3pm tues. jan. check in our room was ready but on entry the balcony executive room faced a wall and was dark, since it was 4 night stay we decided to ask to switch, front desk graciously offered an executive suite for no extra charge but wouldn’t be ready for 2 hours, bellmen held luggage we had snack in executive lounge, dropped off laundry at Lila’s down the street and then went shopping. Returned after 6pm (with clean laundry) front desk gave us keys to room 248 and we were on our way. Suite meticulously clean and everything in place. We had view of Marble Arch, bathroom with tub plus shower stall and two towel warmers. Housekeeping first rate we requested and received 8pm turndown. Executive lounge staff wonderful, plenty of newspapers and nice being able to order eggs in addition to buffet breakfast. Evening buffet could easily substitute for dinner as offerings are excellent. Plenty of restaurants nearby, if your plan is to go shopping stay here as it’s so close to Oxford Street, very easy to drop bags off and go out again plus buses leave near the hotel entrance (buy oyster card) to take you everywhere else, so no need for cab. The hotel has the most professional staff we’ve encountered nothing is too small to request, everyone is cordial, and they want you to feel like you’re at home. I feel bad for Pavel we made him run around so much for us during out stay. We’ve stayed at 5 different luxury Marriott’s in London, this is the best Marriott property in London.
