Just returned from a lovely week's stay at nautilus Hotel barbati with tui.after reading most reviews I,d say judge for yourself .swimming snorkeling views were amazing 👏 running of the hotel must be difficult with differering nationalities but to us they put in a decent effort to please everyone.the place has a definite relax feel with excellent seating around the pool & bar plus some nice relax seating indoor areas too.the sea front decking with parasols/sun recliners /bar were excellent but accessibility to get down to them was a test but worth it. To sum it all up it's a value for money holiday suited more for couples and young families. Don't miss a trip to corfu town too local buses decent.our view from our room was amazing .thank you nautilus hope to return in the future

An excellent small hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The food was good with a brilliant selection of salads to help yourself to. The pool spotlessly clean as were the rooms. Ok, the rooms are basic but perfectly adequate and do have a TV, fridge and AC (extra cost but worth it) with small but nice clean bathroom and decent shower. They also have a balcony, ours had a sea view too. We were far too busy enjoying the pool, swimming from the decking and generally enjoying the hotel hospitality to do anything other than shower and sleep in the room. Location was ideal too with a bus stop directly outside the hotel so easy to venture out. We took a trip north on the bus costing a couple of pounds, it was like being on a scenic tour - we could even see across to Albania. You do need to be pretty mobile to hike back up from the water and the rooms are built on the hill side so probably not suitable if you have difficulty walking or breathing problems. My daughter and I enjoyed our June 2023 trip so much she has returned in September 2023 with her partner. She reports the staff remembering her and has an even better room with full sea view in the lower accommodation. I'm currently looking into when I can return. If you want a laid back no hassle holiday this is the place!

Lovely friendly hotel, all staff very welcoming, amazing views !! . It's kept very clean, both rooms and pool area. Food is lovely and plentiful , also catering for vegetarians / some fish dishes ( could provide a little more option there, but plenty of salad). It is on a steep hill with additional lower accommodation to main area, but just a couple minutes stepped walk. It is more rustic/relaxed, buffet service and return your plates, but gave it a friendly homely feel. It is a bit dated, aircon noisy (extra cost), but price reflects this.. In fact overall better than you will be paying . I was concerned of other reviews, and cost/star, but family of 4 ( 2 teenagers) all felt comfortable and would happily return.. Greek night was great fun, hotel could organise some additional activities as you are away from a town, but taxis / bus service simple and hotel happy to help arrange. Hotel shuttle to local beach and hotels additional beach side pool... Had a lovely holiday, thank you Nautilus

Very kind and happy staff, beautiful location! This is a nice place to spend a restful week or more. The hotel’s people are helpful, patience and really kind! Very good place for families with children. Clean&neat rooms, bars (hotel and beach) are full with goods!

There are definitely pros and cons to this hotel The hotel is on a very steep incline so if you have mobility problems don't go .. There is nothing within walking distance unless you want a very unsafe walk into barbati . There is a very busy road just outside the hotel . We were woken twice during our visit at 3/4 am to a car screeching around the bends .. and we wernt the only ones. There is a mini bus that goes into barbatti 3/4 days a week .. the bus isn't the best and the driver spent most of his time on the phone ! The whole place seems to be more geared up for the germans/Dutch.. not the hotels fault but some of the residents were rude . arrogant there were families dive bombing in the pool with kids still jumping in and out of the pool at 10pm (pool seemingly closes at 8) and running amok through people trying to have a meal or a drink so not the most relaxing. As for the food .. basic and boring is all I can say .. and you have to que with a tray (school canteen comes to mind) . The staff on the whole were pleasant enough but there were times when you felt that they really didn't like their jobs .. The pool is clean with decent sunbeds . Down the hill is a lovely relaxing ..area with great access into the sea for snorkeling and swimming.. there is also a beach bar that does snacks .. but beware its a very steep incline ... The views are amazing from most areas of the hotel .. The rooms are small and could do with updating as quite tatty in places . Although they supply hairdryers they are absolutely rubbish.. ( I wasn't the only one that had a problem) . The rooms were cleaned daily and the towels replaced when necessary..

I stayed at this hotel for a week on a solo holiday and was so disappointed. I have been to many Greek islands so I know what to expect from a basic Greek hotel however this was particularly bad. The worst part for me was mealtime, I was on half board so had my breakfast and dinner included, the whole meal time was just awful, I honestly wanted to cry! You have to queue up with a tray like a school canteen, help yourself to the horrendous tasteless slop they serve for dinner (no traditional Greek food) and then fight your way through the Germans to get a table in the packed loud dinner hall and clear your own plates away afterwards. I have never met such rude people as the German/Dutch guests at the hotel, no respect whatsoever for anyone but themselves! The staff at the hotel weren't much better either, it felt like they do not want to help you at all if you are English and made me feel very uncomfortable - the arrogant mini bus driver was the worst!! The rooms are very basic, the bathroom stinks of sewage and the walls are paper thin, I could hear absolutely everything going on in all the rooms/bathrooms around me and barely slept all week. The hotel is situated on a very busy main road on top of a hill so there is nothing within walking distance, I did walk/run to both nearby resorts of Ipsos and Barbati (mainly to escape the hotel!), but I took my life in my hands and had quite a few near misses with cars speeding towards me! The only 2 positives for me with this hotel were the stunning views and the sunbathing deck with access into the sea for the best snorkelling in crystal clear turquoise water, if I could've spent the whole week down there I would've done! Overall, I would definitely not return and certainly would not recommend staying here.

So if you have mobility problems Do NOT book this hotel. There are steps and slops that are difficult for an averagely fit person so for someone with issues this hotel is not good. The pool was clean and sun loungers were always available whatever time we went to the pool. The beach hut and bar were both a bit expensive but the food was plentiful and ok. The beach are was ok Gin plenty of sun loungers but we only went twice as it was on slopes and steps and not good for flip flops but it was a nice area just needed trainers on for safety really which isn't ideal when you want to sunbathe. There was no option for English food at the buffet so if you don't think you will like Greek food this hotel is not for you as that is all that is served, we ended up buying snacks and drinks from the supermarket as we didn't eat a lot from the buffet. Tea and coffee are only available at breakfast there is not a kettle in the room The shuttle bus is a good idea to get to the beach but doesn't always come and get you at 2:30pm, we waited for over half hour one day and ended up walking back to the hotel which is not the safest. I'm guessing the bus would have come at 5:30 but we wanted to get back. The bus stop outside the hotel that takes you to Corfu town or Cassopi is advertised the wrong way round, we had decided to go to Corfu town on our second day and after waiting an hour and a half for the bus we were told Corfu town was to wait on the other side of the road (but to be fair you wouldn't wait as it is like waiting in the middle of the road) We did go to Cassopi (nice place) It is 2 euro 20 and 2 euro just to go one stop. We used the bus to go to ipos but we used the shuttle bus to get to Barbati and got on the bus to Ipsos there as it was safer.(in short Dont go by the times on the timetable, Green buses are a bit unreliable) We hired a car which was brought to us at the hotel which the hotel staff sorted out for us which was ok if you don't mind driving on the wrong side of the road. (Locals can drive fast and erratically) Thinking about it we would have probably been netter with a quad. Views were stunning from the hotel room where we stayed but wandering around the hotel not all views were as stunning. (Im assuming it depends who you book with) Air conditioning was an extra 5 euro a night Beds were semi comfortable Take a citranlla candle as were were bitten alive and the wasps were everywhere, there were lots of cats at the hotel

We visited end of August 2022 , on arrival we received a friendly welcome on check in we paid €5 per night extra for air conditioning generally the same as everywhere else , the rooms were very clean and tidy with fridge and TV hair dryer and safe (at extra cost) nice balcony with sliding glass door and black out shutter chairs and table, beautiful see view as shown in pic , the breakfast was excellent every morning with a good selection of cooked food or fruit/ cereal and yougurt tea and coffee and juices ,plenty of space to comfortably sit , evening meals were also good with plenty of choice on offer greek food with lots of salad all fresh ,the food was different each night , Friday night was Greek dancing as entertainment partake when asked if you wish , very entertaining it was a relaxed atmosphere in the evening , bus stop outside hotel on road be warned busses get very busy high season so be patient, I agree with other comments about the road it is busy and not really safe to walk to barbati , we hired a car as we knew the hotel wasn't in a town , the hotel is on a steep slope and the walk up and down to the decked area and sea so probably not best for those who aren't fit and mobile , the hotel does also have another pool and bar down at barbati beach and offer a shuttle service twice a day to and from , Internet was pretty good staff very friendly and helpful we'd definitely stay here again

Wasn’t sure what to expect after seeing some reviews but pleasantly surprised. Yes the rooms are basic, but they are very clean and functional. Plenty of storage and the shower en-suite appears to be relatively new too and again very clean. We had room 104. Wonderful views over barbati and the bay, but there is some road noise. It didn’t bother us and it wasn’t horrendous and the view made up for it. Food- we were half board. Buffet breakfast and evening meal .. always a good choice of salads and eggs etc in the morning and a choice of 2/3 meals in the evenings plus dessert .. fruit always available too .. we were happy with what was served all week. Didn’t use the pool but we did use the beds on the platforms by the sea .. lovely area with direct access to the sea and toilet / beach bar . Plenty of shade available. The staff work really hard at the hotel, all are very friendly and helpful, we asked if we could have a late check out and they were able to accommodate this as we had an overnight flight . Would happily stay here again
