Fanastic trip. Luckily I won a trip 2bb1d, when we arrived reception was very friendly if a little unsure.( did not know what package allowed for- had to clarify later with another receptionist) the interconnecting rooms are fabulous and plush. The main room is very comfortable with plenty of space, the twin room next door is very roomy with a pull out sofa and kitchenette. There are two huge screens for telly watching and tea station in main room. Decor is plush dark green velvet. Only down side is distance and orientation to/from room. Breakfast was delicious and plenty. Pancakes/ French toast, self serve buffet, staff will bring you anything. Dinner was delicious, and there care good family deals if your not staying.beef was beautiful, kids meals were huge, and plenty of choice. Pool is well laid out, great steam room and sauna. It was a fantastic trip.well worth a visit, especially for families.

Excellent for visiting Killarney and surrounding area. 20 minute brisk walk into town. On main road which was noisy from the balcony rooms so bear in mind if you want more peace go around the back. A relaxed and friendly hotel.

Just returned from a 3 night stay in the Great Southern Hotel Killarney, arriving New Year’s Eve. We were returning guests from many years ago so we weren’t sure what to expect. My husband was celebrating a December birthday and we were delighted to be given a beautiful room 380. A bottle of bubbly and some treats along with a personalised card were waiting in our beautiful room, which had its own fabulous Christmas tree, and gorgeous views. New years was amazing with live music following a lovely meal. It was a pleasure to see the old out and the new in at this lovely venue. Breakfast is fabulous with something delicious for everyone’s taste. The highlight for me was the professionalism of all the staff. From the staff at breakfast, the staff at dinner, the barman, the waiting staff, the hard working staff looking after the rooms, the staff at the leisure centre and the friendly welcoming staff at the entrance, and reception. A great team all working together to make guests happy. Nothing was to much trouble and the hotel was full including 2 weddings but the staff were amazing and did a great job. Overall our stay at the Great Southern Hotel was a very enjoyable experience. Anna & Noel Egan.
