AI Summary
An AI-summarised snapshot of real guest reviews
The hotel is centrally located for ski enthusiasts, with a praised breakfast buffet and exceptional service; however, guests consider the pricing to be high without commensurate value, especially for meals and drinks.

I wanted to share some feedback from my recent stay. While the location for skiing was fantastic and one dinner was excellent, I was disappointed with the overall experience compared to previous years. The breakfast quality was not up to par, and I found some staff to be uninformed and occasionally rude. In the future, I may explore other hotels further from the slopes that offer better service and food quality. It's regrettable to say that Au Coeur du Village seems to have lost some of its charm

We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel in the middle of March 2024. As it has not been a great ski season snow wise i think that was part of the reason the hotel was probably about half full at the most. It is in a great location and the staff on the desk dealt with the check in quickly. We ate in the hotel on the first night in the Coeur restaurant, it is the same area as breakfast and does lack a little atmosphere for an evening meal as less than half full. The food however was excellent as was the service ( the only criticism would be the wine list was quite overpriced for the wines offered). Breakfast was ok and had decent variety, however i do feel for a 5 star hotel they should be offering eggs, omelettes and cooked items as part of the breakfast as opposed to an additional charge. Having stayed in 4 other ski hotels in the past 2 seasons ( none of which were 5 star), this was always included. The Room although small was very nicely appointed and only let down by the shower which was somewhat underpowered. The SPA area is very nice with a lovely pool, although the jacuzzi is within the pool area so not a warm jacuzzi. The Sauna was lovely but the gym is limited with just two running machines. The only disappointing decision by the front desk was not to extend our room checkout by more than an hour on departure. The hotel was clearly not remotely full at all but they stated it was going to be used that evening. I honestly believe any new guest could have been put into a different room as an extra hour would have made a big difference in terms of extending our ski morning. Overall we were impressed and do like La Clusaz ( although they really do need to upgrade the ski infrastructure which is very outdated now). There are some excellent restaurants in the lovely town.

We been staying in this facility for many times now, quality is constant, you feel well and you are ideally located to ski and have a break in the village. Staff is okay (unfortunately just 2 or 3 are the same from year to year). F&B is great, with a special award to the breakfast.

Great hotel - 2nd visit in 2 years still as good. Great for skiers and non skiers alike. great food and staff - very comfortable - fabulous pool and sauna. just across the road from the slopes. great shops if you are not into skiing. Has its own boot room next to the hotel for ski hire and storage.

I thought the hotel was very nice on the whole. The rooms and spacious and clean, the breakfast is of good quality. The massages and treatments in the Cinq Mondes area are fantastic. Overall i would recommend strongly. I have a couple of remarks on the spa which is a bit noisy when i gets busy, the jaccuzi in part of the pool and therefore not very relaxing because it is cold. The staff is well meaning but young and inexperienced in the world of luxury. The concierge is not very helpfull. I would say the hotel is a strong 4 star, not a 5 star.

Great staff and an amazing breakfast. The men working in the ski room made for good conversation and I really enjoyed the views from the balcony of the action at the bottom of the slopes. Thank you for the great stay in La Clusaz!

Amazing location right by the main ski lifts to all areas of the resort. Close ( 2 minutes walk) to the village centre and all the bars and restaurants. Staff are lovely and housekeeping are so good.. breakfast is something really special with great food for all tastes.

Not ss good as it should be. Staff not able to communicate in English with guests. And some of the French guests were very unpleasant toward some of the other guests children. A culture clash maybe - it seems in some parts of France, it's ok to discipline other people's children! Very out of order. Same with the nearby slopes where the lift helpers less help at the kids more push them and rush them on to the lifts angrily. Bizarre it's like at present a lot of people here have built up tension like I've never seen before and I've been coming to France for thirty plus years. Think I will go back to happy Austria to ski in future. Shame

Great location for this lovely hotel, right in the centre of the village and opposite the ski slopes so super convenient for everything. Comfortable accommodation and excellent service. Breakfast was outstanding with everything you could possibly imagine (and more)! It was a bit noisy at night with noise/ lorries from the street. We felt that the bar was very expensive so we tended to go out locally (where drinks were half the price) rather than have a drink there, and did not eat in the restaurant for the same reason. Slightly odd that you had to go outside to get to the ski locker room so needed footwear to do this but not a big deal. The staff were very friendly and helpful in the ski room.
