In total we lived here for 2 weeks I liked everything very much, except: - there is cold water in the shower in the evening, on the last day it was just ice cold - poor internet. If you check the connection speed it tends to zero - insects. Ants as a given. When it rains a huge number of moths crawl through the bottom of the balcony into the room - the sound of the refrigerator is disturbing Overall excellent service, always clean room with fresh towels, beautiful view from the room, comfortable bed and good air conditioning. I think I'll be back again

Extended our stay, very convienient. Easy to extend. Peaceful area but not far from resturants etc.

It’s a very remote area which for a solo traveller was a little daunting at night without getting taxis. There is a lovely beach 10 minute walking distance but most dive centres are a 25 minute walk away so suggest staying nearer to the pier. The villa was fairly dirty including the sheets and towels provided. The receptionist didn’t seem to be around a lot and was always 10 minutes away when you called her. They advertise transfers to the pier at certain times but they didn’t run unless you pressed them too. Resulted in having to get taxis a few times which was costly. Focused on the negatives because all in all the island is spectacular however perhaps you can find better for the same price?

Big room 🤗

The location is quite far from the city (30 minutes walk) and you don't get anything in return, because the view is sad. The facilities are also quite poor, there is no telephone in the rooms so you have to use your own mobile to check the reception, which also consists of 1 woman who is not there quite often (the reception is closed after 7 o'clock or so) . The hotel also has no restaurant or pin / exchange options, so when I was completely shocked by the 1000 bath that I had to pay as a deposit (previously it was 0 and 500 at a 5 star hotel) I was allowed to climb for 30 minutes to the city. to withdraw money.

As for the aesthetics of the accommodation, it is beautiful, the views from the room are the best and the surroundings in nature, the pool for us alone and with the sound of the animals in the background. However, the service left a lot to be desired, they offered a free taxi pick-up from the pier upon your arrival but they didn't send you a message or bother to let you know. When we arrived, we paid for a taxi and explained what happened and instead of offering us a free ride, they told us it wasn't their problem. On the other hand, there is never anyone at the reception, it seems that no one works there and every time you need something you have to wait and be lucky that a worker appears and notifies the receptionist. If you are afraid of bugs, it is better not to come, because there are quite a few of them (lizards, lizards, spiders, etc.) and they also enter the room through the air conditioning. The road to go up is quite steep and unpaved full of rocks, if you go with a motorcycle it is dangerous, especially in the rainy season. Finally, the surroundings of the accommodation can be dangerous since falling coconuts and huge palm tree branches can hurt you a lot if they hit you. I know from experience... they saw a spiked branch fall on me and they didn't even flinch.

A different world

There was no hot / warm shower or tap water, so I had to shower cold, there is no phone available in the rooms to call to the reception and the reception itself has very limited opening times and closes very early, the location is quite far from the city and the view is still quite poor. The hotel also doesn't have any restaurant and asks 1000 baht for deposit, which is quite insane compared to other (5 star) hotels where we have been paying in between 0 and 500 baht.

Spent all 5 days on Koh Tao here, and we were pleased with our decision. A lovely base for navigating a beautiful island, very clean rooms, bathrooms and a lovely pool area. Very friendly owners, chatting to us all about travels, made us feel extremely welcome and that didn't go a miss. Up the road for some beautiful beaches, the attentive staff at reception are there for all things needed, and provide maps of the island as well as bike rental! Picked us up from the port with no problems! Will hopefully stop by again on my return... Thanks Woodlawn Team!

The Villa was super clean and comfortable. It felt like home. The bed and pillows were sooooo cosy. The stuff very nice. The pool area was also very relaxing. The owner was very helpful! Grateful giving me some extra time with the checkout Highly recommended 👌

My only complaint was that there was no bar by the pool, but its ok, can’t have everything

Waking up to the singing of the birds, palm trees and lush forest. Very clean rooms. 5 stars for all. Area is tucked away from tourist hotspots, lots of local life to witness. Nearby beach is fantastic.

I had an excellent stay at Woodlawn Lawn Villas, it was just as advertised and more. Friendly and helpful staff. The resort is in a good location within a short walk to local shops and beach, or scooter ride to the pier and alternative beaches. Koh Tao is only a small island so anywhere is only a short scooter ride away. Wood Lawn Villas rent scooter for 200 bhat which is very reasonable. I would highly recommend 😎
