Tombolo Talasso Resort

This hotel was booked for our last two nights to relax. When we got there it was taken over by an Italian work party. They took all of the beach seats. And stood outside rooms smoking until 3am. No air con and they made noise through the corridors until 4am. We complained the next day and the manager smirked and said we were lying! We checked out after one night!

The rooms at this resort were spacious and comfortable. The grounds were well maintained. Rooms and public spaces were immaculate.There is a lovely private beach behind the hotel. Guests can also enjoy an array of services at their spa, which I arrived too late to enjoy. Meals in the hotel restaurant were very good. I attended a work retreat here, but would enthusiastically return for a personal vacation.

Everything about this place was amazing - amazing location, rooms, spa, restaurant and bar and service in general. Just steps off the beach, this special resort and spa is truly unique. The structure and rooms are all beautifully modern yet warm and inviting. The restaurant and food were also surprisingly amazing. When it comes to hotel spas usually the food and wine take a backseat but not at Tombolo Talasso. Everything was at the same high level. I was pleasantly taken aback. Tombolo Talasso Resort is also unique in that it can be a peaceful solo or couples retreat but also great for business travel and corporate - or events events. The real star (besides the staff) is the Spa. I opted for the Thalassotherapy Path in the Caves which was out of this world. Equipped with 5 different pools and hydrotherapies - all with water coming straight from the nearby sea! I cannot say enough about this. I had been suffering from some health issues and had read about certain water therapies helping. The cavernous spa was absolutely stunning. It felt as if I stepped into another universe. But the water itself and the order of the baths and pressures of each were geniunely healing and therapeutic. I also treated myself to an Ayurvedic Massage by Annalisa. One of the most transforming massages I've had - mind, body, and soul. Grazie mille Annalisa! Sei FANTASTICA. Do yourself a favor and book a treatment for the day - or an overnight stay at Tombolo Talasso Resort. What a wonderful experience. I can't wait to get back there hopefully soon!

Negative experience all around and remarkably below to a five star hotel. On several occasions staff was unhelpful and dismissive even for basic requests. The dinner was a slow and painful process whit several mistakes by the waiting staff. Reception and concierge was unhelpful and the service closer to a decent three star. Rooms ok but lacking the standard five star amenities including a volatile turn down service. Shame for all of that because the structure is very nice. Kudos to the mini club staff and barmam.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my wife, six year son, and friends who have a kid the same age. Overall, the resort is well thought out and convenient for young kids. The beach is nearby and clean, the swimming pool is ideally sized and located. The kids club has short hours, but the staff is friendly and fun. However, the structure itself is past its prime, the beach is nothing to write home about, the rooms are small and fairly anonymous. The best part is the staff, impeccably helpful, smiling, and kind. The spa was also excellent. The worst part is the restaurants. Their menu items sound interesting, with elaborate names, but the execution is not up to the level you would expect for the prices or a five star hotel. The food is generally bland and barely sufficient. It was a pleasant stay and we had a good time, but definitely it was overpriced. If I had to go back, i would definitely avoid the restaurants.

The quality of the food is really low. The hotel website describes the restaurant by quoting Alain Ducasse and “good km” local products. In reality our food experience was awful and our impression is that all the food is PRESERVED and low quality, NOT fresh at all: pasta with lobster is a fake as body and head of lobster are completely empty; gnocchi are those that you can buy in the supermarket expiring after one year; bolognese sauce smells really bad and couldn’t be less close to a fresh meat dish as you may expect to eat in Tuscany. The fruit salad served for dinner is the remainder of the breakfast and the dessert is old watermelon with addition of lime and mint not to taste so old… Same issues with the pool bar and the beach restaurant. More than 100 euros to eat an old mozzarella, an inedible hamburger (nothing like the real local meat) and an awful dish of pasta. The price is that of a 5 star hotel, but it’s a scandalous quality/price ratio! We paid 8000 euro for ten days with two little kids and will never come back again.

The queues in the restaurant for breakfast were terrible, the milk was off, and they couldn't cook an egg. The concierge was non-existent, and we had to rely on friends to show us where the pool was and tell us that the use of the spa was included in the price we paid.

This is without a doubt the worst 5 star hotel I have ever stayed at, and I have stated at plenty. Their prices are 5 star but their service is very much 3 star. There is an obvious shortage of trained staff, breakfast is a fiasco. The buffet is shielded by Perspex screens with one sometimes two staff trying to satisfy the crowd of people trying to get served. Don’t go in early or you get the excuses the breakfast rolls have not arrived yet. Don’t waste your time asking for a hot coffee as the norm is Luke warm if you are lucky. The fiasco goes on. I asked for a club sandwich for my wife without bacon ask she has an allergy, the response was you can’t have that as the sandwich is already made. Not fresh but waiting around for someone to have the misfortune to order it. All for a cost of €26 euros. Now don’t get me wrong I expect the price in a 5 star hotel but this hotel fall way below this standard. In summary I would never visit this hotel again.

2 toast, un bicchiere di vermentino e una acqua tonica (di pregio ) al beach bar 55 EURO. No comment . Di passaggio per conoscere la struttura ed eventualmente ritornarci naturalmebte non ci vedranno mai più e dire che venivamo da un hotel 5 stelle dell'Elba !
