AVOID AT ALL COSTS Booked a room for end of June back in January. Receved a text from a guy called Andrew today, (over 2 moths since booking), saying that the room was now unavailable due to an issue! After calling the hotel, Andrew stated that the bathroom was being re-fitted and wouldn't be ready in time which was obviously a very poor excuse for being double booked. I was also told that the fact we had booked train tickets along with tickets for a local steam rally was not his problem, and that he can cancel bookings any time he likes! What an unprofessional and totally shody outfit! AVOID

We picked up a flat tyre on our way to Bunbury Locks and managed to get as far as the Red Lion. The landlady and landlord were wonderful. They didn't mind us leaving the car while we went on our trip and were so kind. We had my very elderly parents and an equally elderly dog and they couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. We also needed some first aid and they helped us with that too. They were absolutely lovely and what could have been a terrible day became a truly memorable one. Thank you so much.

A lovely Welcome, warm & comfortable bar area, delicous food. Our bedroom (2) was large & clean with very comfortable beds & excellent quality bedding. Our night away concluded with a delicious & inexpensive breakfast. We will be looking forward to returning.

Had a fantastic Christmas get together excellent service so so friendly and the meals were to die for very good portions the veg amazing Some of us had starters all had mains some had desserts Fabulous amazing well worth a visit can’t say a bad word about anything We have been before for meals and they have been just as delicious amazing always feel welcome and the staff are great

Another great visit, Andy and Catherine and all the staff are spot on, rooms are spotless and food and drink is excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the pub to anyone. We are booked in again for next year and we are looking forward to seeing you all then.

2nd time we’ve stayed here & already booked for next year. Made to feel very welcome by owners Andrew,Catherine & all the staff, nice clean rooms, thick fluffy towels, good choice of food & drinks & nice pub atmosphere. Excellent value for money which included fully cooked breakfast to order.

Very welcoming. Spacious and very clean room. Cold water and fresh milk in fridge on landing. Pub had a good atmosphere. My only whinge is I think breakfast should be included not an extra. Would definitely stay here again.

Another fabulous day out at the Red Lion Inn for our ladies Bowling Main.This was the second time we had visited. The hosts are amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and service was brilliant. We had lunch and dinner there and the food was so good, 16 of us served at the same time all different meals was a credit to the chef. Well done, we enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended.

The way we were treated and intimidated due to late check in. Wrote to Frederic Robinson in detail who are the owners of the property according to their website, they advised the pub is run by an independent and advised they are not responsible for the owners actions, but would "pass on" my letter to the person who the complaint was about. We booked two rooms at the above property for the nights of 13th and 14th July 2023 together with Dinner for 6 people on the evening of 14th July 2023. My family and I have stayed at the Red Lion on many past occasions and enjoyed the welcoming stay with the previous owner Alan however, on this occasion we need to register our complete disgust regarding the way we were treated whilst travelling to the property on the evening of 13th July 2023. Whilst driving, I received a text at 21:19 from a mobile number 07974 015XXX which requested our arrival time as check in closes at 21:00. The person who sent the text was signed off as Andrew. As I was driving (we had been on the road since 16:20 from Kent), I asked my son to call the number and explain why we were not expected to arrive until 22.45 according to our sat nav. The outburst of verbal abuse from Andrew that we received was extraordinary, telling us that it is in your terms and conditions that we arrive before 9pm, that we need to get there soon and that we were inconsiderate in arriving at that time. We tried to explain further about the traffic conditions and closed motorways, but Andrew just hung up. My son was quite speechless at the aggressive verbal abuse, so we called my wife who was at home to ask her to contact Andrew, as she had spoken to him only days before, advising we would not be there until 22:00 hours and he said the pub closed at 23:00 so should not be a problem. She also said he was a very nice and helpful man. My wife called the main telephone number 01829 760275 and this was answered by a woman. My wife explained we had been delayed and immediately before she could explain further, was told by the woman abruptly that the kitchen closed at 21:00. This is irrelevant as we did not book or require food and had never suggested otherwise. My wife attempted to calmly explain that she had spoken to Andrew a few days before and was told “that’s a lie you didn’t call yesterday”. My wife again repeated it was a few days prior not yesterday and was told abruptly “I will pass you to Andrew”. Again, my wife now received Andrews unacceptable verbal tirade and he told her to tell us not to arrive as we are far too late to be accommodated. She explained that we were racing at Oulton Park and needed to be accommodated and again, Andrew just hung up on her. Again, my wife redialled and calmly explained that we would be arriving at 22:45 and also sent an email at 21:44 to redlionlittlebud@outlook.com to further confirm our arrival time as she was concerned that we would be left without accommodation.
