There are relatively few hotels in the town, so this is a good choice.

So-so hotel. The entrance looked like we were driving into Jurassic Park. The elevator was broken. The outside area was covered with ice and snow and my wife slipped and hurt her elbow pretty badly. At least it was mostly quiet, except for the people walking past our ground level window.

Beautiful family-owned property just minutes on the outskirts of the village Kirkjubaejarklauster. Lovely rooftop setup with a glass room for the windy nights, to view the auroras from. The bar and restaurant on site are a little pricey but are delicious. The majority of the staff was accommodating but not overly friendly or inviting. Lovely place to visit if you like your alone time though!

Property was clean and safe. In a beautiful area on our road trip. Staff were kind and helpful.

Hotel Laki might not be the newest hotel in the area, but they make up for it in character, kindness, and comfort! Our room was clean and cozily appointed - it felt like home! The restaurant was wonderful and the staff were warm and welcoming. I highly recommend adding Hotel Laki to your itinerary!

Great stay. Wonderful breakfast. Would stay here again. About one hour drive to diamond beach.

I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet and the cleanliness of the hotel.

Have a roof top to see aurora

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Laki and were sad that we could only stay for one night. The rooms were very comfortable, and the food/bar was amazing! I highly recommend it for your Iceland journey!

This property is listed as 3.5 stars, but the 'economy' units deserve no more than 2 stars. The sheets had multiple holes in them - I stopped counting at 7. It's a very basic room. The staff were absent from the front desk at prime checkout time, or I would have relayed this message directly.

There is an obvious divide between an older section of the hotel and a newer section. We were in the older section. Things were dated, but not bad at all (think keyed lock vs electronic lock), no big deal. The room was decent size, had two twin beds and a small table & chair. Plenty of room to unpack. The room and bathroom were clean, with a step up to get into the shower. Both front desk staff, and the breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast had a decent number of choices, between deli meats & cheeses, breads, cereals, fresh fruits, juices and coffee. Plenty of room to sit in the eating area which was in the modern updated side of the building. Nice views of the surrounding landscape. Well maintained grounds. Electric car charging station was a surprise. Dinner was expensive so we did not indulge, though there aren't many other options nearby.

Really good breakfast! The rooms are nice and clean. The only drawback, is that the tv did not work.

This hotel was a standout during my 1 week tour of Iceland! I was pleasantly surprised by the room's size, comfort, and decor (We booked Standard Double or Twin Room). The dinner and breakfast buffets were great and the views were fabulous. The hotel was well marked & easy to find (which was helpful as we arrived after dark). Would have loved to stay in the area longer. The only downside was the room was hot- if I had stayed longer than 1 night I would have figured out how to adjust the temperature but to be honest I was too lazy to inquire. We even purchased a lovely handmade Icelandic sweater from the gift shop. Overall I highly recommend this hotel!
