We have just spent 2 nights at this beautiful lodge as part of our Kenya Safari Tour with TUI. On arrival at Keekorok we were met by stunning Masai men who collected our luggage. The whole atmosphere is that of joy, happiness and kindness. Each and every member of staff had a smile and a “jambo”. Judy greeted us to the restaurant and taught us Kenyan pleasantries which was lovely. Mealtimes were fabulous with a good range of dishes, in a lovely set out restaurant. The omelettes at breakfast were wonderful as was the lady cooking them. We stayed in Lodge 1248 which had a comfy king sized bed as well as a single, and a fabulous balcony where you could sit at night and hear the hippos in there own pool, which has a viewing platform with a little bar, which was such a nice addition. Between the hours of 7pm and 6am you have to be escorted to and from your lodge, this is due to the magnificent hippos that wander into the lodge gardens to graze when the sun goes down. Seeing a gigantic hippopotamus metres away from your lodge was possibly one of the most beautiful scenes for me and something I shall never forget. Whilst sitting on the balcony having coffee last night we watched an enormous guy amble past us, not a care in the world, just amazing. The only disappointment for me is that we didn’t have longer. A beautifully managed lodge, with friendly happy staff, great food, comfy accommodation and awesome hippos! We said this trip would be a once in a lifetime, but now we are not convinced! Thank you Keekarok for an unforgettable stay
