Tucked away at the end of a quite residential road and adjacent to lovely Queen's Park our motel style 2 bedroom unit was nice and quite, clean and basic, with old and dated decor and furniture. The reception staff struggled to speak English which was frustrating. At $150 for a unit with 4 beds (1 king and 2 singles) for one night, no real complaints.

Lovely tidy room and great service from staff and owners. Was a small issue with the shower in the morning seemed to go super hot and then run cold before going back to normal temperature kind of like it is set on a communal system if someone turns the water on in another room it effects other showers. Apart from this one issue was a lovely stay and very convenient for what I was doing in Invercargill

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Invercargill holiday park and motels. We were greeted by a warm welcome and shown to our powered site by the owner. The facilities were spotless. Beautiful tiled bathrooms with fresh flowers modern kitchen and dining space. The park was lovely; it was like camping in someone's garden. Next time we're down this way we'll be back.

BBruceG445We stayed 2 nights at Villa Rouge and had a wonderful time . Hosts Dianna and Noel were so accommodating and helpful at all times . The breakfast is excellent and there was always yummy home made treats on offer. The old restored home is beautiful and you get the use of bedroom, sitting room and the library for your personal use whilst you stay . There is a vast collection of dvd’s available and we enjoyed staying in both nights with a bottle of wine and watched a movie on the large projector screen in the sitting room . I would highly recommend staying here if you are passing through Invercargill

GGuest UserI didn't expect it to be so good when I made the reservation. I liked it when I arrived. I went to the supermarket to buy steak and cooked it myself. The whole family gathered together and it felt like home. The whirlpool bathtub was very comfortable.

GGuest UserWe stayed here for one night and it was really nice. The bed was particularly comfortable and the service was excellent. Free wifi was good. It is close to the city center and across the road is the countdown supermarket. I highly recommend you to stay here if you come to invercargil.

Not as close to shops as thought, yet hotel across the road the food, plus bakery and some food outlets in walking distance. Full of comforts for a short stay or long.

CcharlotteeogMy husband (30) & I (28) stayed in this motel for one evening, stopping on our drive through. We had a small room but it was perfect for both of us for one evening. Bathroom and kitchen area was small but we enjoyed showering and having breakfast easily enough. It even had a bar area to sit at and eat. The room had a mini bar if you are interested in having a snack! Parking right outside. Owners suggested a good restaurant and gave us a free drink coupon! Honestly I would highly recommend.

Spent a night at the Kelvin recently due to work bringing me in town. Centrally located in the CBD handy to restaurants, bars and a short walk to the SIT campus and Supermarkets etc. The hotel itself comes across as dated and is in need of refurbishment in some areas. The room itself was OK. Older style, worn in places with tired decor and the bathroom was crying out for a revamp. However it was clean and tidy enough, with the minimun basics required for a comfortable enough stay. My biggest issue with the Kelvin was the lack of sleep I ended up getting. It appears the internal hotel room walls are made of tissue paper, meaning noise was a huge issue. One could hear EVERYTHING happening in neighbouring rooms. So amoungst slamming doors and after several hours of listening to the chap next door continuously wheeling & dealing on his cellphone, there was relief when he finally called it quits for the night. Unfortunately this was short lived as I was then serenaded with his loud snoring for the remainder of my stay. Complemented by the women on the other side watching TV into the wee small hours, before having an argument with her partner. To add a bit more excitement to my Thursday night in Invers, there was also a drunken punch up on the street outside once the bars had closed, that the police ended up having to come and attend to. In the end, i gave up on the concept of trying to get any sleep whatsoever, checked out early and went to work to get some peace and quiet in the Office before my colleagues arrived. The Receptionist standing at the front desk didn't bother acknowledging me when I returned the room key, although maybe it was for the best as to be fair I was pretty tired and cranky by then. Didn't utilize the food and beverage options, gaming room or bottle shop etc that's offered on-site so can't comment there. Would I stay again? Probably not... Fine for just one night at a push, but have stayed at other similarly priced hotels in Invercargill that were far nicer ambience wise and a lot quieter.

GGUIYINGThe hotel has breakfast. Although it is not very rich, it is full of nutrition and it is already in the room when you check in. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, but the car can be parked on the road in front of the hotel. It is free from 6pm to 9am the next day.
