Rose Marie Guest House

We had the pleasure of staying at this guest house and were warmly welcomed and given a first class room that was dog friendly and very spacious. We had a large king sized bed with Freeview TV and a fridge included access to a shared kitchen and bathroom, with no one in the adjoining room, we effectively had a self-contained apartment. The accommodation was very comfortable and quiet and the city centre was a brief 15 minutes walk away offering shops and restaurants etc. Breakfast was included and was a traditional Irish break fast consisting of sausage, bacon, hash brown, egg, tomato, baked beans, white & black pudding, mushrooms and toast . The breakfast lasted us all day and tea/coffee and fruit juice, fantastic breakfast. Overall our stay was exceptional and we will return again when we go to Peterborough, Kevin was a gracious host and lovely man. Parking locally was Resident Only, but you are added to the scheme to get free parking.
Travelodge Peterborough Eye Green

I based my score at 3.5 based on the good things . Pros. Easy booking with easy Free cancellation upto midday on the booking date. This Travelodge been pet friendly for my new assistant puppy .I have seizures so it was important he was welcomed. Nice surprise there was a bath but the cons were it was very low and quite small a ground level shower that I dud not have to have help to get over the bath part would have been nice but if I'd not been disabled the room its self was 9/10 based on a few dusty higher sleeves and more care needed cleaning behind the TV. I only found due to pluging in my own travel dvd player . Apart from no lift to upper rooms and the odd patch of dust the rooms were very comfy for there low budget price per night...

Nice, cozy and very comfortable hotel. We stayed in room 203 that is spacious and very well decorated. Staff very friendly, breakfast is bed was a bonus! We booked direct and got free breakfast and free upgrade. I see several negative comments about charging in advance, but I don’t see a problem here. All hotels, especially privately run, have their own terms. We were advised that we’ll be charged and we went ahead with it. We’ll definitely stay again when we visit peterborough next time.
Dragonfly Hotel Peterborough

I stayed at the Dragonfly as I was attending a two day work related course in Peterborough. On check in I was asked to leave a £1 refundable deposit on my card - this seemed a little odd as I’d already paid for my room but I agreed. I have not had this deposit refunded - in fact it was taken out of my account five days after I left the hotel. Nothing was broken on my stay. Upon arrival to my room, I noted the faint stagnant smell of old cigarette smoke . I used the bathroom and the hot tap swivelled which I found odd. I was able to use the tap by pressing down hard. I went back to reception to address these issues. The lady advised me they would look into it and get back to me. They didn’t. I found the room I was in (109) was an odd shaped room. The television faced sideways to the bed so made watching television and relaxing in the evening not possible. The double bed I had was in fact two singles pushed together and not of the same height. This made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. During the night, the room became immensely hot which woke me up. I couldn’t see why as the electric storage heater wasn’t on. The corridor outside was also hot. In the morning, I found the shower door to be stiff and would not close properly. Upon going to dry my hair, there was no plug situated anywhere near the mirror. Being someone with very curly hair who needs to see how they are drying their hair, this was impossible and I had to use the camera on my phone as a mirror. Unfortunately I suffer with food allergies. I spoke to the waiting on lady at breakfast who advised cornflakes were available for myself. Not what I expect having paid £10 for the breakfast. She appeared very put out when I asked her to check with the chef about items on the hot menu. She came back with ‘ the chef doesn’t really know but here is a photo of the hash brown packet’ . I was able to eat either cornflakes or scrambled eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes. Not really acceptable for what I paid. I have contacted the hotel but haven’t heard anything back. It’s a shame this hotel is so outdated- not just in the rooms themselves but with education of allergies for staff and also in their lack of trust for customers when they already have their card details from room paying . It may only be £1 deposit, but every time they don’t refund £1 deposit to 100 people, thats £100 in their pockets for free. This is such a shame as the hotel itself is in a lovely setting.
Park Inn by Radisson Peterborough City Center

Clean comfortable generous sized room, very comfy bed and good nights sleep. Staff friendly and welcoming. Location brilliant for city centre stay, minutes walk from centre and near railway station. Free Car park but got very busy and crowded.
