Great hotel in a perfect location. The room was lovely, breakfast was excellent and staff in this boutique hotel were friendly and knowledgeable. Very easy access to the station meant visiting the Cinque Terre, Genoa, Sestri Levante, La Spezia and beyond is quick, easy and inexpensive. We spent a week hiking in the area and loved everything. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was almost empty when we stayed, and as a result was very tranquil. The staff were helpful, and the room was comfortable; we ate in Orto one evening, which lived up to expectations. Breakfast was also good, although there were several items expensively priced as additional (such as a second coffee) which we would have expected to be included in the standard price.

The best and certainly most comfortable Italian hotel I have ever stayed in! First off, the rooms are decorated individually in a fun, quirky way with an interesting mixture of antiques and contemporary soft furnishings. The bed was so comfortable, it was a pleasure to fall into at the end of a long day of hiking, sight-seeing or swimming. The en-suites are very good with excellent water pressure and a nice lightly scented selection of shampoos, body wash, soap and hand/body creme. The food is excellent here. Even the breakfasts are amazing. So nice to not face another boring British Fry-up. Everything is healthily portion-controlled and tastes divine. The weather was accommodating so I was able to take in breakfast in the gardens, what a way to wake up gently. The cappuccino and the staff are both excellent. I had my family who was staying elsewhere in town in for dinner at the Bistro one night and it was heaven. The food was gorgeous and the best we had the entire trip, they all enjoyed sitting in the garden drinking wine and sharing dessert and entrees. The convenience to the town and the train station goes without saying. I loved walking down the back path overlooking the church to meet up with my family. The pool was an excellent temperature and so clean, just like the rest of the hotel. Francesca and her family do a super job and I look forward to returning. Just go, you won't regret it.

We loved the welcome and help given by everyone in the hotel. The rooms are a bit small but absolutely clean, smart and comfortable. Breakfast is well provided and served. If you’re not sure about anything then ask as the staff are very keen to make you happy. We would have liked a better more varied lunch menu as it’s more like a dinner menu and changes to the dinner menu through the week as it’s limited. Also the ability to make tea and coffee in the lounge would be a real plus as the rooms are too small to have facilities to make drinks. Perhaps it’s not normal in Italy to provide in room facilities but I’ve stayed in similar properties in Spain where they have a machine in the lounge. All in all a lovely location for hiking and visiting the area. Nobody really mentioned the trains and noise as all the hotels and villages in the cinque terre have to live with it. You get used to it and as we used the trains every day I can’t complain just expect it. Thanks Villa Edera for a great and memorable holiday.

Such a gem of a hotel! the loveliest staff and fabulous food, as well as a fabulous location and beautiful grounds. We loved our stay here which was a perfect location. close enough to Cinque Terra but far enough away from the crowds!

This is a brilliant example of how a family run hotel should function. The owner, her daughter or other staff were always available to help and advise about places to see and how to get there. All the staff were friendly and able to speak good English as well as tolerate my terrible Italian. Eating at the hotel bistro was good but there are also good places in Moneglia - a 10 minute stroll downhill. Coming back can be made easier by the hotel’s own elevator from the train station (half way to town) up to the hotel garden gate. There is a Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel separate from the hotel’s bistro. We dined there once - the tasting menu was ok but IMO not worth the Michelin inflated price - the cost of 3 very good bistro meals. Come here if you want a relaxing holiday in a family run hotel with friendly service and great ambience. Don’t come if you prefer a massive 5 star chain hotel. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was well worth the extra cost. We will return.

This amazing hotel is everything you dream about in a boutique hotel in Italy and rarely experience. Not only is it beautiful and set in gorgeous gardens on the side of a hill, it has big fluffy towels, great pillows, superb bed linen and even a turn down service with fresh waffle towels. The owner and manager was very hands on and the receptionist so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The bar was excellent and served up canapés in the evening. The bar service extended to the lovely pool area. It was seldom crowded and large enough to swim lengths. The decor was colourful with each room individually decorated with high quality fabrics and cushions. We saw the junior suite and it was magnificent with large terraces and great bathroom area. The breakfast was served over a garden area, indoors and on a terrace. It was the best breakfast I have had in a hotel in Italy. There is a Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel which we experienced during our stay. The Chef can be seen out collecting herbs and vegetables from the garden! It was a wonderful experience. The Bistro was very good too and we ate there for 2 nights. There is a beach club you can use nearby, also very nice with a great cafe/restaurant. My 4 friends and I were staying there as part of an Inntravel holiday but all of us agreed we would love to return independently very soon! Moneglia is a delightful town and a perfect base to visit the Cinque Terre and even Portofino. The train station is 2 minutes walk and via a lift ( great for luggage) and there are frequent trains in both directions. They can be noisy but that did not bother me in the slightest. There are several very good restaurants in Moneglia, about 10 mins walk. What a perfect place to stay.

If you are looking for a peaceful setting to enjoy Michelin star local cuisine and fine wines offered by a family who is passionate, caring and super professional then Villa Edera is the place for you. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and the relaxing pool and outside dining areas puts you in a good mood. Loads of walking paths and beaches to visit nearby. Minutes from the trains station via a private elevator.

Really well run hotel with friendly and helpful owner and staff. It was unfortunate that my wife had an accident whilst walking in the hills and fractured her foot. Orietta, the owner, was wonderful and looked after us very well as did her staff. Food excellent, rooms very clean but you need to be a bit fit as the site is on several levels. There are several lifts. Excellent pool. Moneglia is a typical Italian sea side resort with plenty of decent restaurants. Even though our holiday was somewhat curtailed by the accident we would definitely go again.
