Hotels near Ex-Hacienda in Merida

I stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of my trip to Progreso, February 28th and March 30th, as I was arriving late and departing early. Both of my rooms were impeccably clean, the amenities were provided and well stocked with towels. The closets are huge and contain an iron and a safe large enough for a laptop. Upon my first check-in I was advised the hours of the restaurant and was politely asked that if I was planning on bringing in food or alcohol from outside to please consume it in my room and not in the restaurant. This is not an unreasonable request, one would not walk into a hotel restaurant at home and sit down with a pizza and six pack. I had a comfortable night's rest and a delicious breakfast at the restaurant in the morning. Check out was noon and my ride was not arriving until 2:30 so they kindly stored my luggage and I enjoyed sitting by the pool while I waited. My second visit was for my return flight, I checked in just after 3:00 and was offered a wake up call and arrangement of a taxi to take me to the airport. I spent my last day of vacation enjoying a late lunch/early supper and a couple of cold beverages poolside before heading to my room to turn in early. My wake up call came precisely @4:00 and my taxi was there @5:00 as requested. I would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it, the staff are outstanding, the hotel is spotless and the restaurant food and service are fabulous. Masks were required at all times in public areas, unless you were eating or drinking, this policy was adhered to by all staff and guests.

Good location. It becomes noisy from the morning - the road is nearby. The poor location of the air conditioner - it blows right on the bed, on the night it must be put at least, otherwise it will be sold. The hotel has its own parking, big plus. From the downsides: the room could not be closed outside, the castle did not work; it should be repaired

This great old hotel is in a 1902 building directly across from one of the central churches and plazas. As such the rooms on the outside are noisy; mine was, from bars and church bells. It also served as an incredible perch to watch the city life from. However, when I stay again (which I would) I will request a courtyard-facing room which will be much quieter. Service is very good, amenities OK, room clean. Multiple parking places nearby but be careful if you have an early flight and ask when they open in the morning. Walking distance to everything. Lots and lots of people trying to sell men's shirts, I didn't know that was a thing, but now I do. Many restaurants etc. nearby.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, and the hotel is located in the heart of the city centre. They have poor distribution and need a lot of maintenance. They stayed in the 80s. 3. In one of the rooms the sawns had blood. Cua do was asked for change was made it easy for them to give clean sawns instead of going to change them. Obviously we do not accept that. 4. The price is very reasonable but it is also true that for 300 pesos more we could go to the Inn party where I had already stayed some time before and it is completely different, but this occasion I wanted to be near the center. I regretted foot was better to go and come. The hotel is very nice and it is only like in the photos. Check out a second option in the centre even if it costs a little more or go a little further before you stay**** in this place.

When we arrived the first thing I noticed was my dirty towel, it was covered in black marks. The beds were reasonably comfy and the television displayed most channels clearly. The hotel is in a decent area, it will take about 10 mins to walk into the main square and there are plenty convenience stores nearby. However, the toilet door locked itself so we were one day without the en-suite. As if this wasn’t bad enough, the water taps need to be turned off very tightly or else they would make noises akin to that of a dying cat. I was woken up by this multiple times. Also, the wifi did not work in the room unless you were hugging the door in the hallway. The saving grace was that the air con worked well and on command. Without this I wouldn’t have lasted. The pool is small and is decent enough for a paddle in but not exercise, lengths or games. Thankfully we didn’t spend too much time in the room due to the tours offered by the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place for more than a bed to sleep in. To top it off, the walls are so thin. You can hear those staying next to you. El hotel está muy bien ubicado, justo a un costado del Teatro Peón Contreras y a una cuadra de la catedral y el parque central. Se trata se una casa colonial de dos pisos, bien remodelada y con elevador y una pequeña piscina., amplios pasillos de hermosos pisos de loseta antiguos y un hermoso jardín central con dos árboles de mamey enormes que generan un ambiente muy agradable y hermosas vistas. El servicio que no es del todo malo podría mejorar si se capacita al personal de la recepción. No está mal ni merecen una queja pero les falta ser más atentos y corteses. Felicito al joven Omar que es muy servicial y bien dispuesto. Las recamareras muy bien capacitadas, muy amables y gentiles. Siempre de buen humor. La ciudad de Mérida en cambio, es una gran decepción. La he visitado a lo largo de cuarenta años y nunca había estado en tan malas condiciones. Ha llegado demasiado gente foránea. Los negocios como restaurantes, hoteles, cafés, bares ya no los administran yucatecos sino gente de fuera. Las artesanías que se venden, excepto los huipiles y las guayaberas, lo demás es ajeno y de pésima calidad y muy mal gusto. Hay policía y patrullas por todas partes y a todas horas. Hay basura acumulada en los parques y el mobiliario urbano en malas condiciones. Los costos ahora son excesivos.
