Aditya the manager was really incredible. He handled a large wedding party with ease and grace. He went above and beyond to make sure all the guests were happy and comfortable. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Lux. Great location, good food, amazing ambiance! Thank you Aditya for making our Zanzibar experience so wonderful!

My friend and I had a lovey time at this resort. They have lots of activities planned and will help you with excisions, etc. The rooms are gorgeous and the spa in particular was great - highly recommend! While some menu items are maybe 4 stars, not 5, there are some gems on the menu as well - the lamb shanks are fantastic. I do wish the pool was open beyond 7pm.

(Honeymoon Review) Jeff & Morgan James A special thank you to the staff at @luxmarijani resort that ensured everyday was better than the last from dinner and movie nights on the beach, a private pool that came with our room, and so many people knowing our names and genuinely asking when we will return. The general manager was beyond excellent and accommodating and knew each guest by name which was impressive. To say this was the trip of a lifetime still won't do justice to how incredible it was for our first time in Africa (the motherland). Where to begin: I could list the animals we saw both in Zanzibar and the mainland Tanzania which included from monkeys, lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, etc. We swam with fish, picked up starfish at the bottom of clear oceans, got to feed mini turtles and saw a 200yr old tortoise. Seeing wild dolphins in their natural habitat was other worldly. The food, the music, & the culture all paled in comparison to the people throughout the island. There were sandbanks that let you walk hundreds of feet into shallow waters so over. The smiles, sun, fruit, and countless beaches will make you feel like this place isn't on earth. But none of this would have be possible without our local tour guide, friend, and brother @salum_di_zanzibar Salum made sure our entire trip was planned and ensured food, supplies, and transportation was accounted for so we never had to worry about a single thing the entire time. He was an amazing host, tour guide, provided amazing local concierge service. We highly recommend him for planning your Zanzibar-Tanzania experience from start to finish.

Newly taken over and operated by LUX Hotels, the Marijani is certainly a luxury accommodation spot. The staff, rooms, facilities and food are all amazing. Like most places in Zanzibar, pricing for extras is high and sometimes not worth it. Best is to book half or full board. There are two restaurants, one is separately branded as Samāa and worth a visit for at least one of your dinners. Tours are available, but if you want many tours, you should probably rather book a hotel more north. TIP: When dealing with hawkers on the beaches, negotiate like mad, use the trick of walking away, the locals offer prices that can easily be halved. TIP: Walk out far with a Masai at low tide.

Great experience, Anne was very amazing and helpful in particular. The whole staff was lovely. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. We went for the best room and it came with an amazing bathtub. Can I just repeat again that Anne was amazing? She should get a raise.

Staff were amazing overall! Special thanks to Saf, Dinesh, Marco. Beach was disgusting, littered with plastic rubbish and full of sea****. not sure why its not cleaned and raked daily like the neighbouring hotels. The buffet food quality was mediocre at best, not 5 star for sure! Salad display is basic and terrible, deserts were poor quality everyday, food was generally bland and watered down, Room Service took hours and brought the food uncovered and cold!, A la carte menu is very limited for dinner. Subsequently ordered A la carte/off the menu for dinners, which was very good. Spa is great! Rooms are well designed. Beach front rooms have a great view!

Great service from staff. Luxury family room met all our needs. The room was spacious, clean and was serviced twice daily. Mima, a therapist at LUX Me Spa is the best therapist I’ve had and I encourage you to treat yourself with one of their massages. LUX Dining had a lovely selection everyday. We celebrated a birthday with dinner on the beach and it was a beautiful setup. Chef Dinesh was very accommodating and friendly. There were daily activities for kids to keep them occupied. We’ll definitely visit the resort again. It really is an awesome family holiday destination.

Lux Marijani is a wonderful resort, located in Pwani Mchangani in Zanzibar. The rooms are spacious, with AC and well laid out. The staff were kind, professional and super hospitable! My thanks to all staff who made my trip to Zanzibar memorable. Special thanks to Anne Wambui - Front Office Manager and Sabato who went the extra mile. Asanteni sana :)
