Hotels in Shaxi Ancient Town, Jianchuan

This hotel is a gem in Shaxi Town and should not be missed. We are happy to have had the opportunity to stay for 1 night, and only wished we had more days in Shaxi. The hotel is in a beautifully restored ancestral home, with rooms that are modern and beautifully appointed with a lot of thoughtful amenities provided. Breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious. The hotel staff from the ladies at the front desk to housekeeping were really friendly and helpful. They gave us recommendations on what to see and where to eat in Shaxi. We appreciated the extra touches such as having warm milk brought to our rooms as a nightcap. Special thanks to Yan Yan who took care of us on our last day and was also our teacher in the Jia Ma wood printing experience. We had a great time during the experience and left Shaxi with a special souvenir.

I like Shaxi so much! The hotel service is good. When we arrived at the ancient city, they helped us carry our luggage 🧳. We also upgraded to a king-size bed room. The weather was cold, but the electric heating baseboards were turned on and the whole room was still very warm! The welcome fruit was apples, which were very sweet. I recommend everyone to come on Fridays. The market is fun and the things are super cheap! The mango is super big and costs 10 yuan for 3 pounds! The beef is also delicious! The persimmon cake is also delicious. If you are not used to the smell of milk, don't buy milk buns and milk tofu, it is very fishy...

quaint guest house that is run by a retired HK couple, they provided the warmest welcome during our entire trip, and we felt so at home! we spend quite a while chatting with Ms May and her husband and enjoyed the exchange. facilities are homely and basic, with a lovely garden and a kids play area. total of 8 rooms. shaxi ancient town is such a gem, quaint, quiet and is a place where you can really slow down your pace to appreciate what yunnan china is like. spend your time wandering around shaxi ancient town, it’s small (1 hour exploration) but definitely take the time to sit with a cup of coffee or a book. take the yellow taxi (electric buggy) to explore the various smaller towns that surround shaxi. there are appx 7 smaller towns, each with its own charm… we only had time to explore beilongchun, where the pace of life is slow, quiet and healing. the higher you hike, the views are very different! some places to check out: - shaxi avant garde book shop u - universal bakery (alien mascot bakery that sells sourdough, hard crust bread) - bailong tan (small lake) - 山风院子 which has a tree house and a mini cafe - shaxi tea horse museum - old stone bridge, in the afternoon an elderly couple would be there with their goats and you can buy goat milk or take photos. - shaxi friday market!!!

I have always been yearning for the ”Get Down the Mountain” brand. This time, my family and I had the opportunity to experience it in Shaxi. It is a very warm B&B. The ladies at the front desk and the restaurant helped us book the pick-up vehicle and provided very warm and thoughtful services throughout the trip. They helped with luggage, upgraded the room, reminded us to eat, provided sweet soup in the evening, and sent fruit coffee and breakfast. It was so heartwarming~ The overall design of the B&B is very beautiful, and the breakfast is especially local, with rich varieties and good taste~ The slide is also very popular with children~ But after all, it is a B&B. If you want to experience local life, it is undoubtedly a good choice, but the hardware and facilities may not be comparable to those of better hotels. I think the cost performance is very high~

The room is clean and well designed. If you don't like B&B, this hotel is the best choice. The hotel service is warm and friendly, and the water view room is upgraded for free. The hotel has breakfast on the rooftop with a nice view. Although the Spring Festival holiday has passed, Shaxi is still crowded with tourists.

The location of the B&B is invincible. There is a lovely alley leading to the Ancient Theater Square, but few tourists visit here. It is located in the center of the ancient town but is very quiet and private. The courtyard is beautiful, even better than the photos on Ctrip. Every time I walk through the green wisteria and enter the door, I feel happy and feel like I am living in a Feng Shui treasure land. The room layout is reasonable, the supplies are high-end, and every aspect is considered for the guests. There is a makeup mirror on the table, and even a headband is prepared in front of the mirror, which is very thoughtful. My favorite is the balcony, where you can see the mountains of Shaxi from a distance, the koi in the pond, and the layers of ancient town eaves. There are cats coming and going. Sitting on this balcony all day in the sun and daze is worth the trip to Shaxi. The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. When you are free, you can also drink tea and chat with the boss and a few friends in the tea room. The atmosphere is very warm. The boss is very nice and cares about the guest experience. Because it is the off-season, he helped us upgrade the room. One night, other guests were drunk and talking loudly in the yard, and the situation was handled promptly and decisively. The B&B cannot control the guests' alcohol consumption, but the owner's handling attitude can reduce this uncontrollable factor to a lower level. Well-appointed and comfortable inn. Excellent location with easy access to attractions (some within less than 5 mins walk), yet is tucked in a quiet corner. Delicious and nutritious breakfast. Most commendable is the warm hospitality. I feel so well-taken care by everyone here. If I were to visit Shaxi again, I will definitely stay here. And do Shaxi justice by staying for at least a couple of days, and explore the vicinity.

Really good. The service is very good. The environment is good. Clean and hygienic. The equipment is complete. It has been upgraded. The good night milk is freshly squeezed locally and is very fragrant. Everyone is very enthusiastic. Next time I go to Shaxi, I will choose her store. Recommended. You have the final say on whether it is beautiful or not.

Shaxi old town itself is a true gem on its own, and this place is a gem in a gem. Hidden just outside of the Shaxi old town, it's proximity to the town square （寺登街）is a big plus. The landscape is super cozy, highly suitable for those who want to really have a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life, resting ones mind in an uninterrupted environment. Let's not forget the lady owner taking care of the place, who is so accommodating and helpful. And let's not forget the hot fresh milk provided every evening, which gives another level of warmness to the stay. Notes: if you are here on a Friday, you are of luck. The farmers market held weekly on Friday is just a few minutes walk away from this guesthouse too!

Luli Mountain House is great! Generally, I don't comment. I can't help it this time. I used to worry about the poor health of the homestay, but it doesn't exist here and it is very clean. You can nest anywhere you want to nest for a day. It’s too comfortable. The design of the homestay is superb. The room layout is also very exquisite. There are only three rooms in total. They are all superb. It can be said that there are scenery everywhere. The boss is super nice! I originally decided to come to Shaxi temporarily. I have to come often in the future, hahaha
