Guild House Hotel

The hotel is interesting and unique in that it is a historic building that retained much of its original flavor. There is only virtual service, i.e. no one is on site, but the connecting to the staff was easy via friendly text. They accommodated our last minute request for an hour later check out. We stayed in a room called The Florence, which was large and well appointed, however, there were no windows in the room. I knew that in advance and didn't think it would matter since we had plans during the day and thought we would only be there in the evening and to sleep. It was, however, very disconcerting to not have any contact with the outdoors, to know when the sun came up or whether it was raining etc. If we go back, I would not stay in that room again because of it.

Really spacious, incredibly well decorated , quiet, a wonderful sanctuary to relax in! This certainly feels like being in someone’s home with rich colors, great artwork, and a fluffy bed all around to sleep in. The bathroom is quite roomy and tiled. We were apprehensive about not having anyone on site, yet the staff was responsive to texts, immediately.

Incredible housekeeping stuff. Gorgeous room and fun amenities. Perfect location. Did I mention the housekeeping? Wonderful people. More tech- (text-) centered than any other hotel, so no in-house staff. Works for my anxious and immunosuppressed self. Once had trouble with door not unlocking for me. I just texted for help and it was fixed faster than if front desk at a big hotel had to replace a bad room card.
