When we arrived at the hotel, we were warned that they didn't have a room for us (even though we had a booking) and that we will be upgraded to another hotel. This upgrade management was a bit messy so we lost an hour and had to do some back and forth. However, the other hotel we were in was really stunning, one of the most beautiful we went to in China. The only thing to note is that because it was an old historical building, it was not soundproof at all and there were mosquitos in the room.

Conveniently located inside the atmospheric old town, about 4mins easy walk from the South Gate or 7mins from the landmark East Gate - most part of the busy old town are closed to traffic from 9am daily. Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and the owner a great host with good travel advice. Room on the second floor was brighter and much more pleasant!

Huiyuanlou Inn is the best hotel you can expect. It is very well located, the price is very very good, the rooms and very confortable. It is a perfect place to stay. The owner and his staff are very nice and welcoming. The way we were treated and welcomed by the owner was beyond anything anyone could expect. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

OMG, this was an absolute lucky draw! The location is great, the room was spacious, the courtyard is absolutely gorgeous when all the lanterns are lit at night and a great place to enjoy a relaxing evening. It’s only a short walk to the main pedestrian street where you can find many choices to get food. The hotel does not have on-side parking, you need to park in the public car park, about a 5 min walk away from the hotel. Make sure to stop there, the hotel is in a very narrow street which is almost impassable by car, especially when there are motorbikes around, you will get stuck and can’t turn around. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, they don’t offer breakfast.

The hotel was a very nice place to stay as it was in the old town. Our room was clean and cozy. The manager gave us a voucher for breakfast at nearby noodle & baoshi shop. The only issue was parking was convenient and we had to park 5 minutes away. Apple maps wasn’t correct on the route and wanted us to go down a small alley that lead to even a smaller alley! Call the hotel once you get into the city.

There is a small yard, which is quite cozy. The talking mynah bird is very cute. The boss is very nice. The price is a bit higher during holidays. If you go there on weekdays, the price should be more suitable for staying for a longer period of time. The location is very good and it is convenient to go anywhere.

A very retro homestay, right in the ancient city, very convenient for travel, and very clean. It is the most comfortable place I have stayed in Yunnan. The environment is good, the boss is very enthusiastic, and the key is that there are purple pottery from Jianshui, various calligraphy and paintings by celebrities in the store, which is quite impressive. It is a good place that literati and poets cannot miss. I recommend everyone to experience it.

The hotel is right in the center of the ancient city, just a three-minute walk from the south gate. The hotel is very quaint, and the rooms are very comfortable and clean, just like their pictures. The boss is enthusiastic and the service is very good. He introduced the nearby Qiweiguan restaurant, which is also very good. taste!
