Ardwell Bed & Breakfast

Excellent bed and breakfast. Very hospitable hosts. It was a very comfortable, quiet stay. On arrival we were welcomed with a cup of tea and .homemade gingerbread. A good breakfast with fresh fruit salad. The b&b is actually in Mauchline, a few miles from Ayr. I certainly recommend staying here.

Very clean room with everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. The owners were lovely and attentive. We enjoyed our stay at this bed & breakfast.

A delightful welcome from Una with a pot of tea and some lovely cakes on arrival made a great start! The accommodation is excellent - with a large bedroom, en suite and dining room being the upper floor of a dormer bungalow, with a separate entrance for guests. A very early breakfast was superb - cereals, fresh fruit and eggs on toast, and to top it all, a lift in the car to the railway station in nearby Auchinleck for my return journey home!

I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful guest house recently. Una and Morton are lovely, welcoming hosts and the ensuite bedrooms are a joy to sleep in. Breakfast is also delicious Will definitely visit again.

Ardwell B&B is a lovely place to stay. Very generous room with an excellent ensuite bathroom. Everything was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast on Sunday was delicious and plentiful. Our hosts couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. I would heartily recommend it and would very happily stay at Ardwell again.

We were met by Morton, one half of the couple who run this lovely bed and breakfast, with a cheery smile and invited immediately into their warm home. We, my 9 year old daughter and I stayed here as part of our 1900 mile charity hike, and we immediately felt welcome and at home. Morton invited us to sit and rest, whilst he brought us up a huge tea pot full of steaming hot tea and several slices of cake and pie. It was the best and warmest welcome you could hope for. The room was huge, clean, and warm and the beds felt like we were the first and only people to lay in them! Best of all, there were two massive velux windows that gave views across the local countryside and cool fresh air throughout the night. Perfect for a father and daughter who spend most of the time sleeping in tents. We had a lovely restful night waking refreshed and ready to tackle another hike, but not before we met Una, Morton’s lovely wife at breakfast. We had arranged breakfast at 7.30 am which is early, but we were made to feel that nothing was too much effort for the lovely Morton and Una. The breakfasts were perfect, and we left feeling full and ready to take on anything the day could throw at us. That day we walked 16 miles not stopping till after dark! Thank you Morton and Una. The Scottish borders offer some some of the best motorcycle riding in the UK, along with some fantastic vistas, and the Ardwell is a great base from which to explore them. Una and Morton are both very welcoming and coffee and cake on arrival is very welcoming after a long ride. The B&B is pretty close to town and there are takeaways and restaurants within easy walking distance. The tarmacked drive is a real bonus when you're on a heavy motorbike and the spacious rooms are great when you have loads of motorcycle gear. The rooms are well appointed with plenty of sockets for charging Bluetooth devices and the bed was lovely and comfortable. This was my third visit to the Ardwell and, as before, Una's breakfasts did not disappoint! She gets her meat products from three local butchers and the quality certainly shows. Una and Morton are great people and I always enjoy my time at their lovely B&B. I am pretty certain that I will be back, again. Another 10/10

With a friendly welcome and tea and cakes on arrival my stay here was easily 11/10 ! The bed was super comfy with the softest sheets ever!! Breakfast was delicious and am looking forward to going back again soon.

Fantastic accommodation, hosts professional and friendly. Breakfast was superb with high quality ingredients and beautifully presented in dining area. A perfect stay would highly recommend to others. Thank you for the tray of tea and cake which was much appreciated after a long journey.
