I didn't get his name, but the bar/convenience guy was amazing. We were there on 11/25 and he was helping us all day. He was the friendliest, kindest person I've met in a long time. Definitely made our visit the best.

Considering this is a motel located in middle of nowhere right on the border of Nevada and Utah on US Highway 50, the loneliest road in America, the accommodation and facilities in general are perfect for what you need when visiting Great Basin National Park, which entrance is located less than 10 miles away. Decent food and breakfast at the motel restaurant, and staff is courteous and professional. I stayed two nights and it was exactly what I needed. I would stay at this motel again. There is also a gas station right next to the motel and electric vehicles charging station, which I did not use.

It was quiet, clean and comfy, however there was no tv and the internet was weak to none! AND it was way to expensive! But it was convenient!

You pull up to the motel and instantly think "Bates Motel!" but we were surprised to find it better than we thought. It was good for one night. Beds were only double and a little hard and no breakfast. The restaurant on site was pretty good - not a lot of options in the area :)

Putrid smells of rotting food emanating from the sink set the tone for this tired motel.
Screens on the sink drains might have prevented most food accumulation in a kitchenette room.
Price was high considering facilities, but competition is low and the location is close to Great Basin National Park.
It serves the basic travel needs, so set expectations low and you will be fine.

Yes it’s pretty much in the middle of the desert, limited options for anything. The room itself was clean and there was no smells. The bed was actually comfy and we slept well. The shower was adequate and there was enough towels. Overall it was a good nights stay.

I stay at the Border Inn twice a year when driving between our homes in California and Utah. It's not a fancy place, but it is friendly, and dog-friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The onsite restaurant is surprisingly good.
