Hyatt Place Kathmandu

The mattress and pillows had very bad smell like they had not been replaced for a couple of years. The food in Zing cafe at the lobby was just so so. The plastic table covers generally full of food debris without frequent changing. During the 7-day stay, the service at front desk, restaurant and for our room however was overall up to the standard of a 5-star hotel.

An excellent hotel to unwind, relax, or choose as a transit point. My husband and I spent over one week here on a business trip, and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. The hotel rooms are spacious, the bed linen is clean and comfortable, yhe bed size is absolutely perfect,and the housekeeping staff is efficient and polite. Rina and Mamata attended to my every request, and freshened up my room with a smile! The bathroom is well equipped, designed and well lit. Fresh towels and essential toiletries like lotion, a dental kit, shampoo, bathing soap and shower gel are provided for. This helped us immensely as we were not able to reach a shop immediately after our arrival to the city. The restaurant provides great meals, with a wide ranging menu, from Indian, Thai, Chinese and Continental to choose from. The portion sizes are good too. We greatly enjoyed our daily breakfast as well, which comes with fresh cut fruits, juices, tea, coffee, etc on a cart. We were pleasantly surprised to see a wide range of cuisine which included Continental, Indian, South Indian, Chinese items to choose from. (We loved the paper thin dosa, chutneys, and sambar!) The staff in the restaurant are very hospitable and welcoming. The personal touch of asking guests what they needed, gave such a good feel! Needless to say, the kitchen staff is very well trained, and we enjoyed everything served to us! Don't miss going to the Zing Bar on level "P" to spend a beautiful, open to sky experience while enjoying a drink and great kababs, supervised by Mr. Devarya , who is in charge. We enjoyed watching a James Bond movie which was being specially screened that evening. Last buy not the least, is the quiet ambiance of the hotel in general, which allows one peace of mind! Thanks to Team Hyatt Place, Kathmandu, for making our stay memorable! We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends as well.

I visited as single female but ina tour group. My room was clean and nothing was missing from offered items. There was complementary water bottle. Excellent mattress and pillows. My best impression was formed when I mentioned to the waiter that the food was too spicy ( even the rice ). He immediately talked to the chef and they prepared pizza and fries. Their politeness is exceptional and really made me more relaxed. I regret not experiencing the pool but .. maybe next time. Around the hotel there are some shops but you need to walk Abt 7-10 min. Totally safe though.
