I recently returned from Pietrablu Resort & Spa, family with 2 children, first of all I want to say about the transfer from Bari to the hotel is very expensive, although the distance is 40km, another important aspect is the check-in at 5:00 p.m. . The rooms are ok, the food is tasty, although the breakfast is the same for 7 days, there is no vegan food, not even the basics: milk or something else, although we have an allergic child, who ate only fruits, some vegetables and drinks (cola , slot, Sprite). And what exceeded our expectations, the Sea, it says that the beach is sandy, but it is artificial, because entering the sea is almost impossible, rocks and very dangerous for both Adults and children, deep and big stones everywhere, mi - I cut my leg in stones. If you want a holiday at the sea, on the beach for children to play and swim is not a good choice, the hotel is quite secluded, you can't find anything nearby, no shops, you have to take everything you need with you, but this is not there is a problem, there is a bus that offers free services to go to Polignano a Mare, we went hoping to find a more accessible beach with a smoother entry into the water for our 3 and 5 year old children, but we did not find the whole area Puglia is rocky and Pietroasa, from Polignano a Mare we went to Monopoli by taxi to another beach, but that wasn't perfect either, at least the entrance is smoother and shallower and the stones are smaller. Swimming pools are also for children, entertainers, Mini club for children, shows for children and Adults are organized, but only Italian is spoken, I found a boy named Angel who helped us and spoke in English and he managed to pay attention to my child by speaking to him in English and after a good cry, our child also went on stage, I come with a recommendation for the hotel administration, speak English as little as possible at shows and mini children's club, announce the program in English, it is difficult for others who do not know Italian. Thank you, Angel, for being responsive and bringing smile and satisfaction to Luca! If there were more people like you, there wouldn't be such situations. In general, the vacation was ok, the hotel grounds are kept clean, the rooms are clean, the food is tasty, except that there is no vegan food, contests, shows are organized, but the sea is not suitable for the place, we went to Italy for swimming in the sea, the beach, children to have fun in the water and play in the sand, but we were disappointed.

First impressions count ! We arrived by taxi from Bari Airport, unlike many guests who were part of large groups from mainly Rail Holidays. Only two couples and us waiting to be registered but the male receptionist carried on with whatever he was doing and totally ignored us. We waited for quite a while before we were seen by the female receptionist. The room we had on the first floor was a short walk from the main areas and the restaurant was a little further along. The room exceeded our expectations from some of the Reviews we had read. The main bedroom had a very comfortable bed with a large shower room off it. The first room upon entering had a sofa bed and small table and chairs. There was also a second smaller shower room near this. Each had a magnifying mirror - very useful. The rooms were cleaned regularly and there were towels which we asked to keep for a few days as it's not necessary to have fresh every day as we are clean when we come out of the shower ! It also saves on the resources of many countries where water is becoming a scarce resource. The grounds were kept very well and we loved the rabbits which roamed around and some of which were tame enough to stroke and feed as all they seemed to have was the grass. One day we were waiting for the free shuttle minibus to take us into Poligano a Mare which is quite a way from the Hotel, when we heard crying and saw a white dog which belonged to a neighbour with a tiny black baby rabbit in its mouth. We tried to take it from the dog but it ran off. Then we saw another and got that from the dog and placed it near some bushes. As the minibus was soon approaching we told Thomas who is one of the drivers, about the rabbit, but we had to leave on time. When we came back from a day out Thomas told us that he had found the little rabbit, together with the first one the dog took, and they were fine so he showed us where he had tracked the burrow down quite a distance and placed the rabbits inside. We were so relieved to see them in there with the mother. An act of kindness. The swimming pool was very cold but we managed a few days in there and lay on the sunbeds in the warm sunshine of late September/early October. The Restaurant was something else. Waiters dashing about as if on roller skates. if you had a plate of food in your hands beware as they had right of way. At times it was amusing to watch - from a distance. It was set out like a huge canteen with many large tables to cater for the big groups. We asked to sit nearer the buffet as it was quite a walk to the far end, trying to make sure your food stayed on the plate. We were given a table for two which we kept for the two weeks we were there. The food was especially good, with lots cooked fresh and each day a different theme. You could help yourself to red and white wine, and there was hot drinks including a manned coffee station. The waiters were very efficient, especially Gaetano, who always greeted us with

We chose this all inclusive as a home base for our driving tour of Puglia. For that purpose it was very good. Free parking and outdoor pool, rocky swim in the sea however. We had half board which is recommended as there are no restaurants in walking distance so you are stuck there for dinner. The wifi did not work in our room or in the entire building for that matter. To bad and hence the 3 stars.

The rooms are relatively clean and spacious that’s the only positive I can think of. Looks and feels like Butlins. Miles from anywhere so you can’t go anywhere in the evening. Beach is awful- large pieces of black plastic and very rocky. Worst thing is the restaurant which looks and feels like a works canteen. I survived by only eating food cooked on the grill because at least that was fresh - the buffet was messy and looked very unappetising. I wouldn’t have believed I could get bad food in Italy. If I had not been there as part of an organised tour I would have checked out in the first 24 hours.glad that we went out every day to see the sights.. It has the strangest system of all inclusive that I’ve ever seen.

Lovely hotel and mostly great staff. Reception a little cold but warmed a little by end of week. Two areas of pools but the 12 Nodi bar handed over to kids groups every evening. Absolutely nowhere for mature groups and there were many to have a quiet, background soft music, to relax and enjoy before and after dinner. The top bar Kadu closes 7.30 and Sundays all day which meant the pool by Nodu was very very unpleasant. There is plenty of options and space at the resort so why does everything have to be for one demographics. Good great, restaurant Pugliese very good I hear. Information of daily activities needs to be made visible to guests. Kids activities were but the map with bits of info is definately not enough. A board outside reception for daily updates is all that needed with location, time, activity shown. Simple simple changes please. Happy to be contacted regarding this.

Stayed here for 14 nights as a couple having paid in advance. Only for meeting and befriending another well travelled couple our stay would have either been shorter and would have certainly being less enjoyable. Got out of the confines of the hotel most days travelling to unesco sites on the trains, unreliable buses and expensive tuc tucs. Restaurant similar to Butlins Mosney with no views and was more akin to a canteen. Waiters were a mixed bag and looked like they were preferred if they where someone else. No management presence at the resort and despite the moto in reception about the customer being first we did not feel valued as a customer. After our experience here we would never pay in advance for that number of nights. I complained at the start on arriving and asked for a refund but to no avail. We were offered another resort hotel near Sicily but on checking the reviews it too had similar complaints. Would never go again with CDS.

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks fully inclusive holiday at the Pietrablu Resort and Spa. It was our first visit to Puglia and we simly loved the area and the abundance of really interesting places to visit, all steeped in rich history. The Pietrablu was an ideal base. However, to fully explore what Puglia has to offer, a car is necessary. Driving in this area of Italy is a joy and doesn't carry the same level of risk as other areas of Italy. The hotel is branded four star and that is about right. Whereas it does a lot of things really well, it lacks some of the sophistication of a five star hotel. We stayed in a superior suite and the space we had was fantastic, with a bedroom, lounge, large balcony and two shower rooms. There was pleanty of hanging and drawer space for clothes. The food was very good. Mostely buffet, the hot food was freshly prepared and the dining room staff were always helpful and friendly. The dining room was laid out somewhat like a canteen, but this did not detract from a pleasant dining experience. There are four pools and so many sun beds that there always loads to choose from. There is access to a rocky beach where there are more sunbeds and swimming is possible from a platform. All in all, very positive. There were two minor ******* that could be put right. Firstly, a lack of information in the bedrooms on what services the hotel offers. Secondly the reception staff were not up to the helpful standards of their colleagues in other parts of the hotel. All in all, a great weeks holiday.

Very mixed feelings about this review as we did have a great holiday but there was a good few negatives. I’ll start with the positives, Pros: The food was lovely, so much variety and my wife and daughter can be picky eaters. Normal % beer being served unlike other all inclusive places I’ve been. It was very very clean. The grounds were beautiful. I loved the pool near the main bar and beach area. Beautiful. Rabbits roaming freely which my daughter loved. Great air conditioning. Great coffee. Some of the staff were so friendly. Free transport in to Polignano A Mare which was so handy. Some of the animation activities are fun. Cons: The dining area did feel like a canteen. Some days it was chaos. Not overly relaxing. English speaking is listed on the hotel’s website but it really depends who and where you are. Can be a bit difficult sometimes and treated as an annoyance. Asked for a drinks menu near the kids pool bar and there was nothing in English and they couldn’t speak English. Made it near impossible to order anything that I couldn’t point at. Didn’t like the plastic cups for drinks. The two pools at the back need updating ASAP. Felt a bit like a holiday camp at times with cheesy animation activities. Also very repetitive. One rude staff shouting at me in Italian when I can’t speak or read Italian when trying to get food. No friendliness booking in or out. No free transport on a Sunday and times of transport not clearly givento you. Bar near kids pool closes for siesta everyday from 12.30 - 15.30. Having no drinks available there for 3 hours in an all inclusive is not acceptable in my opinion. Didn’t see many variety of cocktails and even if there was the plastic cups would be too small to have one. Breakfast finishing at 9 Again, this feels like a harsh review as we did have a great time but I do expect more from an All inclusive holiday.

We loved this hotel. The grounds are beautifully maintained and there are lots of paths to walk around. With only 2 story buildings, there is a light, spacious, relaxed feeling. The whole place was spotlessly clean, from the reception, restaurant, bar, pool area to the gardens and the coast "beach" area. Most of the staff speak a bit of English and were friendly and usually smiling, with the odd exception! (There's always one!) I don't speak Italian but learning a couple of key words will help and I find it adds to the entertainment and enjoyment of trip. The staff appreciate your efforts too. Our room was lovely and cleaned everyday by a friendly cleaning team. There was enough space in the room, although the shower was a tad small for us. We were in a block of rooms right at the back of the hotel but we had a wonderful view of the gardens and we could even see the sea. (Room 112). There was water in the fridge on arrival and there was tea, coffee and a kettle. We loved the food. Lots of pasta, as you would expect and hope, but lots of other delicious choices too. Grilled meat, fish and sausage, risotto, casseroles etc. Lots of salads, breads, hot and cold savouries, Ice cream, buns and cakes. This hotel closes at the end of the season and was already winding down. The main big pool area, the theatre, downstairs restaurant and the snack bar were already closed but as there were not so many guests, there was still plenty of space for everyone. This wasn't an issue for us as the buffet restaurant, small pool and bar, which also served as the snack bar was open. We had a singer and live music to dance to every night. He sang in various languages, mostly Italian, well you are in Italy, but there were a few English songs too. We knew the hotel was out on its own, so we're not surprised by this but we had hired a car to get from the airport and then had it all week, so we were able to get out and about a bit. There was also lots of free parking at the hotel. All in all we had a wonderful time, very relaxing and the weather was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
