It is not the first time here and it just keeps getting better with every visit! My husband and I have traveled quite a bit and agreed this is our favorite place to stay in all of Costa Rica!! Our first day, we were greeted with smiles and popsicles on a very warm day. Once we entered our room they then guided us to the free happy hour sunset at the beach. Their Natural juice with coconut rum. ️ The staff treats you like family! Andres, Jeremy, Charlie, Jeffrey, Tania and Angela are just a few that made our week better than we anticipated with their infectious personalities and knowledge of the amazing menu the hotel offers. The chefs heard and met our requests which made the service top notch! The rooms were cleaned every day so when we arrived from the beach or excursions our room felt very comfortable! The grounds were impeccable and we enjoyed walking thru the hotel to bird watch and say hi to the kitties who live here. We were also very entertained by the monkeys. I can honestly say I am not a cat lover however I sure did bond with them before we left home. Every morning we were greeted with smiles and the buffet breakfast was something to look forward to with so many choices. We took advantage of the free sound bath session which made the end of our trip beautiful! Transportation is very convenient as The hotel does pick you up from the Liberia Aiport and offers shuttle Service for $6 to the main town where you will enjoy various shops, restaurants and bars. If You like to walk it was not arduous at all. We were sad to leave but look forward to returning. Thank you to EVERYONE at Cala Luna.

Really great food, excellent choice and quality of ingredients. Super kind people and amazing location. The only thing that I would change about this experience is to lower a little bit the volume of the live music: it is great for people enjoying a drink but when eating a quiet environment is better.

We had an amazing stay at the Cala Luna. The location was perfect for a relaxing family retreat, but just a few minutes via golf cart from the charming surf town of Tamarindo. We stayed in a villa with a full kitchen and private pool, which the kids loved. The resort pool was also a big hit. Being right by the restaurant meant the kids could swim while we lingered after our breakfast or dinner, and everyone enjoyed themselves. The restaurant was also fantastic. Amazing service & food. The chef even prepared a 4 course meal with a fish we caught on our deep sea fishing trip earlier in the day. We also loved the sunsets on the beach. I’m not typically a huge sunset fan but after the first night, we planned the rest of our evenings to make sure we didn’t miss one. The Cala Luna is truly a special place and we look forward to coming back.

We stayed at Cala Luna for two nights—a very beautiful boutique hotel. The room was fantastic. We had two very comfortable queen beds. The bathroom shower area was unique…like you’re showering in a sunken tub. I would have liked a rain showerhead, though. Short walk to the beach. At 5 pm, they had complementary cocktails while you watched the sunset over the Pacific. The included breakfast was top-notch. Coffee was given in a French press. Nice touch. My wife did a fantastic included yoga session. The pool was a nice size. Around the evenings, howling monkeys came by. We had dinner at their farm to table restaurant. Plenty of vegetarian options. Shout out to Jeffrey, Charlie and Andrea for the yoga.

Our family group of 6 had a wonderful stay at Cala Luna. The facility itself was first-rate. The restaurant was excellent -- the best in Tamarindo. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. There was peace and quiet for those who wanted to relax. The front desk arranged memorable tours for those who wanted to get out and about. The hotel's transportation service -- Transportes Retana Molina -- made getting in and out of Tamarindo very easy. It was a great week!

We put a lot of thought in our review and probably would give Cala Luna a 3.5??? The resort looks beautiful, but we felt there was a lot missing from our experience. The good… We did the farm to table dinner at La Senda and it was AMAZING! Highly recommend doing this. You visit Cala Luna’s owner’s 74 acre farm. Their house is spectacular and you are able to walk the 1.7 mile labyrinth before dinner. It was an unforgettable experience in a really good way. The morning breakfasts were good. The food was light and fresh. We rented a golf cart and loved using it to go in and out of town. Even though you are only a mile from the main road in town, the golf cart made it easy to go to dinner or visit a larger beach. The disappointing… do NOT stay in villa 104!!! It is at the far end of the resort and across the street from a bar which has live music every night. We purposely picked a resort off the main road so it would be quiet, well, our villa was not quiet! The music played until 10pm every night. It doesn’t sound bad, but 3 out of 4 of us ended up with stomach issues one night and the music was painful. Honestly, the music was annoying every night. We picked a “wellness” resort and hoped for a little Zen. Our villa, liked the resort, looked nice, but it did not function so well. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang our towels. Housekeeping did not supply us with extra toilet paper – and let’s just say we needed it. Sounds silly, but they could have provided us with a pitcher of cold water in our refrigerator. We were hoping for more than one class a day and for the price, I would expect it to be included but most (not all) classes charge $20 a person. The main pool and beach area have limited seating so we hung out at our private pool in our villa, but there were only 2 lounge chairs for a 2 bedroom villa. We did laundry, which we knew was not included, but we were charged $104 and did not have that much laundry. I guess overall we felt the place was nice, but not that nice for what we spent. I would recommend checking out an Airbnb or VRBO, but definitely try the farm to table dinner at La Senda. That was well worth the time and money!

Loved this hotel so much. I was very luxurious for a pretty affordable price. The staff was very accommodating and the food was amazing (the sliders by the pool were surprisingly amazing)! Check out the restaurant too. Joanna was so pleasant and knowledgeable.

Great hotel in good quiet area. Wonderful large rooms. Bathrooms with tub. Great pool area, beautiful surroundings. Found the bass drum music bit disturbing however (propably poor sound system). Bech access and complimentary sunset drinks. Beach is bit rocky but on high tide nice and beautiful.

Amazing holistic experience at lahari spa . My husband had Priscilla who was absolutely amazing. I had Johana who is unbelievable and has a strong spiritual side . She definitely works here for the right reasons , it’s her calling . I visited their spa as I was dealing with something very traumatic in my life. If this is you or just simply need some relaxation, peace and stillness, visit lahari spa. The owner , Andrea , has passion for her Buisness , such a beautiful person inside and out . She has helped me more than she knows, I’m sure. Everyone has heartache or rough patches in their life , and I think Andrea used this energy and passion toward the successfulness in her Buisness, and it clearly shows . Thanks again Andrea , Johana , and Priscilla . Keep doing what you do. Andrea and Johana , I will remember you always , and always have a place for you in my heart , even though we only just met . ♥️
