High service and nice attitude from first contact until we left. Quick answers by mail about transfer options from the airport. Nice welcome and quick check in. The room was spacious and clean. Very big and comfortable double bed, duvet and pillows. The garden is beautiful and peaceful and the area around the pool wonderful. To have a drink on the terrace and watch the sunset was heavenly. The restaurant has a wide menu with both international and Moroccan cuisines and the waiter did a great job. Breakfast had everything you needed and the selection was chosen from both international and Moroccan choices. The only thing to take in consideration when booking this hotel is that there is nothing worth seeing, restaurant or shops close by.

Absolutely stunning! A veritable verdant eden, with palms, hibiscus, bourgainvillea, plus a myriad of other tropical plants surround the stylish accommodation. When my wife and I arrived, we were rather blown away by the full impact of nature meets contemporary lodging. Warmly welcomed by Manu and guided through the peaceful gardens to our room, passing a pristine swimming pool, a few adventurous tortoises enjoying the lawns and the extremely friendly dog, Carter, we knew that we had made the right choice! The room we had booked was a classic double which had everything we needed for our stay, including a giant bed (a king surely?), the best shower that my wife has ever experienced on holiday, and air con. There was also a big TV, but with the natural spectacle on offer just outside the door, we did not use it. We dined in the restaurant and we really enjoyed the veggie tajine. For such dishes they do ask that you order earlier in the day. A real bonus was the cold belgian beer that we enjoyed sitting out on the terrace watching the glorious sunset. All the staff were absolutely fantastic and could not have done more to help. Larby was exceptional and always on hand to assist with drinks, food, you name it! Rachida arranged transfers to and from Agadir and also a tremendous safari into the Souss Massa National Park. This was undertaken by Mohssin (with the pony tail), in his 4 x 4, was excellent value, and we were most fortunate to see dorcas gazelle, addax, scimitar horned oryx and lots of ostrich. A perfect day out and so well organised. To be honest, my wife and I are avid birders and one of the main reasons for choosing this accommodation was the greenery and proximity to both the national park and also the Oued Souss river which passes by. The walk to the mouth takes about 40 minutes or so and the birding is first class! Even at Dar Maktoub itself every bush seemed to have a sardinian warbler in it, there were white storks flying overhead and nesting nearby, bulbuls filled the air with their fluting whistles, and maghreb magpies 'chackled' across the lawns to cool off at the swimming pool. We even saw a long legged buzzard soaring overhead, perfect! Check out was at 12:00 midday, but we were not flying out until 20:40 that evening. The management were very happy to look after our baggage and to allow us to use the facilities until we left later that day. Oh yes, they have a Boule court next to the swimming pool which was great fun! An absolutely wonderful property and I highly recommend to one and all for a most peaceful and enjoyable stay. This is such an incredible and beautiful botique hotel. The rooms where spotless, styled beautifully and very comfortable. We stayed in multiple 4* botique hotels on our trip through Morrocco and this came out on top for every aspect including comfort, style, service and food. I really recommend getting the banana and vanilla milkshake. The gardens and pool area are perfectly maintained and the breakfast is very good. It was the only place on our trip that served English breakfast tea which by the end of our trip I was craving! The photos don't do this place justice, you have to be their to realise how much of a gem this little haven really is.

Really lovely small hotel on the outskirts of Agadir. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely pool and gardens. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again of we are staying in the area. We had a hire car and the secure parking is a bit of a tight squeeze but we were always able to find a spot to park. This was a great place to stay - like nearly everyone we loved Carter the dog ! The only minor area for improvement would be the coffee at breakfast -everything else is really good but the machine coffee is just a bit ordinary.

The hotel is a bit far from the main part of Agadir, but this meant the location was tranquil and quiet. There is an outside pool which is lovely to swim in. The breakfast was adequate and tasty. The room was large. In general the place was relaxing and clean with a beautiful garden. Great place for couples.

What an absolutely incredible little gem. We stayed in multiple highly rated 4* botique hotels throughout our trip to Morocco, however this one ranked first in every single aspect from food to comfort and service. I would 100% stay here again. The pool area and gardens are stunning. I highly recommend the banana and vanilla icecream.

Dar Maktoub is a stylish Riad located on the outskirts of Agadir. The room was pleasant and plenty of room for a traveling couple. The pool is large and kept clean and serves as an ample meeting point for guests especially those with children. A lovely breakfast with made to order eggs is served in the dining area. Because of the off the beaten track location a car is necessary. Parking is tight and made more difficult by lack of space and staff. Be weary of needing to get out of the parking lot if you are on a schedule. Taxis are not readily available. It’s about a 10 minute drive to the beach areas. While the staff is good there seemed to be a constant shortage. Manager did not appear to be on duty much of the time. WiFi is spotty throughout the facility.
