Hotels near Genjuan in Otsu

The Prince Hotel in Biwako is a place where a traveler can relax entirely. The lake-view room is nowhere one can compare. I feel owning the whole lake scene when sitting by the wide picturistic window from the 11th floor and sipping a cup of green tea. From frontdesk to suttle bus drivers, all staff speak English and are so helpful. The suttle service running twice an hour betwwen the hotel and the train station is a saving of taxi fare. The lobby at the entrance is so spaciously open that one can sit in an armchair at a corner and will not feel uncomfortable albeit facing a big group of travelers around. I will stay here again when I visit Kansai area next time. James

The room faces Lake Biwa and is quite beautiful. The area is quite large for Japan. The bed is comfortable. I slept on the tatami for many days. It feels great to lie on the big bed. The hot spring is also very good. My skin will be smooth after soaking. It would be better if they can provide ice milk. The pick-up bus is very convenient I booked a hotel with dinner included. The buffet provided for dinner did not have many varieties. There was not even a seafood sashimi. The beef place provided mediocre food and the Western pastry was pretty good.

When visiting Kyoto, we wanted to enjoy some time in an onsen resort so we decided to spend two nights in Ogoto Onsen. After checking the details in their website, we booked a ”Biwa no kaze”room with private onsen and view of Lake Biwako. And we were not disappointed. The room looks newly renovated, and is very spacious with two beds and sitting area plus a tatami room. They offer different dinner packages, and we have chosen crab with steak as the main dishes for the first night, and lobster with shabu-shabu the second night. The foods were of very high quality, tasted and looked very nice. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide selection of different items. The ryokan is excellent in nearly all aspects. We would stay here again when we next visit Kyoto.

The hotel is located in the heart of Kyoto. Convenient location. All you have to do is go down to the ground floor to take a shower, but overall it's good. I will give my rating of 9.7 out of 10 points to this Hotel.

The room was clean and the staff was very welcoming! I feel that the problem with all this kind of house is that the sound insulation is not very good, you can hear the conversation of the people next door and face the street. The faucet in the shower room has not had hot water for a long time. But it is still recommended here, very comfortable feeling, breakfast is also delicious! ! I stayed with my family for 2 nights for purposes. I chose this one near the station because of the location, but the room is a business hotel type and is by no means large. Is it kept clean? I couldn't deny that the equipment was aging, so I entered the room and there was a spot that was noticeable. Although it is 2 consecutive nights, the card key will not work at 11 o'clock the next day, probably because I booked one night at a time, and an error occurred. I asked the front desk to deal with two stories, but I went to the front desk again without apologizing and went to the front desk again. From the time of check-in, I couldn't feel the service spirit at all at the front desk, and it was clerical. This hotel seems to have nothing to do with that. Because there are usually more people cleaning the room for one night, the aunt uses the entire corridor to spread the used linen in each room, and it is difficult to walk in the corridor. The elevator is also occupied by a linen transport cart around 1100-1300, and it is difficult to get there. It's okay if you just sleep, but it feels a little expensive for that room and service.

Lake Biwa has been here before, so it is not on the lakeside, but I used this inn with a good evaluation of Cospa. There is no elevator in the building and the stairs are a bit steep. Clean Japanese modern room, Wi-Fi can be used in the room. I was happy to have a sofa chair. The bath is only an inner bath, so I also used the bath at the Yugenkan next door (600 yen for use). You will go to Yuyuankan and walk through the corridor on the lobby floor. The bath in Yuyuankan was large and very splendid and there were several types. There is a guide in the building so it is easy to understand. The garden open-air bath is a beautiful and elegant bath with waterfalls and moss. Also, from the open-air bath on the 11th floor, you can see the wonderful view of Lake Biwa overlooking 180 degrees. It was good that there was a washroom and a washroom area with a dryer in the open-air bath. The inner bath and open-air bath on the 8th floor were also large and good. I didn't enter, but there is a bath in one place later. If it is not a rainy day, I recommend using a bath in the sister house even if you pay 600 yen. Very clean bath area is also equipped with amenities, so I am especially happy for women. Well, it was dinner, but every item was delicious. The curry round fried and the scallops were especially delicious. It seemed a little unfortunate that there was no sashimi, but it was too much quantity and quality in any case. However, although it was a reasonable inn, alcohol was high in a luxury inn, and it was a little for us. The bottle of sake and shochu was from 3900 yen. If you offered 300cc of local sake at least 1000 yen, I think I tried various things (after all, I made it a shochu bottle that was not local sake). Breakfast was also a delicious Japanese food, rice, juice, etc. were Viking forms. No coffee (there was a paid coffee machine in the lobby). It is an inn with a reasonable price setting by omitting the service, but especially from the front desk male staff, I felt high hospitality. I was happy to be polite and kind.

The boss was very enthusiastic. On the first day, he sent me to the tram station and told me in detail how to take the car. The next day, he sent me directly to the airport. The road was a little noisy. Because it was too fast, I was caught by the police, but the boss was not angry at all. I was still very happy to go on the road. The mood is really good. Steady. In short, I highly recommend everyone who wants to experience traditional tatami homestays. It is very quiet at night and the police district office is next to it. It is also very safe.

I stayed once before the renewal, but at that time it was not a very beautiful room for compliments. I stayed for the first time after the renewal this time, but it was no longer a separate inn. The room was comfortable, the view of the Uji River and the open-air bath with the room were large and comfortable. The staff was also pleasant and I want to go again if I can afford time and money. However, all dinners during the 3 nights were steak kaiseki shops, but until the first 2 nights, the chef was very good, and the meat was soft and I was able to eat very comfortably. There was a preschool child who was originally prohibited from entering the store at the last 3 night dinner (except for rental), and it was not possible to slow at all in the gaga gaga and the ugly gakinko. It seems that it was a family of your good, but I wanted the line drawing around it to be good.

It was one of the nicest hotels I stayed at during my recent trip to Japan. Hotel is nearby the train station and has very convenient shopping close by. First three floors of the building are commercial, hotel begins on the 4th Floor reception and higher. Rooms on the floors above require key card to activate elevator upwards so quite secure. Coffee and soft drink machines are available between 1400 and 2200. Rooms are nice. Again separate sink , toilet and shower/bath facilities. Bed was typical and they offered the convertible hard/soft pillow which I supplemented with a towel. Quiet rooms despite being the buses and trains below. Breakfast is available in the bakery below. 3 meal combinations were available though the typical Japanese breakfast needed to be ordered the day before. Huge assortment of pastries and baked goods. Definitely a plus to start the day.
