Central Park Hôtel & Spa

Fantastic hotel in great central location in La Rochelle. Beautiful rooms with some parking spaces available but you need to book in advance. The most amazing thing about this hotel is the staff. They simply cannot do enough for you and go above and beyond to help all visitors. Mehdi and Berengeie were amazing. We would go back to this hotel just because they made us feel like VIPs. Nice breakfast offering and great value for money. We will come back here.

The hotel is well maintained, and the rooms clean, but a little bit small, for the price you pay. The breakfast is very nice, and they have gluten free options. They disn’t habe lavtose free milk, and they were and buy for me, which was very nice of them. The staff was very nice. However, on the general space, there were duat on staff like lights, which they could take care off. We didn’t try the spa, not having it included on the room rate was ackward for a 4 stars hotel-spa. On thw breakfast, it was super ackward that they don’t clean the tables, if you go late, the entire saloon is full of empty tables with the dirty dishes other guests left. One thing is not worth it at all is the hotel parking. It is located at a fiatance of 9 minutes walk from the hotel, and it doea not habe vigilance. On the sorroundings of the hotel, it is relatively easy to park, as it is not in the city center; even thought it’s at a decent walking distance from the city center.

Very modern point of difference against a sea of older hotels near La Rochelle center. Although it looks like just out of town CBD, it is a very handy 5 minute flat walk. Very quiet trendy part of town a bonus. Bus stop right outside. Highly recommend.

Here we have a nice hotel, 10mn walk from the City center. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean, a very good point. Another great one is the bed which is really high quality for a perfect night ! If you are looking for something special, try their Suite with Jacuzzi, amazing one and you can even use it at night, great moment ahead :-) Location, Service, Rooms, everything was perfect. The improvement points are definitey 2 for us : - There is no Bar ! You can order food and drinks al night but there is no bar, the guy will make it for you in the kitchen that's it ! First time that we sleep in a 4 stars hotel without a real cosy place called BAR. Best exemple is to order a cocktail and you will see that there is not a real Barman. - The Food. There is no restaurant of course but the breakfast is very poor compared to competition and if we arrive around 9/10am (it closes at 11am), there is no more fruits....They do not refill actively. Another unique thing is that they do not clean the tables. You can arrive at 9/10am or 11am, all tables will be there as the clients left them and you cannot choose the table then. First time ever we see this !! In short, very nice to sleep and enjoy a Suite but services around (Bar, food...) are not at a 4stars quality expected.

This hotel is in a great position with only 10 minutes walk to get to the harbour. Everything is clean and spotless and the beds are very comfy. There is no noise at night due to excellent soundproofing. Nice little tea and coffee making tray, fridge and a clean and functional bathroom. The women at reception are extremely welcoming and efficient and you feel you are in good hands. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The only reason for this poor review is regarding the fact that my room stunk of cigarette smoke AND: I am coming from: +30 years of international customer service, including being a Canadian government representative in another country; International flight attendant in elite airline; Small town country girl being told numerous times that I am a very kind gentle compassionate Being never complaining; In no way was I ever offered the smallest compensation for this stinky room… I was as sweet as could be, and would have been immensely grateful for even just a free chocolate bar or free beer, as I would have felt “heard and appreciated’… I hardly slept the fist night as the cigarette stench kept me awake. I am never staying in this hotel ever again. Rated 4 star hotel…. A perception amidst an infinite sea of perceptions… Please note that the employees were very nice, just obviously powerless…

The reason for this review is not to criticise but to inform, so that people know what to expect on arrival as I believe the advertising literature is slightly misleading. Whilst this hotel is OK it is not a 4* by UK standards. On arrival the receptionist was friendly and helpful. We were directed to the hotel parking which is just a short walk from the hotel and cost twelve euros per night. Be aware this is not secure parking. The room was a reasonable size, very clean and the bed was comfortable. Location of the hotel is good, just a ten minute walk into the port, beach or centre depending on your want. Things to be clear on: There is no swimming pool at this hotel nor is there a bar. You can order a drink at reception and take to your room or sit in the lobby seating area. The lobby seating area is small with uncomfortable seating so not ideal for a relaxing drink and a chat. There is a coffee machine in the lobby but we found often there were no cups and the coffee pods had not been refreshed. Finally, not all staff were as friendly and helpful as the receptionist who checked us in(whose name I cant pronounce) particularly those on in the evenings. Would I stay again, probably not as I think there are more comfortable places to stay in La Rochelle.
