Red Roof Inn Ellenton - Bradenton NE

We came from Montana for my Granddaughters Graduation our stay of 5 days was great. The rooms are a little dated but very clean we were on the bottom floor across from the pool. The room was very quiet no noise from surrounding rooms. Ample parking, close to restaurants, gas station, Hwy 301 with easy access to shopping. The rate was great it made our trip super affordable. We enjoyed our view of lake Lovelee, the hotel offered coupons for the nearby restaurants which were very welcome. The manager was a little short with my daughter and i heard that she or someone close might have been feeding the alligator that lived at the lake. I know they were short staffed, and it might have been a bit to being overworked. Not sure about the alligator but i did get a nice video when it saw me it swam right for me. There is a fence that separates from the lake so i felt pretty safe. Don't feed the alligators and i think this would be a great place to stay.

The new hotel, the facilities, supplies and everything are very new. The breakfast is pure western style. The airport pick-up service feels average. When it arrives, it is said that there will be no pick-up service after 7 o'clock. The drop-off said that there is no early shift. It is estimated that it is only available during normal working hours. It is too early or too late to be prepared to take a taxi back and forth. There are McDonald's and pizza nearby. It's okay to deal with it. It's okay if you don't pay much attention to food, or take a taxi to go to a far place.

The resort was conveniently located on the beach and the decor was nice. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. The bar tenders and most of the staff was very friendly. There was one front desk girl with painted on eyebrows that was not so much. The electrical and equipment/fixtures were another story. The first night was like we were staying in a low budget hotel, and nothing really changed. We arrived late for check in. There was no hot water in any of the facets in our suite and no water pressure in the bathroom sink facet. The lighting fixtures above the nightstands in the bedroom would turn off and on at random times a couple times an hour. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was broken and had a mind of its own. It would speed up and slow down on its own. When it sped up too much the thing would rattle and shake and make noise during the night. The fan would also stop all the way on its own and reverse directions. Then the AC/Cooling system on the roof would turn on and vibrate and hum in our room off and on all night. Not peaceful at all! It was like we were staying in a haunted low budget hotel. When I woke up in the morning (if I slept), my phone was dead even though I had it plugged into the convenient phone charger on the nightstand. I brought these issues up to the front desk the next morning and they sent maintenance staff up to our room. The breaker was tripped on the hot water tank, so that was resolved, and we had no more problems with water temp. The phone charger on the nightstand was not plugged in behind the nightstand and this was fixed. We were told: All of the bathroom sinks had the same facet and no water pressure. There was nothing he could do about it. The lights above the nightstand had some sort of sensor that he could not adjust. After he left, I tried waving my hand around to activate this sensor and the lights never responded to my action but would still turn off and on at random times a couple times an hour. He also said he did not have an answer for the fan or had no control over the noise level of the AC/Cooling system on the roof. We stayed there 4 nights with blinking lights and a haunted fan in the bedroom and had to put up with the noisy AC/Cooling system. Worst (4) nights of sleep in my life. I also received a $75.00 parking citation for parking the golf cart the wrong direction in the parking lot, which was a dead end. I was told I could park there by the front desk, but never told I had to be facing a certain direction. Love the Florida beaches, but will stay elsewhere next time.

While this is an older hotel, (paint on paint) we found the location was great, on the water walk, great pool and hot tube. Staff could not be any more pleasant and accommodating. We used the suite with two adults and 3 children. Sofa bed not bad (its a sofa bed). two queen were comfortable. We loved it.

Everything was ok for the price. It was clean but very run down. There was a homeless guy screaming in the parking lot one morning at 8 am and what seemed to be gangs of young men hanging out in the parking lot. Lots of college kids on spring break so a bit noisy at night. Also, we didn't dare venture to the pool, especially in the evening. It just didn't feel safe. Large dumpster in the parking lot in full view loaded with all kinds of garbage. But it was good for what we wanted and we didn't spend much time there besides to sleep at night. Maid service was consistently good.

This was our second visit to this area to visit family and this hotel has a lot going for it -- central location near restaurants, the interstate, shops, friendly staff and atmosphere, exceptionally clean and modern guest rooms and public areas. Once again, we felt welcomed by the reception desk and rest of the staff each day as we had during our first visit last year. However, some suggested areas of improvement: 1. If snacks are from 5 - 7 p.m., have them out on time. Only happened once in a week. 2. Remind us at check-in we could have received more bottled water as Hilton Honors members, and 3.Last, but not least! Eliminate the little slips of paper that were strewn all over the hallway each day (a week for us) from the new General Manager. We felt they were a waste. If they are left on doors, they don't stay there and litter the hallway. (What if you are handicapped and cannot bend to pick it up?) Not a good image/perception, at least for us. This did not happen last time we stayed and we felt just as welcome without the litter in the hallway when you opened your door each morning. Only good as scrap paper since pens and notepads are no longer provided in rooms (perhaps because of the pandemic?). Consider alternatives, e.g., a Welcome placard/tent card on the desk in each room with the same message from the GM with her contact info should suffice, and/or have a board (electronic or otherwise) by the elevators or by the breakfast room where you can post the daily forecast and who is serving breakfast, and a daily message from the GM. We've seen this done at other hotels, conference centers, and cruise ships. You are modern in every way ... come into the 21st Century with that gesture too.
