I stayed at this hotel for a destination wedding that was taking place near by so it was nice to have a large group of people there to mingle with as this hotel is very small and very quiet, almost to quiet, unless you don't mind that kind of atmosphere. It was personally to ”in the middle of nowhere” for me and I would have only stayed maximum 2 nights if I had a choice. With that being said, it had a very historical authentic Italian village feel and was extremely well maintained. Very nice enchanting décor thought-out and very clean everywhere. The pool was small but nice and necessary as you can imagine in July how hot it was! The views from from the hotel were gorgeous as it is located on a hill in the countryside so you are surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The sunset's were stunning! The food was quite good as well.

Nice structure. nice staff. There are adequate services. However, full outdoor parking Saturday night due to the restaurant's customers so much that they can't park. In addition, when we arrived the room was cold: I think if guests arrive, the environment must be prepared to be comfortable (and this also takes into account the hotel level and the costs). What a beautiful location. A historic villa surrounded by breathtaking scenery and transformed into a quality hotel with respect for traditions and history. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly Claudia, who did everything to meet our room requirements. All the staff are friendly, obliging and very helpful. Everyone deserves a compliment, but we would like to mention two people in particular because they really stood out during our stay. Firstly Susana, who, as responsible for the whole, was literally everywhere at the same time during our stay, and who coordinated the activities with flair, flexibility, insight and customer focus. A professional lady with knowledge of her job, sincere kindness and a warm heart, who was always ready to help or provide information. We also want to mention Vasil. A devil-does-all who was always ready and who noticed everything to take appropriate action right away. Friendly, warm, obliging, professional and discreet, that is what characterizes him. La Ghirlanda can be proud of employees such as Susana and Vasil. Regarding the accommodation: it is top notch. Quiet and very rural, quality service, good food, exquisite wines, comfortable rooms with all amenities, a well-located base to explore the Umbria region and the Sagrantino terroir. In between, you can also relax by the pool where you have a literally astonishing view of the surrounding Umbrian hills, the unspoiled nature and the enormous estate of the Count Pongelli-Benedettoni family, where top wines, olive oil and many other organic products are made with respect for nature. We had a very adventurous tour of the estate in a Polaris all-terrain vehicle with expert explanations from Guilhelmo, son of the Count, who provided us with all necessary clarifications with flair, in a very warmly and knowledgeable manner. We will be back for sure!
