Carmel Inn & Suites

Rose at the front desk did a great job in trying to help correct the many problems. First, the carpets were so dirty that my white socks were soiled black from all the dirt. I then made sure I wore shoes constantly. Two, the bed was not made every day, they missed 3 days. On one of those days I found housekeeping and asked them to make it up. Third, every time the television was turned off, the cable signal was lost. Rose came to help us 3 times and then showed me how to reset it. I had to undo a cable in the back of the tv every time for it to reset. Fourth, the pool and part of the property were under construction. This information should have been shared by your website. Finally, The photo online showing a charming continental breakfast area does not reflect the current reality of the situation. A basket was placed outside your door every morning with cereal, milk, yogurt or fruit or orange juice. This was basic and not really appealing after several days.

I checked-in online that morning like it suggested and my room was still not ready by check in time. The room was dirty, someone's shoes were left in a closet. Hair on the bathroom sink. The bed was comfortable, at least. That and the fact that it was quiet were the only good things about this place.

For its location and price, the Carmel Inn & Suites was a good deal and comfortable stay. It is well located easy to walk into town, and had adequate parking. Staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms are cute like Gramma's house, and everything was clean and fresh except the floor. The floor needed a serious scrub and steam clean. It looked clean, but even a few steps in bare feet and our soles were black! The amenities were as listed, fridge w/freezer, coffee maker and hairdryer all clean and functional. They have us plenty of towels for 2 people. I can tell they are in the process of updating things, some stuff was newer quality, like bedding and towels, other stuff was older, like the curtains. I felt safe and comfortable for our 1 night stay. I would return and recommend to friends.

Pros: Nice, clean, spacious, good location. Cons: you can hear door slams and people talking outside the hallway. View from the window is a blank white wall of next building, gives you claustrophobia. Stair is a little shaky to go up and down.
