This Motel 6 is so odd. It has some very nice parts. When I first opened the door I was impressed. It looked clean (it is), with modern, new, updated furniture and features (very large new mirror that is backlit, marble shower walls, new modern sink and faucet, and more). The mattresses are firm, but more comfortable than I expect at a motel. They seem to be some type of foam/memory foam. I paid for the more expensive room so that we could have a fridge and microwave. Both are fine. Now, here is why I wouldn’t stay here again: although the furnishings are new and modern, they are odd and mismatched. The two bedside lamps are very different (one very tall and circular, the other shorter and a rectangle). Although we have a room with two queen beds, the room seems to be built for a king sized bed, as there is an outlet directly in the middle of the wall above the head of each bed. This means I can’t easily charge my phone while I’m on the bed. The dresser, although nice looking, is a weird trapezoid shape that juts into the room (I literally can’t figure out what one would use something like this for, or where). The beds are tall (yay!) and have these attractive black walls under them so nothing can go under the bed. Great, it looks good. They are made of metal, and we are constantly kicking them. They clang and sound like if you were to kick a filing cabinet. When you are on the bed, if you move too much, you can hear them vibrating. If you are a light sleeper, this might keep/wake you up. The TV is small (maybe 30” or so?), and uses DIRECTV. We couldn’t get the remote to work. The man in front came to our room and showed us that there is a black wire that the remote goes to, and the black wire needs to sit in front of the box so that the remote will work. There are blackout curtains (yay!) but they are too long and cover the heater/AC. There are no sheer curtains, so when we are in the room we either are on display for anyone walking by, or have blackout curtains closed and rely on fluorescent/LED lights. Bottom line: if it is late at night, you’re driving, and you just need somewhere to lay your head, it’s fine. If you actually need somewhere to stay while you’re here, don’t bother. We’re here for 3 nights, and I can’t wait to leave.

A room belonging to the transitional place, go to a place near Big Sur, there is a gas station and a fast food highway near the parking lot. The breakfast is generally not very good in all aspects of milk. It is also possible to eat without eating. It’s about an hour’s drive from Big Sur. It’s okay to live and there is no elevator. It’s more painful to live on the second floor, and the girls are ready.

Our vacation flights to Chicago were canceled due to weather conditions and we were unhappy. We decided to have a getaway to Monterey and Carmel. We were lucky to make a last minute booking by booking.com at Travelodge. The booking was easy, price was incredibly reasonable and service was excellent. The staff were not only friendly and welcoming, but also made accommodations for my physical disability. We enjoyed our trip and Will definitely go back.

The location was good assuming you had a car but do not rely on public transport. The hotel--motel was clean and well decorated and pool area well kept. The problems started with reception who were not very well informed. Could not give information on bus services and even gave wrong location for the bus stop. Before leaving I wanted to check in to two airlines. One receptionist said no problem but when I went to do it on the day another receptionist said it was against hotels privacy policy??? I then had to find a business centre and pay $40 to do ckeck in. Food / Bar was adequate but not available Sat--Mon. We were there for a week and on two days were advised there would be no room service. On a third day we had to request fresh towels as the room had been missed. I do not think the bed linen was changed during our whole stay. The biggest issue I had was with the finance department. ON settling the final account I decided to pay fully in cash and not use the debit card they had taken on arrival. On return home I found two debits on my card one for £270 which had no relation to any services. The second for £493 which was for the total bill paid for in cash. after telephone calls not responded to and four e-mails I eventually got the accountant to credit the money back a month later. still awaiting a call from Mary the manager to explain why they had taken money from my account without athorisation

We visited for a 3-day weekend celebrating my birthday. From the minute we arrived, the staff was great, friendly & very helpful. Front desk check in was easy & went really smooth. Our rooms had a partial ocean view but we loved it with or without. The rooms were spacious & had everything we needed. I loved the simplicity & charm of the decor. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch! We also loved how close it was to some of our favorite spots on Cannery Row. All in all, my birthday celebration was amazing!! We look forward to visiting Monterey again & we would definitely stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel again!

Location is good! Although service for 5 Star should be as it is in protocol. I have asked to deliver tea bags which I wanted, they provide in the room very strange flavor which is not common, I have asked via phone to provide me normal English breakfast but I was refused that they don’t have it. I still think with such a price and star hotel should satisfy the customers with any need during the stay in the hotel.

GGuest UserThe Hilton Garden Inn Monterey offers a convenient, comfortable stay in the heart of this scenic California town. Guests enjoy an indoor pool, fitness center, and on-site dining, plus easy access to top attractions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium. While lacking some local charm, it provides reliable, well-priced accommodations for both leisure and business travelers. but one of the reception woman(seems like manager) is not very polite.

GGuest UserLovely big rooms, there would be enough room for a sofa bed that would of made our stay perfect. The room was clean but there was a horrible smell in the room of wet dog. Breakfast was included with a variety of pancakes, muffins, pastry, fruit, cereals, tea, coffee and fruit juices. Great location for the aquarium and there’s a free bus that will take you to Fisherman’s wharf.

GGuest UserFriendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think. Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining... The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too. They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those. What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially. All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail.

JJINA typical American motel with a good location, just across the road is Macy's and some restaurants. There is also a drug store CVS, but unfortunately I did not buy a mask. There is a swimming pool and gym in the hotel, but the pool is small and slightly larger than the bathtub. The gym is also very small

GGuest UserBecause Carmel's accommodation options are too expensive, I want to say that I chose the lighthouse in the next town. Unexpectedly great! The room looks much bigger than the photos and the facilities are very thoughtful and complete. The fireplace is really nice and warm! !! 17 days in the United States, this is the best and favorite accommodation ~ In addition to the buffet, there is another menu to choose from (there is no extra charge). Many choices are delicious. Most of the other guests are Americans who come for vacation. It's near the sea, and there are deer nearby, suitable for watching the sunset ~~

GGuest UserGood value, especially considering how expensive the area is. We stayed at one other hotel north of this one and for an extra $150 bucks it wasn’t that much better. Rooms are a little small but adequate. Having AC isn’t always necessary but when you need it, you need it! It’s close to everything including a great stretch of beach. That’s the only drawback IMO. Rick, the manager represents the brand well!

YYUEThe biggest advantage is that the room is big and the bed is very comfortable, but the room facilities are like an old house in the 80s. Breakfast is only a simple breakfast such as coffee and yoghurt. Even the eggs are not likely to be expensive. Carmel is worth more than two hundred dollars.

GGuest UserWhere to start! We arrived and we were told we couldn’t check in as the hotel had been fully booked the previous night and the rooms still were not ready. So we waited, then at the time we were told to return, the power to the hotel went down. So the lobby was rather full of people waiting to get to their rooms. Drinks vouchers were issued for the bar. When we eventually got to the reception to check in, hours later! We were told the car parking fee would be waived for our stay of two nights. There were four of us in one car and we had booked two rooms. So we were happy with that. The rooms are small, looking tired and not particularly special in any way, motel rather than hotel. After two nights, we checked out, both rooms had been charged for the car parking, despite only having one car, we were told it would be credited, still waiting! We also forgot to pack a jacket that was in the wardrobe. We were advised by the hotel they use a company to reunite owners with items they have left. This service is costing us $189 to have this jacket sent back to Europe, a complete rip off and does nothing to enhance the customer service at the Tides. When we checked out, we were amazed at the total, apart from not crediting the two lots of car parking, the room per night including taxes was so overpriced for what you actually got. The location is wonderful, no doubt about that, but the hotel, there are better locally that are not worn out, tired and to be honest need a fair amount spent on it to warrant the ridiculous amount they charged. This was the worst experience we had on our month long road trip.
