We really enjoyed this establishment and were able to enjoy our last moments in Sri Lanka until the end thanks to a late check-out :) All the staff are attentive, accommodating and efficient! The buffet is varied and suitable for several types of palates. The rooms are large, clean and well equipped. The BIG plus of this hotel is the magnificent swimming pool which is at an ideal temperature!

We chose to stay at Seerock for 2 nights when we went to Sigiriya. Sigiriya and Thoppigala is about a 20-minute drive from here. The staff members are super friendly and polite. The food was delicious (we had all three meals). Rooms are really spacious, clean, and tidy. We booked 2 rooms (Gajaba and Harindra) for 4 of us. One room comes with a jacuzzi, and the other one had a plunge pool. In the morning, you can hear peacocks 🦚 calling. The restaurant and the bar are on the upper floor. You can see the upper part of the Sigiriya and Thoppigala rocks from the restaurant. The pool was clean and spacious. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves to stay close to nature.

This is not our first stay at the hotel. This was our 3rd or 4th visit and it is the last for sure due to their poor customer handling and management. I must say that our previous stays were fabulous and i have made positive reviews in TripAdvisor for those. However, this time most of the staff are new to us and not so friendly and caring as the ones who were there earlier starting from the front office. They just don't care, I don't know if its because we are local travellers. On the other hand, the ”amberella” welcome drink is awesome as always. We stayed in a Duplex as there were 4 adults and my 9 month old baby. The rooms were clean and spacious. The living area was giving a calming vibe and had the same look as their other villas we have stayes before. Our baby, husband and I were in the upstair room and when we entered the room is was heated up and the air conditioner was not working properly. It was so uncomfortable so we called the front office and they sent a team to repair. It was taking alot of time so we requested for another room as our baby was feeling tired and needed a nap. Plus, they had adequate rooms vacant and even had Duplex category rooms available too. Still, they refused to shift us to another room so we kept the baby in the ground floor room. The repair took around 2 hours! And then we went to the room and the air conditioner was working. Yet, we were not able to have a nap and relax as we had to go out to Anuradhapura which is the main reason for our visit. So we came back at around 9.30pm and the air conditioner was not working again. Again the same drill, a team came, inspected and told us they need to repair again and it was 11.45pm when they said this. We refused because we were already exhausted as needed to sleep. Also, now, at 11.45 at night they are asking us if we can move to another room (Duplex category). They had vacant Duplex category rooms all this time and in the moddle of the night they are asking us to shift. In my head I was bursting but we were all too tired to keep arguing or leaving the useless place so we stayed in the same Duplex room just till morning. Early morning we left the hotel without breakfast eventhough we had paid for full board. They charged us the whole amount and invoiced for the additional food as well as mini bar (just mentioned this if not someone could think that they must've given a discount or wave-off). So we paid almost 500USD just for one night for this drama. We will never go back to this hotel and not at all recommend. I guess the main issue was poor management of the situation and it shows how poor the hotel management is. We were in Duplex 3 (Kohomba). This hotel staff or management will never care about the customer if something goes wrong and lacks hospitality. Afterall, while we were having our breakfast we got a call from the general manager of the hotel and he apologized but I think it is too late as we have already left their property. I don't know the common sense of Sri Lanka, so it may be normal, but from the Japanese, there was a little color 々 bad point. First of all, when I arrived at midnight, I contacted him on watsapp in advance, and I received an understanding email from the other side, but when I went, the gate was closed, and a person called and came out, but the story didn't go through. Confirmed the reservation as if it was To. I managed to check in, but the bed was full of insects and gecko feces. When I tried to boil the hot water, the pot had old white and muddy water, and something white was floating. Is it a karki when I wash the pot? White ones are attached and cannot be removed. There are no slippers, so it seems better to bring them with you. There are no amenities. Only shampoo and body lotion. I have bath towels but no towels. I didn't have a hair dryer, so when I asked the front desk, there was no hair dryer. The comforter is only sheets. I tried to store hot water in the bathtub, but I called the front desk because it was broken or there was little water and the metal fittings of the faucet were damaged. He said he would send someone, but no one came, and he put up with the bath and only took a shower. The water pressure in the shower is weak and the temperature is not stable. There were days when hot water did not come out at all, so I took a water shower. The ceiling of the shower room is open air, and mosquitoes are all-you-can-eat in the bathroom. There were spiders and there were several frogs in the shower. Well, because it is a hotel in nature, some insects were prepared, but the bad person may not be good. I lowered the tag on the doorknob to clean the room while I was out, but I was surprised when I came back, and the room hadn't changed since I left in the morning and it wasn't cleaned up. I had no choice but to change only the bath towel. The staff are friendly and nice, but is this kind of service normal in Sri Lanka? It's a mystery. The impression below the business hotel in Japan is honest.

This was the second time I visited Heritance Kandalama and it was better than the last stay especially I would like to mention the Guest Relations Executive Miss. Yoshina for taking care of our family and fulfilling all our needs with all the needed information with her efficient style and making the stay comfortable also big shoutout to the chefs food was beyond amazing and the restaurant staff was very active as well and also the suite was amazing with all the amenities that should be there in a room overall a 10/10 experience and a must visit place in Sri Lanka ♥️
