Reviews for Osaka Hotels

Bon Hostel

Although I knew it was under the station from the beginning, I was still frightened by the vibration. The most pity is the maintenance of the environment. It is not easy for the staff to clean. The bathroom was quite clean when I checked in in the afternoon. At night, the bathroom became very slippery and it was dangerous to wear slippers. The toilet has an underground smell at night, but it is still very clean. When we checked in, we received a new guest. We forgot to explain the WiFi password at the beginning, and the bed needs to be made by the guests themselves. When you open the bed, the fine cotton wool will fly, and those who are prone to allergies may feel a little uncomfortable. The nearby streets are a bit dirty and there is a strange smell at night. Maybe it's just my personal sensitivity. However, the price is cheap, so it depends on personal choice when staying.
Khaosan World Namba

This hotel is very close to JR Namba Station and can be reached within five minutes from the station. It only takes ten minutes to walk to Dotonbori on the other side. I highly recommend the travel options for hostels.

E-Sports Hotel E-Zone-Hostel

The concept of the hostel is really cool. It is clean enough and there's basically an internet cafe inside. The staff has been lovely as well. The problem is the actual beds are super uncomfortable. You're in a place with no natural lights as well. You can use a microwave and get hot water but there's no utensils or plates or cups. There are no proper seats in the kitchen as well so you have to sit on a stool. Around 3/5
Namba Guesthouse Hive

I love the location, near Tsutenkaku. But at first, it may be difficult to find the hostel location. The hostel directly connected to the subway, just don't forget, exit 1 B and get the elevator (which is way more efficient to go to the subway!). there is a kitchen, which is clean and nice. You can cook with cooking utensils that are available there. the staffs are nice and friendly!
Osaka Namba Hostel Miyabi

Good value for money at this location. Comfortable. The boss is a foreigner, and one line of facilities is ”a place where you can only sleep.” ㅋㅋ I was in a female dormitory room, but there are four bunk beds and a sink with a mirror in one corner. And the towel rental fee is 200 yen. The shower room is very narrow, but the hot water comes out well. Recommended for those traveling alone and traveling with one gay friend as a cost-effective accommodation~

More about Osaka

Introduction to Osaka

Osaka, Japan's third-largest city, is a dynamic metropolis known for its modern architecture, lively nightlife, and hearty street food culture. It is located in the Kansai region on the main island of Honshu. Osaka's friendly locals and a myriad of attractions, including historic landmarks, theme parks, and shopping districts, provide a compelling contrast to Tokyo's hustle and bustle.

Tips for Travelling to Osaka

Osaka is served by two airports: Kansai International Airport and Itami Airport, with Kansai being the primary gateway for international travelers. The city has an excellent public transportation system, including JR trains, subways, and buses. Japan's famous bullet trains also connect Osaka with other major cities.

The official currency is the Japanese Yen (JPY), and while credit cards are widely accepted, it's worth carrying some cash for smaller establishments. The official language is Japanese, and while English is not commonly spoken by older locals, younger generations and service staff at tourist attractions usually have a good understanding.

Visa requirements for Japan vary depending on your country of origin, so always check in advance. Many countries enjoy visa-free access for short-term visits.

Popular Attractions in Osaka

Dotonbori is Osaka's entertainment heart, with its iconic Glico Man sign, an array of restaurants, and exciting street performances. A visit to Osaka Castle, one of Japan's most famous landmarks, is essential.

Universal Studios Japan, a popular theme park featuring Harry Potter World, is a favorite among families. Explore the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, one of the largest public aquariums in the world, or shop 'til you drop in the Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Osaka experiences four distinct seasons. The spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are the best times to visit, with pleasant temperatures and beautiful cherry blossoms or fall colors. Summers can be hot and humid, while winters are mild but chilly. Depending on the season of your visit, pack accordingly - light, breathable clothing for summer, and warm layers for winter.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Osaka

Osaka offers a wide range of accommodations to suit different travel needs. If you're looking for luxury near attractions, the Intercontinental Osaka in Umeda or Conrad Osaka offer top-notch services and amenities. The Swissotel Nankai Osaka is conveniently located above Nankai Namba Station for easy transportation access.

Budget travelers might find Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka or Hearton Hotel Kitaumeda appealing. Instagrammers would love Hotel The Flag Shinsaibashi, recognized for its minimalist design and excellent location.
