A return visit for us as we visit family close by. Only one staff member doing front of house and bar but he was very friendly, helpful and busy on our arrival and afternoon drinks. Breakfast was great with more staff today on hand to help. Room clean and tidy- very welcoming. The stay did not disappoint. I am sure we will be back!

We've been using the Kings Arms for business meetings several times per month for the last year or so. We're always greeted with a smile and well looked after by Carly and the rest of the staff there. Foods great (breakfast & lunch) and their Coach House meeting room ticks all the boxes at a reasonable day hire rate.

Very atmospheric old coaching inn. Staff were welcoming. Food was ok but typical Butcombe out of a packet and reheated fare. I heard the kitchen bell ping three times for service for our order to be served, staff chatting, when our plates were finally bought out the food was barely warm due to waiting.

The accommodation was fantastic, room cleaned daily, bottles of water given every day, beautiful comfy bed slept so well. staff were so accommodating, I drink soya milk and they had run out but within 15 minutes bought some to our room. The breakfast choices were amazing and the quality superb, we stayed here for 3 nights and cannot fault it. The staff were so friendly I would have no hesitation staying there again.

Great atmosphere with live music and a cosy feel. The pints hit just right when your in a place like this. Can't say there would be much to impove on. Quick service and a lovely character to the place! I'm also pretty sure its dog freindly if that helps anyone!

Five of us (4 adults and a child) went for my Fathers 74th birthday for a meal. First 2 out of 5 drinks were wrong. A party of six locals were swearing constantly on the next table, in earshot of my 10 year old. After 20 minutes we were asked what food we wanted so we were told the plant burger was probably unavailable so perhaps we just order starters while he checked. As starters come we are told burger was not available, so we order alternatives only to find chicken cassoulet also not available. My Wife also was given a knife and fork for the soup. So we ordered something else for mains. Mains arrive, the 3 haddock all had the black skin on the fish under the batter. My daughter’s chicken was raw and smelled bad, my daughter was later sick 4-5 times in the night. The cress that came with my steak was yellow and clearly days past it sell by date. A terrible meal, eat here at you own risk. The drinks are good and have been here for pub quiz on others days. So it’s probably fine to have a drink, but eating is a no no.

First time visit for lunch, pre booked, a friendly welcome and offered the option of a different table for more room for the 4 of us. Very clean, fresh surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent and friendly staff, interesting menu with something for the adventurous as well as traditional dishes. Our food was excellent in all respects and would happily recommend to others, well worth our long-ish journey. Thank you, and compliments to all the staff

Beautiful pub, lovely warm fire and a warm welcome but it went downhill from there. No mussels so had calamari to start. It was ok just warm and not a lot of it. We had the confit chicken for our main meal and again it was just lukewarm and the chicken was tough and seemed to have been reheated it was certainly not freshly cooked and the cassoulet was just stodge. We did mention this to the host who did kindly comp our desert but I would rather have had a hot tasty meal. Disappointing really on our day out. Wine was good though so that helped.

We stayed overnight. Room was lovely, modern and clean. Bathroom also clean, shower powerful, but a little cramped. Public areas all nice. Evening meal was good, but nothing spectacular for the money. Breakfast on the other hand was superb. Cooked to order and delicious. All staff from Andy the general manager to all the young team members attentive and friendly.
