Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort

Ocean Shores|0.53km from Fusions Gallery
If you have access to ANY other accommodations in Ocean Shores, do it. This place is a dump. It’s dirty, old, run down, and the front desk personnel -when we arrived -was inept and unfriendly. (One gal when we checked out was very pleasant) I saw one desk staffer’s demeanor to other guests waiting to check in, and knew it wasn't going to go well, even when I poured on the charm. I checked the reviews from the recent past, and many mentioned the garbage and trash all around the grounds...and some of the specifics - like empty capri sun drink pouches - and they we still there...Also empty plastic pop bottles and an incredible amount of cigarette butts (on a no smoking property!) still littered around the place. (*side bar* we had a reservation at another hotel down the street and when I checked in there and viewed the room, I almost chucked! How that place is even allowed to let rooms be occupied by humans is a mind blower to me! – but that is whole ‘nother review!) SO, we called and got the last room at this place, and they charged us rack rate so the pain was even deeper paying an average of $300/night for a true dump! (Had no idea the way to ‘do” OS is in an Air BnB or VRBO!) Besides “Sally Sunshine” the front desk, there was a young fella who was apparently new or in dire need of training, kept trying to get my credit card to run (their internet never worked) -all the sudden my card was declined! he tried to chg. it FIVE TIMES! (VISA said yeah, no that’s obviously fraud and cut my card off till I responded to a text message in their app!) So after 2 delays of more than an hour and a half to get into our room, first thing was the trip through the halls (which are beat to h*ll with holes and dings everywhere) to the elevator. Get to the room and first thing we see the carpet is disgusting! Greasy – dirty – sticky (do not go barefoot in there!) Checked the bathroom: fairly clean-ish. The shower curtain had apparently been torn down multiple times so with the most recent installation (all the patches are there – unpainted joint compound globs left on the walls) – you can’t open the bathroom door all the way as it bangs into the curtain rod that is hung too high and too far outside the tub surround so if you’re’ not careful you’ll flood the bathroom. Fan sounded like woodchipper, and the drain stopper was not installed, just an open hole on the tub. There is little mini fridge – totally caked with ice so the freezer compar**ent wouldn’t close which impacted the temp (even at warmest setting)- and it froze everything. The bed, sheets and teeny pillows were ok, and I did not see of have evidence of bed bugs so there’s that. Thin tiny towels. Spared myself the agony and just assumed the bed covers had been well used. The slider to the balcony wouldn’t slide open or closed, without 2 people working on it, and the screen came off the track immediately. Internet never worked, and when I asked will the internet be available at all? I was told “I don’t k

We booked it for a fun convention. I was disappointed right off the bat. I put both my husband's name and mine on the prepay reservation. They insisted that my husband had to come in to show photo ID so they could confirm it really was us. The kitchenette had no towels or anything to wash with. They said they don't have kitchen towels or cloths. We booked 3 nights, they gave us 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels. They said they had a towel shortage. Brought our garbage to the front desk because we didn't know what else to do so they said, put it outside your door and give us a call about it being there. Although, there was no replacement bags in the room. When I went to take a shower, I learned that we had 2 hotel type conditioner bottles and 2 lotion bottles. No shampoo. We only got one mini bar of soap so I used it to wash my hair. The heater in our room didn't work right either. It was either blowing cold or hot when set on Auto. We did try several settings. We froze the first night. Cooked to death second night. Third night just cold but not freezing. I heard the restaurant isn't open yet. I could see things were being worked on but they also seem to have a lack of staff. I don't feel the cost was appropriate for the level of care. I did find 2 of the staff that really did seem to care. One stuck up woman and then lazy ones. Notice the unclean porch. The tore up base of front door.

The resort was very good. We only had one problem, the TV kept going off line, and the Resort maintenance man's answer was to just wiggle the connection? The apartment was very good with a few of the ocean. The pool was not used by us, but the ones that did use it looked very happy. We do recommend this resort

This place is disgusting. I thought it was suspect when we arrived so we checked the room before bringing in our luggage. The bathroom, bedroom and kitchen area was so dirty. I’m allergic to mold and my breathing was labored. We went to the front desk and asked for a refund. Don’t stay there! I have photos!

Excellent location, close to the beach. Now it is the rainy season, the hall includes several kitchens in dripping water. The breakfast type is quite rich, but the place to eat dripping water affects the mood of eating. I hope that the house will be closed when I go to live next time. The room is spacious and the heating is great.
