Sant'Efis Hotel

a beautiful building, which was completely renovated, reopened in 2021, lovely garden and pool area, nice restaurant with terrace right at the beach, rooms rather small, but nice - the right place to relax and calm down

We were charmed by the beauty of the hotel, including the lush vegetation, the two pools, as well as its modern facilities. Our triple room was very spacious, well equipped and suitable for two adults and one child. The hotel staff is friendly and caring. Despite a few hiccups we encountered such as a last minute flight cancellation and a minor injury, the staff went out of their way to find solutions with a smile. We booked a vehicle and a tour through the hotel, and there was no extra cost compared to going directly through a professional, which is very nice. The hotel is also very clean and the breakfast offers a good choice of quality products. On the other hand, the location of the hotel is not ideal for restaurants, as there are none within 2 km of the hotel. We decided to walk several times during our stay to the nearest village to find a place to eat. It is possible to rent bikes or electric scooters from the hotel, but this may not be suitable for everyone, especially for families with young children. The hotel's restaurant is good and the waiters are very friendly and helpful, but the prices are a bit high. Also, there are no children's options, which can be a problem for families who don't want their child to eat only French fries all week. Finally, the cocktails at the hotel bar are also a bit expensive, but they are generous, well presented and accompanied by a snack (cheese, cold cuts, olives or chips) without extra cost. Overall despite the few negative points we had a fantastic experience in this hotel and recommend it in every way.

Beautiful hotel in lush surroundings. The gardens were so well looked after and made the hotel feel really special and relaxing. We were there in low season so it was quiet but while there were people around, it always felt very serene and relaxing by the pool and in the hotel. Staff were so helpful, telling us about a local festival and booking restaurants for us. Room was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. I also particularly liked the breakfast - good quality, fresh food and lovely coffee. We only ate at the hotel restaurant once and while it was pricey, the food was good and it’s a lovely setting right on the beach. The hotel is a 30 minute walk from the town but we liked this. We had a car but enjoyed our walks in when we did and it was easy to get a taxi back. If I came back to Sardinia, I’d definitely stay here again!

An exceptionally comfortable, friendly and well-managed hotel which exceeded our expectations. Beautiful gardens, relaxed and luxurious ambience, pools, beach, restaurant. A wonderful place to recharge.

Really nice hotel. Room, pool-areas and beach within 2min walking. Hotel rooms are not too big, bathroom has a good size. Balcony a bit small. Restaurant is serving good food, though a bit pricey. would come again, nothing to complain………………

For our first proper holiday in 4 years we chose Sardinia and this hotel. We spent two weeks here and would recommend it to anyone wanting somewhere they can relax. Rooms are quite small unless you have a suite, but they are nicely furnished with very comfortable beds and good showers. We had warned ahead that my husband is coeliac, and bar and breakfast staff were fully informed. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice staffed by Valentina, Tristin and Maurizio, all very friendly and helpful. For me the coffee let it down a little, but that's a very minor thing. The major delight for us was the beautiful garden with lots of shady loungers - in September still a riot of colour and smell. Both pools were clean and fresh and there are plenty of loungers on the beach. Lunch and evenings the bar was open for drinks and snacks/small salads staffed by a very helpful barman. The restaurant in the hotel is a public restaurant so reservations required. Food is very good though on the expensive side. Pula town is a couple of km away and easily walkable - flat pavements with street lighting. Taxis are also available and during the day/early evening there is a little shuttle bus costing 1 Euro per trip. Hotel reception staff are also helpful with reservations/ advice etc.

Stunning experience ! The Hotel & Rooms are comfortable and very well decorated in details. You can immediately recognize how much love owners gives to build up such a corner of paradise in the macchia mediterranea. Staff and service are so professional and flexible. The Gardens all around the hotel and swimming pools are worthy of honors Grandi Giardini Italiani. I spent 25 years traveling around south Sardegna, finally me and my half we found the perfect place to enjoy and relax at our best ! Thank you so much for let us live your dream. The rooms are of adequate size, with well appointed bathrooms. Luckily we stayed in rooms around the courtyard, overlooking a carp pond, unlike other members of the party whose rooms overlooked the car park, albeit with greenery separating the terrace from the cars. The gardens really are quite stunning and well cared therefore it is such a shame that the management of the hotel is well below average. Restaurant service is extraordinarily bad, the food is average and overpriced. With the exception of the front desk, the hotel and bar closes at 10:30pm. A huge very expensive disappointment. Sant’Efis, you have the skeleton; a magnificent setting with wonderful planting. Sort out the management and you will be up there with exceptional hotels.

THE GOOD - Peaceful & Beautiful The gardens are beautiful and cleverly laid out so that each lounger around the long pool feels seculded. The first hotel I've ever stayed in where you didn't need to put out your towel - plenty of loungers for all. The room (basic double) was clean, comfortable bed, good shower etc. Breakfast is plentiful and high quality LOCATION We knew the location of the hotel was 30 mins walk from town when we booked so expected the need to travel into town for meals. Taxi's cost 20 Euro each way. We used the local E-Scooters instead, this cost 6-8 Euro per person, per journey. Its an easy app system to use and was quite fun, the route is mostly along a bike lane and then some roads, drivers gave us lots of space. FOOD COULD BE BETTER The hotel is missing a trick when it comes to food, the bar snack menu is limited and expensive (18 Euro sandwich/cheese meat platter). Sometimes only 3 of the 6(ish) options were available. Although you got 2 sandwiches for the price, I'd have expected some crisps/salad to accompany it. We would have happily eaten lunch at the hotel every day if it was more reasonably priced and varied. Instead, we went into town and got cheese/meat/bread/soft drinks for the hotel room fridge. There were some icecreams available at the bar, but again, hidden and a limited selection. We ate 1x evening meal at the restaurant and as others have said, it just wasn't good enough for the price. We ate better meals elsewhere, for less.
