The characteristics of this hotel are comfortable rooms and all-inclusive catering that focuses on exquisite originality. However, there are not many limited options for each meal. The waiters are very enthusiastic. Special thanks to Kerui (maybe the spelling is wrong) at the front desk for helping us solve problems with other hotels. Thank you to the hotel for giving us a late check-out…

I don't write many reviews but this hotel really deserves it ! With the very entering of the resort they make you feel that you have come to the right place, to feel at home, to feel cared for and cared in exactly the best way. The atmosphere everywhere is cozy, everyone is smiling, they are ready to do anything to make their guests feel satisfied and happy and they do it from the heart and it shows! The pictures don't even show how beautiful the nature is there, the guys who maintain the garden are phenomenal, down to the smallest detail. For us, in terms of price and quality, they are unsurpassed! Everything was extremely tasty and beautiful, high quality drinks, cocktails and service.Special thanks to all the great team who made my birthday unforgettable, with all the surprises, you guys are great! and last but not least the outstanding Michelle! an amazing professional, an amazing person..without her, Tulia will not be the same !

Our experience at Tulia in Uganda was truly remarkable. Despite its small size, this charming resort felt like a paradise. The food, largely sourced from their organic farm, was exceptional. Our beach villa exuded romance and a dream-like ambiance. Yet, what truly left a lasting impression was the exceptional staff. Michaelle, in particular, exceeded all expectations to ensure our stay was unforgettable. She graciously led us on a tour of the resort, showcasing its every charm. Her warmth and guidance enhanced our experience immensely.

This is a lovely boutique hotel and well managed. The accommodation is beautiful, clean and well equipped, with green gardens with fantastic plant, plenty of space. We stayed at a beach front villa which was beautiful. We enjoyed the stunning sea views. The food is just incredible and consistently beautifully presented. The executive chef and team are to be congratulated on providing some of the best food I’ve tasted anywhere, with great choices, lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and they uses almost exclusively natural materials for food. On top of all that, I have to mention about Tulia, which is the staff. They are very kind, warm, always smiling and everyone working for you to have the best experience. But Michelle certainly deserves a special mention as well. She is in management staff and she made us really feeling important and extremely well and followed us all the time for giving us the best experience at the resort. I want say thanks to Michelle and owner for complementary special dinner for us în the garden!! Thank you to every one for helping to make our stay special!! Mandi & Alexandru from Romania

My favourite things were: The food. Hands down the best food I've ever had in my entire life. The staff. Everyone in the staff is extremely kind and nice. You can tell they love their job and each other. They really are the ones that create a relaxed and dreamy atmosphere and make the difference during your stay. Special mention to Michelle who followed us from the first day to the last moment, helped us plan our activities and satisfy all of our requests. The fact that they have an inside small farm where most of the herbs, veggies, fruit, eggs and some of the meat come from. Loved it! I wish we didn't do the turtle rescue centre cause it did not look like a rescue centre as many people can interact with them all together and it was very stressful for them and us as well. There is a huge variety of activities that are more worthy of your money. All in all an amazing experience in heaven 🙏🏽

Immersed in an extraordinary experience, Tulia emerges as the quintessential haven just an hour's drive away from the airport. Nestled with a mesmerizing view of the ocean, Tulia stands as the epitome of a luxurious retreat. Its grounds exude magnificence, the cuisine delights the senses, and the staff embody professionalism, kindness, and unwavering hospitality. Our stay at Tulia was a harmonious mix of relaxation and joy, a memory we will never forget.. The exceptional planning of a birthday dinner remains embedded in our hearts. The staff set us up in a private outdoor setting under lights, which included a three-course meal, cake, and a staff presentation. The attention to detail surpassed our wildest dreams, leaving us feeling deeply grateful for such a thoughtful gesture. While our stay was nearly flawless, we encountered a minor setback with the air conditioning in our room, which unfortunately did not operate at its optimum capacity. Despite the continuous efforts to rectify the issue, the a/c never got cold and we required a fan for the duration of our stay. Additionally, there was a slight hiccup in the realm of guest service when one staff member fell short in displaying empathy and accommodation. However, upon bringing our concerns to the attention of another desk representative and management, action was taken without hesitation. Tulia shines as a gem in Zanzibar. For a true home away from home experience, make sure Tulia is your sanctuary in Zanzibar.

We were a family of 4, with two teenage girls, and overall had a good, relaxing time over 8 days. We loved the beautiful gardens, the sea view, the quality evening shows, the coziness of the place (only 16 bungalows) and the exceptionally nice and helpful Tanzanian staff (we had a memorable New Year's Eve dancing with them!) - they care deeply to ensure everyone has a good time while remaining discreet. The location is great to visit the Island as we did one day out of two, organised through our agent in Geneva and the hotel (we recommend the day's private outing with Safari Blue out of Fumba, the Maalum cave to be combined with the Jozani forest rather than done over two trips). The main downside of the hotel is the food: the limited choice each day would be no issue if there was more variety from one day to the next and the food was not so bland, with big pieces of meat/fish each night, hardly any vegetables, no big salads, not a single local dish in our 8 evenings despite Zanzibar's cuisine being notoriously tasty, and nothing festive for New Year's eve (the same BBQ as 5 nights before: grilled squid and octopus, and grilled meat in copious amounts, a small potatoe each, no vegetables (!), and a piece of average cake). The wine list was also quite limited. Overall, definitely not worth the very high price charged for each dish (or for the all inclusive) nor the fuss made about the food at this hotel. It is obviously aimed at a particular clientele, but was a real disappointment to us and the reason why we would not give theTulia 5/5. We ate much better in Stone Town and in many the 5* hotels of many other countries. Travelers may want to note the following: the common area around the (small) pool and facing the sea is small, including the deck above the sea (when there is one but the changing tide is quite charming), although well-furnished; there is non-stop music (but they will turn if down or off if you ask); the hotel faces East and loses the sun around 5.30pm (but nice moon each night); it is quite windy all day long, but we found this OK given the heat and as a result had virtually no mosquitoes. The Royal bungalow, where we were, is big (save the bathroom, small) but lacks a bit of charm, facing the back of the propery, although it is good for a family of 4, has its own swimming pool, and is quiet as against the spa (no neighbours). Overall probably a better place for 3 to 5 days' rest after a safari than for an 8/9 day stay as we had. But again, we have rarely experienced such nice and helpful staff, they made our stay!

We returned to this little piece of paradise and we will return again! Tulia is truly unique and the relentless commitment to really make you feel at home is unbelievable. Literally every single corner, meal, drink, staff and management are top-notch! The warm welcome and ultimately, the level of service is what really makes an impression. The service we experienced here again was just above and beyond. There was literally no request that wasn’t met with a quick and friendly “of course”, “not a problem”, “hakuna matata”.
