Hotels near Kingsley Plantation, Jacksonville

I'm a Gold level Marriott member so I write this with genuine disappointment, especially as outside of this event this was mr new 'go-to' hotel when I needed to come to Jacksonville for medical at Mayo. I'm in my 2nd of a 2 night stay. I had a had a medical procedure this morning which required putting me under. I returned to my room and rested for a few hours and then found the bathroom heavily flooded. I went to the front desk to ask for help and no one was there. I waited and some guy told me to hold on, he'd go find someone. Eventually, a front desk guy named Melvin came out who was unproductive and oddly discourteous in a way that was unearned and about him. I told the problem and after some confusion he was able to contact engineering to come meet us at the front desk. While waiting, I asked him if he could see if there was availability for another room. He said ”No, I can't move you until engineering says the problem can't be fixed. Plus, we're pretty full.”I said ”yes but if you could just check if availability exists as I've just had a medical procedure and am exhausted,” a d held up my bandaged srm from where the IV just was hours ago. He then said no, rolled his eyes, and argued with me which was weird because I wasn't arguing with him. The Palmene the engineer arrived and asked my room number, 723, and he immediately told Melvin and me no one is supposed to be in that room as there is a roof leak which isn't his fault because the roof guys hadn't fixed it yet. I asked Mel in if he could now check if other rooms were available? He said no, ot until the engineer goes with me to the room. I asked ”why nit just give me a key now to a new room so I could directly pack, switch rooms and then return the key to the flooded room? Palmene the Engineer agreed and started explaining and literally mid-sentence Melvin started helping someone else who randomly walked up to ask a question about parking. I asked Melvin to please resolve one problem at a time and he refused. It was really sincerely weird; rude in such a misplaced way that it was farcical. So Palmene and I went to the room, he immediately knew where the roof leak in the bathroom was, repeated that the room should never have been occupied nor I put in it. He kindly ran to get me new room keys and a luggage dolly so I could pack to move. He returned with them and helped solve the problem and apologized for Melvin acting rudely and unconstructively. After packing and switching rooms I took the dolly down to the lobby and Melvin came up to tell me i could have just it in the hallway instead of nust saying thanks for returning it. This is a flooded room on a medical procedure day exasperated a really incompetent front desk guy with a poor attitude.

I can’t say enough about this hotel: excellent in every way, particularly staff. The connecting comfortable clean hotel rooms makes it so simple and easy, particularly for the children who were always safe and secure throughout hotel, enjoying amenities and breakfast, alone or with family. Amazing easy access to restaurants next door, TOWN CENTER, and the beaches. Highlight was our having the hotel PRESSLER LOUNGE to ourselves one evening as we held a cozy Family Dinner Celebration event- MEMORIES FOREVER

The staff here is outstanding. We have been staying here frequently since October 2023 and the staff is warm, welcoming and attentive. The hotel is clean and the staff takes pride in their hotel. I cannot say enough nice things about the people who make this a home away from home.

We drove from Pennsylvania and already called to let the front desk know that we would arrive late maybe past midnight. The gentleman on the phone was very pleasant reassuring us the service is 24/7 so we should be fine getting our room when we were there. We reached the hotel around 2:45am and the lady at the front desk had so bad attitude saying we had to wait 35-40 minutes because she was having an audit without checking if we already called to check in and to inform the hotel our situation. I was speechless of how thoughtless she was looking at us all exhausted after the long drive reaching the hotel so late at night and still asked us to wait for 35-40 minutes. She made us accept that audit was something important for her and we had to wait until she finished her audit. I’m sorry but this is unacceptable for regular customer service let alone Doubletree managed by Hilton which always has top of the line service. I was so upset and later apologized for it with her and told her I was driving so far and I was tired but she didn’t even glance at me and just threw such look-down-upon attitude at us. She should be the one who apologized for the wait but I was decent enough to do that first. I just can’t really can’t imagine how such a person with poor communication skills, poor interpersonal skills can work as a front desk, the key role for customer service at hotel industry. The 3 point on the scale I put was for the comfort of the room itself.

Hotel location is quite good. Close to the beach. Go to the game and go directly to the boat. It is a round-trip ticket. Breakfast is delicious and not expensive. Asians should like it. In addition to parking, it is a little difficult. Other facilities are not bad.

Front desk seemed polite. Had trouble checking me in, so I waited and had a drink at the bar. Check-in was really slow . After checkout, numerous unauthorized charges to my bank card. 5 days later still waiting on refund after being told it was a mistake at check in. Basically they charged me twice for everything (stay, taxes,and deposit anddddd ...parking). Yes, twice for each!

Springhill Suites, Jacksonville is advertised as being new. Not sure what happened but it is pretty beat up. Our room had a closet door that didn't open, broken drywall,etc. The breakfast bar juice machine was broken. At 8:30 AM yogurt was the only food available to eat. The night we stayed, July 7th, there were hundreds of teenagers staying there. They were not quiet. At 11:30 PM one of them pulled the fire alarm. So much for sleeping. I would not recommend this hotel.

Upon check in, the hotel lobby smelled strongly of vaping, reception was notably rude, the elevator smelled dirty, the hall had a seperate notable disgusting odor, and the hotel room had it's own musty, unclean odor. The shower did not drain properly and I stood in ankle deep water washing my hair. Attached is a photo of the ring left in the tub from our use, and I it is unlikely this much residue was generated by our overnight stay. Note the mold on the shower curtain liner. This was the darkest Sheraton hotel room we've stayed in. The pillows were notably uncomfortable, the mattress not much better. The next morning when I called the front desk to let them know about the faulty drain and offered to send a photo of the ring of soap residue in the tub, hotel reception disconnected our call. Upon checking out, when I asked about speaking with the general manager, I was told he would email us, and no such email was received. Overall, this poor quality of hotel and service is not what we would hope for from Four Points by Sheraton.
