Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa

Among the Italian travel agencies, this resort is really popular and I had highly expectations. Unfortunately since our arrival I have been disappointed. For a 5 stars hotel I would have expected a higher level of service and attention to details. The room was clean but the food needed improvement. The buffet offered a wide choice of Italian cuisine, too bad some dishes were cold and lacked description. The beach would also be beautiful and relaxing, if it weren't for the Masai and other vendors who immediately attack you as soon as you approach the water ... not to mention the acrobats who pass by at least twice a day with their loudspeakers blasting music. Luckily for them, there was GRACE (waitresses at Kilimanjaro Restaurant). She was so kind with us and her attitude was perfect. She had an unique presence and always welcomed us with her beautiful smile. But I was really impressed (and also expected this from everyone at the resort) by her positive energy and correct approach during the service. In conclusion, I do not recommend relying on the concierge of the resort as he sold us an activity but in the end it was anything else and paying even more than necessary. I am very disappointed as I expected much more from this resort for what I paid. I do not recommend it

We went to Gold to have lunch and it was wonderful! The location and the buildings are very beautiful, the staff are very nice and the food was tasty. I have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten and they were very accommodating with both gluten free pasta and bread. The restaurant manager told us there would be a singer later that night so we came back for dinner as well. Super cozy with the singer and we had a romantic table with our feet in the sand. The best food experience we had in Kendwa!

Gold Zanzibar is the best hotel you can choose. This hotel has all the facilities that you can dream of. Their kitchen is always crisp fresh, everything is prepared for you on the spot with the most care. Lunch and dinner are completely different, nothing passes a second time of food. The serving people are always very friendly, very motivated. Young Mister Amani really does his utmost and gives enormlessly respect to the people. Chapeau Amani. You go the extra sparkle! How many times have you run for coffee for us? Nothing is too much for you. The pool boys are always happy and helpful. The hotel is always and everywhere clean. The garden is perfectly maintained. The management is super sweet and caring, to their customers and also to their employers. You really find this often. The massage is also highly recommended. They really treat the pain points. We were received and treated like royalty in Gold Zanzibar, really not normal. We never return to the same hotel, with an exception for Gold Zanzibar. We have just been by them for the 2nd time. My admiration for this hotel and their people is mega high...and yes! We are returning...words are further unnecessary...this is a super deluxe hotel.

Perplexed about the resort's 5-star rating. Beyond the lack of care for the (dirty) beach, the staff is not very attentive starting from the beach guards (constantly with their heads lowered to the screen of their phone without noticing passers-by rummaging through the bags left under the umbrellas), continuing with the waiters are listless, slow and often forget orders (there are few really kind and helpful ones, I remember Grace, Peter, Aidan, Combino, Helly and in general those who take care of cleaning the rooms), I have rarely seen managers going around the resort or monitor staff activity. For the quality of the food: the Gold restaurant has a little varied menu and the quality of the food left me very perplexed, while the Kilimanjaro buffet restaurant has little variety. The cocktail menu is very limited and mocktails are practically absent. Resort without a sports center (there is only a small but very clean gym). Noisy nearby resorts. Personally, although I found the holiday relaxing, I would not recommend either the destination or the resort.

Quality, Style, Services and huge kindness are the success of this structure. The Gold staff saved us from a very bad experience in another hotel nearby. From the first contact they have been very nice and helpful, doing all the possible effort to find a solution for our needs. The days at the resort have been very comfortable and relaxing. We greatly appreciated the services (beach, pool, gym, restaurants, SPA….) , food is great! What made the difference for us were the people….Staff make the difference…always kind with a smile on the face and a “jumbo” on the mouth!! Very very advised!! ….we will be back!!!

TOO GOOD I HAD TO DO IT TWICE !!!😊 I had the most incredible time here. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and EXCEPTIONAL hospitality by the front office staff. The stunning beachfront location provided breathtaking views from the first step in and a serene atmosphere. The luxurious accommodations were not only comfortable but also beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of modern amenities and local charm. To make it better ,a handwritten and signed welcome message note from the friendly and interactive GM (Roberto di Pierno) recognising my special occasion. The culinary experience was an absolute delight, with a diverse range of delectable dishes that catered to all palates. Each meal was a culinary journey that showcased the finest ingredients and expertly crafted flavors. The staff's attention to detail and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences truly stood out with Chef Sunil , Kai and his team making sure we are comfortable and enjoying every bit of his delicious mouth watering buffet dishes🤤🤤. What truly set Gold Zanzibar Hotel and Spa apart was the exceptional level of service. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure my stay was memorable and enjoyable. F & B manager Anthony and his team ...Fred , Ummy , Sam just to mention a few ( I wish i could type everyone's name since everyone was sooo friendly and accomodative ) their genuine friendliness and willingness to assist created a welcoming and inclusive environment. From the breathtaking sunsets on the beach to the personalized service, my time at Gold Zanzibar Hotel and Spa was nothing short of a dream come true. I'm already looking forward to returning to this paradise in the future and ofcourse ill bring the whole squad with me !😊. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an unforgettable holiday experience!

Our family visited Gold Zanzibar in early August. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted at the reception area . Our butler Thomas who did an outstanding job at getting us acquainted with the layout of the property and all the features of our ocean beach villa. We were give a WhatsApp number to text for any request we might have from the butler staff. Thomas was always very responsive and provided what ever we needed and very quickly. Thomas was definitely our star butler. Our ocean front villa #6 was outstanding! It came with our own private pool, gazebo and porch area. The living room was massive and so was the master suite. The guest rooms were very nice as well. Thomas, Salim and Khadijah did an excellent job of of taking care of our every need as they rotated shifts. The food was excellent for an all inclusive resort. The fresh caught Marlin and Sailfish were my favorite as they would slice it right from the fresh caught fish hanging at the buffet. Chef Othman and Chef Sunil did an outstanding job of maintaining an excellent menu and accommodating any special requests we had. The Friday BBQ was really fun! The beach and main pool was really nice and well kept. This is a great location and must stay resort if you travel to Zanzibar. The concierge Muni also did an excellent job off arranging a photographer for us and suggesting things to do. Thanks to Freddie for arranging us to stop in Stone Town on our way back to the airport All overall outstanding experience!!!

My family felt truly wonderful, cocooned and pampered in this true gem settled on magnificent Maldives like beach!🙂 All our rooms preferences were fulfilled (and there were quite a few) and we would like to specially thank to Theeba from reservation team who was so obliging and assured us before our trip that our stay will be very comfortable and indeed it was.🌟 Beside rooms, all hotel facilities are great. Food was epic and dinners accompanied with great entertainment that made time truly flies. We would also like to highlight pool which is warm and spacious, and all hotel grounds are so beautiful and calm with many plants so you feel as if you are in some kind of botanical garden💫 We really relaxed and recharged our batteries at this stunning place. All staff members are so sweet and genuinely cordial and they put great effort so that guests stay is flawless. We would like to specially commend Baraza (our waiter at dinner), Richard (great cocktail master and waiter on pool), Joseph, whole housekeeping team that kept our rooms in perfect condition, and many others whose names unfortunately we didn't remember. General menager Roberto is also always around to assure that everything runs smoothly in this little paradise. We couldn't praise Gold Zanzibar highly enoughly and will by all means wholeheartedly recommend it to our travel agent and friends. We can't wait to return!
