Riad Shanima Spa Marrakech

Beautiful Riad. Asma and her team were delightful and always with a smile. The Hammam and Spa is great too. Location was perfect, walking distance to the souks and Medina. The breakfast spread was good. Overall a romantic stay for couples. Highly recommended.

The staff was incredibly helpful. They assisted with rides, tours, and anything we needed. They even anticipated our needs. The riad is super clean, the hammam and massage services are excellent and the food is delicious! Thank you Asma, Abil & team. You made our stay so wonderful!

This place is amazing they made you like family and special from the moment we got off the plane and met our amazing driver i will come back one day and i highly recommend this place

Riad Shanima in the alleyway of ****t Aouzal by Royal Palace “Dar Moha” is in the northwest of o Old Medina Marrakesh. Stayed several nights - each was better than the previous. Jalil well spoken in English and the other French speaking gentleman very good too. Same faces every day same cleaner same manager called Asma I think . Rooms are spacious and very clean - were cleaned daily. Breakfast: warm breads Moroccan, French and brown served and kept warm in tagines. Requested a fruit and extra warm milk or hot coffee and was offered without hesitation. Daily squeezed fresh orange juice, honey homemade jams and once had eggs as well. A family atmosphere, a riad strongly built - withstood the 6.8 richter earthquake on Thursday 7 Sep 2023- thick walls & no cracks. all guests stayed in the centre courtyard nobody ventured out on the soot ridden alleyways due to some debris- we all felt safe in this riad. Jalil 2am -3h later gave out cold bottles of water to all of us despite his concern of the health of his family - humanity and hospitality in its best. We thank you. Will be back again. Highly recommend this Riad.

It is a lovely little oasis. The staff, especially Asma and Jaleel, is incredible. The pool and the rooftop patio are really nice. I would often go for a swim then have a drink on the rooftop patio every evening before dinner. The rooms are very nice and clean. Lovely breakfast and great coffee.

Literally an oasis in the desert! What an amazing find! We were in Marrakesh for my brother-in-laws 50th and not having anything to do with booking the accommodation, I wasn't sure what to expect. We were met by Adil at the point when the taxi from the airport stopped. The taxi ride was about a 20 minute journey but then we had to walk through some side streets to get to a door in a wall. You would not know that behind the door is an amazing Riad. Adil met us at the taxi drop off with a typical Marrakesh cart for our luggage and he took us to the door in the wall and let us into what I think must be one of the best run Riads in Marrakesh. The staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and they will do anything to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be. The location is perfect. It is away from the busy main streets but close enough to be in the thick of it within 10 minutes. Marrakesh can initially look very confusing but it doesn't take long to get your bearings. I read before I left the UK to not take any jewellery, leave technology at home, be prepared to be hassled in the souks etc. Not once did I feel like we would be mugged or pick-pocketed. Quite the opposite, the experience I had was a warm, friendly super welcoming city. Of course the shop keepers are going to hassle you to go into their shops and once you are in they do not want you to leave until you have spent some money, but leaving without spending and saying no thank you is part of it. Equally, haggling for a price if you do want something is also very much part of it. Embrace it, have fun, know what you want to pay and walk away if you don't get the price you want, they will soon call you back if there is a deal to be had. Its all part of the experience. Have fun and just be street wise. Back to the Riad, all of the staff were amazing but I have a special call out for Adil and Jalil......two guys who will do anything for you. Asma, (the manager) was so so helpful and the owner of the Riad (a French Doctor) was amazing when we needed some medical help. We were lucky he was their on vacation and didn't mind helping out. You will not be disappointed with Riad Shanima......if you are looking for a true Marrakesh experience, this is the place to stay. Oh, and you won't go hungry there! The breakfast is very generous.

I cannot praise this accommodation enough. It was more than just a place to stay for our 5 nights in Marrakech. We arrived quite late, tired from our trip and were greeted with such warmth. We were given the option to settle in and change before coming down to a meal which had been prepared for us but we were under no pressure. It was really quite late by the time we ate and yet everyone was so patient and kind. I highly recommend having this first meal here. The food was excellent and even though we ate well everywhere, on our last night we chose to eat at the Riad again as it was the best of all our meals!. The manager, Asma and her colleague Jalil just epitomise good hosts. Friendly, helpful in every respect but left us to just use the Riad , with its excellent modern and well finished facilities, as if it were home with permanent access to the balcony space above our room. This just made for the most relaxed of environments. When I felt a bit daunted by going into town for my henna tattoo, Asma arranged for a local lady to come and do that for me on the balcony and it became an event in itself. We were free to come and go with ease at any time and no problem about super early starts for balloon trips or leaving. Really, I know it is written a lot but at this Riad, they really couldnt do enough for us. We were able to buy water and wine from them at any hour and there were always very friendly staff there to help. You really do feel like a part of the family by the time you sadly have to leave. It was my first time in Marrakesh; while I was nervous about picking the right spot. I am glad I choose this spot because the staff there is amazing. The execution of everything is amazing; we were picked up from the airport, dropped off and walked right to the Riad. Asme (I believe I spelt her name right); she’s the manager. She went above and beyond, she sat my mother and myself down, explained the areas that we should and should not visit. She also spoke about the places we should visit, recommended the tours we should take. Explained how the currency works in marrakesh/morocco. Even when she booked us the atv tour; she called me during the tour to make sure everything was ok and even followed up after the tour. Another person who should get kudos is Jalil, he was my favorite person during our stay as well, he was always asking me how I am- making sure I had everything I needed. He even offered to buy us local tea & coffee so I can bring back to friends as souvenirs. This is the place to stay if you want to feel like on vacation and people looking after you. Trust me when I say my mom and I were sad about leaving the place. They executed everything perfectly and the standards were held high. Honestly I wouldn’t mind coming back
