Akti Palace Hotel

Lovely hotel rooms were spacious, shared pool room (1611). The bathroom shower rather odd but done what it had to do. Mini bar was stocked every morning, 9am & rooms cleaned before 12. The pool area was great. I never had any issues getting a sun bed with parasoles & didn't ever witness sun bed wars. Also, could you pick up a pool towel from the guy at the hut between the pool & the beach. The beach itself was lovely a bit rocky getting into the water but always managed with the sand bags in place & the water was crystal clear & could see all the fish beneath you. Never had any issues with beds on the beach either. Also lots of water sports are available at a charge. The food was plentiful & I never felt it was repetitive, always something for everyone. Vegetarian section fish section meats chips pizza pastas. I really enjoyed their moussaka, pizza & freshly made ommlate fried eggs pancakes for breakfast & never a big queue either. The staff in the restaurant were always at hand to pour your fresh water tea coffee & juice wine beer in the evening, always clearing tables the are all so friendly & work very hard We also booked the Asian night that was lovely & only about 15 of us in the restaurant. The entertainment in the evening wasn't my cup of tea. I saw a dance show & most nights it was singers but didn't stop me sitting & enjoying a few drinks while it was on the bar was always full when entertainment was on but always a seat & table available. Would I return? YES

After only booking this hotel a few weeks ago we had a good holiday. Plus points we had a shared pool and mostly had it to ourselves, which was very much needed as unfortunately there was sunbed wars and sunbeds all gone by 9.30. We would spend the morning at the beach and go to our pool for the afternoon. Selfish people leaving sunbeds on the beach unoccupied for hours and hours! The staff are very friendly and work so hard. Vasilou, George, Georgia, Matheous and the very tall guy didn't get his name in the restaurants. Also Melina at the pool bar as unfortunately in the evenings she was the only waitress and one guy serving the drinks. So people queue at the bar so service is slow. Did get Gordons Gin when asked for it. Our room was lovely and modern and our cleaner kept it clean. The only annoying thing is the shower is terrible as it's over the bath and the shower screen doesn't cover enough of the bath so soaks the floor! The food is lovely and fresh and the Greek night was good. We did eat one evening in the hotel next door but too chaotic and very busy we liked our quiet restaurant. We used the free pedalo for 20mins and my son and husband hired paddleboards at the watersports centre on the beach which they loved. S

Me and my family stayed for 10 nights in July. Tax was €40 for that duration. I emailed the hotel before arriving requesting a quiet room and one on the upper floor and that's exactly what we had, lovely view across to the sea in the distance. We had a lovely stay, close to the beach, free sunbeds, free towels, and when the sea is calm, you also have free access to the kayaks and peddle boats, all other water sports are reasonably priced. The food was good, lots of different choice, and of course Akti Palace guests can also use Atki Beach facilities, where there is even more choice of food, although it's much more chaotic compared to Akti Palace! Akti Beach has pool tables, and a small games room with table tennis, pool table, air hockey, and a few other things. Our room was cleaned everyday, the lady who cleaned our room was lovely, always smiling and really hard working. It was a pleasure to meet all the staff in the hotel, the receptionists, our cleaner, the staff in the restaurant, the bar staff at the main bar, the day staff at the pool bar, all so hardworking and always smiling. Thank you all for making our holiday so enjoyable. A few people have commented that this is not a 5* hotel, but truthfully we were happy with everything that was included in the price, on top of what I mentioned already, there's also a free shuttle bus to Kardemena throughout the day and evening, access to all the facilities in 2 hotels, free mini bar topped up everyday, free courtesy room for an hour on departure day, all the themed restaurants you can book. We really enjoyed our holiday and hope to return again in the future.

The Akti spa was amazing. The staff are friendly and courteous. The full body massage was a real treat on my holiday. The therapy rooms are beautiful with lots of treatment options. Big thank you to SEVI for a wonderful warm experience.. you were polite and patient with me and the massage was exactly what I needed.

Hotel was very nice, modern, same as the room, perfectly clean, everyday we felt as we just arrived. Also very clean were all facilities of the hotel, main restaurant, bar, pool bar, beach. Garden was beautifully cared for. Food was an excellent, many variations to choose from every day from the breakfast to the dinner. I want personally to thank to the waitress Alla, bartender Fabio , waitress Marsida. I want to pick every employee up for their professional attitude towards us in any case we needed or asked for something extra. We had the only and the worst problem - on the beach and near the pool. We had every day problem to get the sunbeds. I would like to appel to the hotel manager or director to solve this issue quickly because we were not the only couple who had this problem.

Booked a last minute holiday for myself and partner to get away for a week: reasonable deal with the all inclusive. Hotel was lovely. When we arrived, we were supposed to have a sea view; I wouldn’t class it as a sea view as you could only see it slightly from side so maybe needs advertising as mountain/side sea view to avoid dissapointment. Bed extremely comfy and very good air conditioning. Maids were thorough and room was spacious. Pool area was okay, although we tended to stay on beach as was quieter and more relaxing. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Drinks were great but food very basic. We only used the hotel for drinks as we like to venture out in evenings for proper Greek cuisine. Asian restaurant was ok. Minibar was restocked every time we used anything. Special thanks to the lovely waitress named Alexia who was always so friendly and attentive in the evenings and you could tell she loved her job. Overall a lovely hotel but probably wouldn’t stay again due to food not being great and very repetitive.

We have just returned from our holiday at Akti Palace, and despite being on a 12 night stay, we didn’t want to leave! We had a super friendly welcome at reception, and we were told our room had been upgraded - a truly unexpected surprise. Thank you Akti Palace for arranging this. We met Alexia at the bar for our first cocktail, and she went above and beyond by learning our names, and Alexia continued to provide outstanding customer service for the duration of our holiday. The main buffet restaurant was small compared to larger resorts I have stayed in, but the food quality was good, and other than a few key staples which made an appearance everyday, I felt they had a good variety of food and we didn’t get at all bored. We spaced out our meals at the Fish, Greek and Asian restaurant, and really enjoyed all of these too. The Fish and Greek restaurant had a more classic longer eating experience as expected with tasting menus, whereas the Asian was a much shorter meal. Mateo served us at both the Fish and Greek, as well as at the snack bar by the pool (which has the most amazing gyros!) and was outstanding at looking after us during our stay. We made use of the bar and restaurant facilities at Akti Beach hotel too. Their buffet restaurant is extremely busy, even out of season, but they do have a larger selection, including a really nice Asian counter which included sushi. We are big cocktail drinkers, and found the pre-made cocktails nice. A couple of the cocktails are made to order, so we opted for those when we fancied something stronger! Christos and Alexandros were exceptional behind the bar, and made the effort to get to know us. The sea was lovely, but please be aware of very slippery rocks when getting in. Water shoes would be sensible, although the sandbags laid down by the hotel help a lot. We snorkelled, and used the free pedalos and kayaks. We were at Akti Palace out of season, so there was ample sun beds to spare. My only criticism with this hotel was the pool temperature - it was freezing! There was a full animation schedule at Akti Beach which Akti Palace guests could access, as well as evening entertainment in their theatre. Akti Palace had music entertainment in the bar each night, but no other activities during the day. Location wise, there is a good supermarket just next to Akti Beach, but not anything else near the hotel. We used the free shuttle bus to Kardamena a lot. It was always very punctual, and picks up from Akti Palace before Akti Beach so we always had a seat. We booked a sunset trip to Zia (€15pp), which was lovely. I would advise you plan to have dinner whilst there, as there are lovely Greek tavernas. We also booked a 3 Bay Cruise with Harriets in Kardamena, it was €25pp including a BBQ lunch. This was a highlight of our holiday, and would really recommend to those who like swimming/snorkelling. Brilliant week in a beautiful location, ok so this isn’t a 5 star but neither are the prices. If you are looking for a clean, friendly, intimate place to relax with your loved ones this hotel is perfect. The food is basic, the theme restaurants were a little strange but the food is fresh, tasty and there is plenty of choice. We are used to 5 star Turkey hotels, but then we pay 3x as much, and this time we just wanted a week away, doing nothing, just chilling and enjoying each others company, instead of a plethora of restaurants and flashy cocktails. A chill week is exactly what we got - low key entertainment, an amazing beach (we love snorkelling), a relaxed pool with no loud music and tasty, fresh Greek food. The staff were extremely kind and attentive. A special thanks to Alexa and Nicholas at the bar, who looked after us every night (Disaronno and coke was our family drink - yes the cocktails are pre-made and a bit meh but just drink something else!). We went out of season and at some points we felt that we had the hotel to ourselves, no fighting for a sunbed in the morning, it reminded me of a private villa resort. Would I come in high season? - probably not, I can imagine it wouldn’t be as relaxing or chill, but for some out of season sun it was perfect. We were very lucky with the weather too 28degrees most days. There is always room for improvement - the wine served in the buffet restaurant was vile! However other times such as when we were served a bottle in the themed restaurants it was very palatable, not sure if they used different brands in different bars. The orange juice at breakfast was also not great, really concentrated and sweet, perhaps that could be improved. But overall beautiful surroundings and rooms (even though in places the hotel was looking tired, after 6months of heavy wear and tear that’s to be expected) and we were all really sad to leave - 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a 12 year old, this hotel catered for us all. We also fell a little bit in love with Kos and want to explore further, so I’m sure we’ll be back. Huge thank you to all the staff, who have worked tirelessly all season and now really deserve their winter break and respite. Yamas!!

I stayed here with my partner a month ago, mid Sep. We saw the reviews and were certain that the good outweighed the bad. We were generally disappointed with our stay for a number of reasons; rude staff, poor room, poor food and lack of activities. We were bored. We booked this hotel due to the archery and activities programme, we quickly realised this was targeted at children, not adults. There's a free bus to Kardamena, which is a lovely town. You can use the facilities nextdoor at akti beach club, which we'd strongly recommend. They have three times the choice of food. We did have upset stomachs for a couple of days and had pink turkey one day - but in general, we found things to eat. We struggled at Akti palace alone. Drinks were basic and cocktails pre made. We missed out on evening entertainment at times as there was not enough seating where it was held at the bar. Beach was nice, although again, the good sunbeds go quickly. Sea had a few fish in, shop down the road from the beach sells snorkels. Lady at the watersports station was exceptionally rude and put us off of paying for items. We complained to hotel management in the end and got a fruit basket and prosecco. Room was poorly finished, a few hazards and ants. We were bored. This is very much a sunbathing holiday as opposed to an on the go one for sure. Asian restaurant is amazing, greek is underwhelming. We didn't visit the fish one but were told not to bother. Lady at the spa was quite rude and it was very basic. Had to walk back to our room to get towels to use the facilities which seemed odd. I predominantly holiday at 5 star resorts and I would say it was just rather underwhelming. We had a few issues with Tui too when coming home which added to the fun. We booked a shower room on our last day which endee up being triple booked. Is a shame as we were so excited for this holiday, felt very lack lustre. No atmosphere at all! We definitely wouldn't return.
