It's been 15 years since my last trip to Tenerife and the comments below are based on international five star hotel experiences around the globe. So here's what I experienced on this reservation:- Positives 1.Check in / out process fast and professional. 2.Direct beach access via the pool area. 3.Breakfast buffet with internal and external seating choices was excellent. 4.Evening entertainment between 21:00 and 23:00 Hrs was good. Negatives 1. Allocated R3101 upon arrival and entered to find the bath tub was extremely dirty and required solvent cleaning to remove large accumulation of water scale dirt around plug area (Approx 200mm in dia). Root cause of this problem is a leakage from the shower hose connection which remains to be fixed. 2. TV was on and could not be turned off. This was rectified by Maintenace changing the batteries within the remote control. 3. Sink plunger mechanism was broken and I was shown how to remove the plug on a daily basis once housekeeping cleaned the room. 4. Locking mechanism on the balcony sliding door is broken and extremely hard to open / closed. 5. Only one, yes one pool towel provided / guest at the pool via a plastic card that you are required to exchange at the pool towel bar. If you forget this card it's a return trip to the room. General Travel Tips. 1. Taxi from TFS Airport to hotel cost 25 Euro each way. 2. Hard Rock Cafe located next door (£££). 3. Great Italian, Thai, Japanese and British restaurants located on the second floor off the shopping complex across the road from the hotel (££££)

Hotel Las Madrigueras Golf Resort & Spa - Adults Only

Playa de las Americas|1.41km from Casablanca
Recently returned from a 5 night stay celebrating my wife's birthday. Warm welcome on arrival, check-in effortles as we have stayed here before so most details were on their system. The room we were given was excellent, however my wife loves her bath and this room did not have one. As the stay was a special birthday occasion for my wife, I enquired at reception if it was possible to have a room change with a bath. Receptionist was understanding & accomodating and was able to provide us with the room change. The rooms are all of a high standard, spacious and clean. Pool area is excellent with plenty of loungers & umbrellas. We had evening meals at the hotel's Bogey restaurant every night (which is also where breakfast is served). There is a very good menu choice and the standard of food was excellent. During one of the evening meals we were slightly let down by the service. Minor thing, but it is a fine dining restaurant so should not have happened. Breakfast is very good which includes a cooked to order menu choice. Our room was serviced every day with a turndown in the evening. When returning to our room on my wife's birthday there was a chilled bottle of Cava waiting, which was a nice touch (thank-you). The staff at the reception, restaurant and throughout the hotel are engaging, welcoming & friendly. This hotel is an oasis where you can easily relax. We will return.

Playa de las Americas|0.57km from Casablanca
Just returned from this hotel after a 6 night stay. This is a great 3 star hotel in a great location. Beach promenade walk to Los Christanos is around 15 minutes. Go the other way and you will reach Veronica's area in about 20 Minutes (I wouldn't bother in the evening but pleasant enough in the daytime). We even walked to Costa Adeje from this hotel - about 40 minutes walk. The beach promenade is fantastic with numerous beaches, cafes, bars etc as far as you can walk. Pool area was great - loads of sunbeds and no mad rush to get one. Still loads at 11 in the morning. They are very close together however. Rooms were of a good size and spotless. A little dated but no issues with it at all. The staff in this hotel are amazing - nothing is too much trouble. Free courtesy room on day of departure - you have to book but there is no charge. We ate some lunch in the hotel one day as we were SC and it was fine. The location is perfect - Many high end eateries and numerous shops etch. Its like a mini Las Vegas ***** right on your door step. It was very quite but this was January - 26 Degrees and not a cloud in the sky although along by the beach is very windy. Temperature drops to about 19 in the evening so jacket probably needed if windy. If you are looking for luxury this is not the hotel. If you are looking for a good priced clean and in a great location then this maybe the one for you. Really enjoyed our stay.

Apartamentos Vista Sur

Just returned from 10 days at the Vista Sur apartments. Lovely modern accommodation & right on the beach. Super clean & modern. All the staff we dealt with were friendly & very helpful. Loads of shops, bars & restaurants nearby & a 30 second stroll to the beach. Would highly recommend. They even delivered a bottle of Cava on my birthday & another bottle & some sweet treats for Christmas - such a lovely surprise. It’s the details that matter! Will definitely be back.
Whala!Tenerife - Formerly Marola Portosin

Me and my hubby had a fabulous, relaxing 10 nights at Morola Portosin. Jose and the team are welcoming and the place is absolutely spotless. Also Tommy and the bar staff at the pool bar are fab. We love staying here and return every year. Although some guests hog the sunbeds with their towels for hours without using them, luckily, we have always able to find an empty one, otherwise thus would be our only criticism. Looking forward to returning next year.
Hotel Zentral Center - Adults Only
3.8/547 Reviews
This is a nice hotel in a good location it’s an easy walk to the safari centre and the beach front. This is more of a business hotel although there are plenty of people on holiday using it. The rooms are a good size but basic. The shower was very powerful. The rooms didn’t have balconies but this didn’t bother us. My partner enjoyed the sauna. The roof top pool was nice although the pool and jacuzzi were quite cold but it was October. There were plenty of sun beds with canopies over. The staff were helpful and they had a room for you to leave your bags if you’re flying out late. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment. You can get a cooked breakfast in various bars and restaurants for about €5. There is no snack bar but there are vending machines and you can buy a coffee etc at reception. We just bought bits at the local supermarket and took it up with us. There are plenty of restaurants and bars at the safari centre and the beachfront some with live music. We really enjoyed the Soul Suite the music was great. We used the buses to get around they are cheap and regular. We visited Adeje and los Chris both lovely but preferred Las Americas as it was bigger and livelier. Visit The Savoy the food is really reasonable and the staff are lovely. Give Veronica’s ***** a miss unless you are 18-20s it’s a bit seedy, a shame coz the bars look fun but there are guys hanging around touting drugs. But don’t be put off coz the rest of las Americas is great. We will definitely go back again.
