"The Moderate cabin size capsule was a lot better with the locker gate right under the bed with lock and key. No more climbing up and down capsules, while noises from other guests were less with more space. It's also located on 7F, so elevator wait times start becoming an issue. Overall I like the Moderate cabin size better. Staff continues to be accommodating with luggage storage
Location was also accessible enough to make 1st ferry to Miyajima Island first thing in the morning and still be back at a reasonable time in the evening"

"Hotel is very near the Peace Memorial Park and only steps away from Chuden-mae streetcar stop. It is also within walking distance of the highway bus station at Sogo department store. My room faces the streetcar stop and is just of perfect size to me. The bathroom is a tad small but hey, this is Japan after all where space is a premium. I didn’t add on breakfast. The hotel provides tea and coffee at the lobby (from 06:00 to midnight) and also offers complimentary nightwear and free rental of pillow. The furniture is a bit dated but still functional. I have no complaints at all and would highly recommend especially to solo travellers. And the hotel personnel were so kind and helpful and helped guide me on the streetcars to take to Miyajima and they also sold me the day-ticket. I was able to leave my bags at the lobby before and after checking in and out respectively. To be honest, I’d prepared myself for the worst after reading some reviews but I had a great stay. No regrets!"

"First time staying in Toyoko Inn. It’s a cozy hotel that feels like home. The location isn’t ideal for sightseeing in Hiroshima. It's near the station, but going back and forth gets tiring and the streetcars are very slow. For business stays though, it’s great. There’s a large 24/7 Lawson next door with food and anything you might need."

"Pros: It's relatively close to Hiroshima Station, about a 12-minute walk, so the location is quite convenient.
Breakfast: To my surprise, it was Matsuya… pretty average.
Cons: For a hotel in Japan, not having an air purifier means there's an excessive amount of dust. After sleeping for just one night, I accumulated a lot of phlegm in my throat.
The step into the bathroom is incredibly high, almost comically so, probably around 20 centimeters. I found it quite dangerous.
The front desk is on the second floor, but you have to take an elevator to get there, and also to come back down. I think this is very inconvenient during peak hours and also poses a fire safety hazard.
Overall, I don't recommend this Koko hotel…"

"The place was quite clean, and the service was excellent. Laundry is super affordable at 200 yen, significantly cheaper than other hostels which typically charge 300-500 yen. They also have a dryer, so rainy days aren't an issue. The only drawback is that it's a wooden, detached house (not reinforced concrete), so the sound insulation isn't the best. Guests need to be mindful of their footsteps; walking heavily could lead to thumping noises audible downstairs, potentially causing complaints. Furthermore, showering is generally not permitted after midnight, as the sound of running water can disturb those on lower floors. Also, guests are required to make their own beds (sheets, pillowcase, duvet cover) upon arrival, and strip them off, placing them in the designated laundry basket upon check-out. If you're unwilling to do this or find making your own bed a hassle, you might want to consider booking elsewhere."

"I stayed for the first time this time. The room was ”smoking allowed”, but when I contacted him in advance that he would not smoke, it was properly deodorized. The location is close to Hiroshima Station and there are many restaurants, so there is no problem. There were two elevators, and I was never crowded when I went out and had to wait. I would like to stay again next time."

"The hotel is quite convenient from the station. You just follow the underground passage, take the escalator on your left, cross the river, and you're there. I took the staff's advice and quickly went to Miyajima, which helped me avoid the heavy rain the next day. Dining options in the area are also very convenient."

"The room size was decent, not small by Japanese standards. The decor felt quite new. They even had Braille identification at the elevator, which was a nice touch. The hotel is right in the city center, making transportation very convenient. It's really close to the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Museum, just a few minutes' walk. The area felt safe and quiet. My only minor gripe was that there was a front desk staff member on the first day, but I didn't see them on the subsequent two days. It seems like many hotels in Japan are moving towards self check-in now, which I'm still getting used to as I don't visit often."

"The hostel had a great location. The beds weren’t the most comfortable but you had your privacy.
Toilets and shower were very clean.
All in all a nice hostel to stay for 1 or two nights. For a longer stay I would recommend a different one because the beds weren’t that comfortable:))"

Amazing
It’s connected to the main station and Level 2’s exit gets you to the Shinkansen. It is a wonderful hotel with all required amenities and a great bed to sleep on. If you have back issues, this is the place!

Very happy I chose this hotel, location within minutes from Hiroshima Station and diagonally across the intersection from a big supermarket YouMe. The room layout is spacious and seems recently renovated. Amenities are good and the public bath was absolutely amazing.

Very grand hotel, dated in the age of build. Very clean bathroom and beds. Amazing, grand entrance way. Very close to sightseeing areas and local sighseening bus stops. Excellent view of the city. Lots of personal amenity provided (toothbrush etc). Access to gym/fitness centre is additional (substantial) costs. Lovely staff with excellent English.

Enjoyed my stay here at this hotel. Room was big and has the shower and toilet separated so one does not need to wait for another to finish showering before using the toilet. Room was relatively quiet with mild traffic noises but ceased after around 11pm. Bed was comfortable with soft and hard pillows. Location was perfect as well with around a 5min walk to Hiroshima station. I appreciated the room TV function where I could see the status of the 2 washing machines from the comfort of my room. There is also bread, coffee and fruit juice available at the lobby every morning. Staff were also friendly. My only feedback is the lack of hooks in the shower to hang our clothes. Overall a very pleasant stay here. Would choose to stay at this hotel again if I’m in Hiroshima.

2km away from Hiroshima Station but accessible via a local bus no 50 to Takaramachi Kita Bus Stop (3 stops away). I love the room as it is sizeable by Japanese standard. The bathroom n toilet are separated on its own with a sliding door keeping it away fr the main bedroom. Its clean n service staff are super helpful.

Amazing hotel and I cannot wait to go back. The view is to die for. I just wish I had checked in a lot earlier. The convenience store downstairs sells alcoholic drinks, bento and other snacks at reasonable prices. The shuttle bus is convenient but does not run that frequently so I recommend you to check it well in advance. I ended up paying around 3500 yen for taxi one way 🤣
