The room was comfortable and clean with a nice view on the Lago Maggiore. The kitchen wasn't fully fitted, there was only a coffee machine. I know that we have to pay for it, but they could put some plates and mugs. The breakfast was good, but there wasn't much choice.

The views from the rooms are all good. Everything else is average. For CHF 270 per day, you should be able to expect a firstrate experience. However several things disappointed us for our 6 day stay (which we could not change). First, there is no elevator and no assistance with heavy luggage (whichever room you have, you must climb stairs). Then there's the parking situation - the hotel does have a nice underground parking garage but it appears to be given to a hotel down the road; initially we had to park 100 meters up the road in another hotels parking on the street, but after complaining we were given one of the spaces near the hotel entrance (we were surprised to find a CHF 18 charge on our bill on checkout for this spot). The rooms are not very impressive - the bathroom is tiny and there is no air conditioning (just a noisy fan on the table) - the kitchen has a fridge and cooktop but no dishes or cutlery were provided, so that went unused. Breakfast was simple but adequate.
The staff was friendly enough but we were not sorry to leave.

The hotel is oriented toward the lake, so all rooms have excellent views. All rooms have balconies to enjoy. A simple breakfast is included. What makes this an average hotel is the lack of an elevator, bathrooms are tiny, no room has air conditioning, in-room kitchens have no dishes or cutlery and parking is an issue. We thought the place was not good value for money.

We booked originally for 4 nights there, ran away after the first night! Know the bigger area of Locarno since years and been in so many hotels, B&B, apartments etc., but this one was the worst experience ever! Unfriendly and arrogant service. The hotel is located between two very noise roads 24/7. Close by where road constrictions which startet to work at 6.30am. It was a hot night, closing the window din’t help at all…

Die Reservation für das Familienappartement sowie das Abendessen in der Villa Orselina hat wunderbar geklappt. Ein kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz wurde uns wie gewünscht zugewiesen. Freundlicher Empfang und Angebot für Koffer tragen, da kein Lift im Gebäude. Zimmer grosszügig und zweckmässig eingerichtet, sogar mit Kühlschrank. Frühstück ok. Möglichkeit für 3-Minuten-Ei, Omelett oder Rührei wäre noch wünschenswert. Ansonsten alles da (div. Flocken, Fruchtsalat, Birchermüsli, Käse, Fleisch, hartgekochte Eier, feine Brötchen und Gipfeli, Saft, Kaffeeauswahl, Milch, Wasser). Alles sauber. Preis - Leistung absolut gerechtfertigt. Das Essen im Partnerhotel Villa Orselina war wie immer ein Traum und die von Jessica zusammengestellte Weinbegleitung perfekt - vielen Dank. Am nächsten Tag führte uns Giancarlo in die Geschichte der Villa Orselina ein und gab uns bei einer Weindegustation sein Wissen weiter. Die anschliessende Führung durch die Villa Orselina und die Organisation der Besichtigung von Delea haben unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht. Ganz herzlichen Dank - es war super!
