On arrival the receptionist was very helpful, Room was clean , beds comfortable ,we found the room very warm and was unable to open the window room 311, not a very view from this room. Hotel was full so unable to get another room . We had evening meal in the restaurant .food was excellent,and our waiter was very helpful. We had breakfast the following morning, but found that the bacon and black pudding was overdone as was the fried egg. But we should of waited for the Fresh cooked food to come out of the kitchen. Idid mention this to the waitress. Breakfast was the only downside to our stay

The service is courteous and makes you feel at home! The hotel facilities are very clean and every staff member has a smile! It was a very unforgettable accommodation experience. I will choose this hotel again next time.

Ideal location and beautiful bedroom with everything you need.
Nice terrace overlooking the piee.
Parking is very limited.

Everything from the moment we walked through the door at the start of our stay to leaving at the end was absolutely perfect! Nothing was too much for the very attentive staff who were all cheerful and friendly. We had a rooftop room which had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and had the best view from the balcony. A massive thank you to each and everyone of the staff who made our stay extra special and we will definitely be back again!!

Very good service room-cleaning wise, particularly on Saturday AM by the lady on duty that morning. Very helpful and friendly. Good service at breakfast all 3 days. For a 4star hotel of its size it’s a pity there’s only one small lift - which will only hold 4 people AND doubles as a service lift. (Unless there are more hidden away!!). However - it caused us no inconvenience, especially as we were on a leisurely break.

Location was perfect for us and unlike some long established "Grand" hotels, St Georges still feels a bit special. Room was comfortable if a tad smaller than we perhaps expected (room 400), and breakfast excellent. We were struck by how many staff were working and felt very welcome and well looked after. Highly recommended overall.
Only downsides :-) On checking in we felt a bit like we were second class folk as the receptionist made a point of saying "as you booked via ******* you can't charge things to your room as we don't have a card on file" would of been happy to give card details, but wasn't asked. Secondly, for us, part of the reason for booking St Georges was they have 9x EV charge points in their carpark. On getting in touch with the Hotel a week or so before arrival, I was told that due to demand these couldn't be reserved. Top tip, the station car park has about 40x 7kw chargers, £2.50 for 12hrs parking, and currently £0.34/kw to charge. ＜10min walk to the hotel. However, a great stay overall, would stay again.

Never stayed in a 4 star hotel before, could not have asked for a better stay, staff and service were excellent ,food was very good. If that’s what staying in a 4 star hotel is like, I shall be doing it more often. It was my wife’s 80th birthday treat , she was over the moon with the hotel and staff.

Historic hotel updated for a comfortable stay. Room was compact but comfortable. Breakfast offered a good choice of options but it would have been better to have full table service to avoid food waste.
