Fatumaru Lodge

The hotel's hygiene was pretty mediocre, and there were cockroaches in the room. I couldn't find a hairdryer, so I'm not sure if they even provide one. The only upside is that it's right by the sea; you can see the ocean as soon as you open the window.

A shower curtain would be more than necessary, now water splashes over a wide area. Breakfast really poor, cheaper places have more and more variety. Extra charge is immediately demanded for additional options. Pool area a bit too shady if you want to be in the sun. The beach was a bit muddy at the bottom - didn't feel like swimming. You have to go further for snorkeling if you want to see anything. The room we got was lovely - private terrace and yard directly on the sea. Other rooms only have a balcony, not that nice at all. Room spacious and clean. Beds good and pillow options. AC worked well. Kitchen equipment ok. Kayaks and paddleboards a nice extra. Location a bit remote, but if you also like walking then this is functional. Staff was caring and friendly, communication in advance worked well. Lying down to the sound of the waves with my partner, I felt so happy. It's just that the accommodations in Vanuatu are all pretty much the same – rather primitive, but still very beautiful.

The location is very nice, the room is large and beautifully furnished. The bed is very comfortable. The staff is unfriendly and unmotivated.

The hotel is next to the lake and has beautiful scenery, but don't stay on the first floor next to the lake. It's not soundproof and everyone who comes for a walk seems to be dancing on your head. The other room types are very good, with mosquito nets, fans, air conditioners, complete facilities, clean and tidy, and a good location. You can walk to Stonegrill and there is a supermarket within walking distance for breakfast.
