Very convenient, after the whale watching at the pier, it will be opened to the apartment in a few minutes, behind the chapel. Because it is a room on the top floor (third floor) there is no elevator, you need to carry your luggage up and down, the stairs are not spacious. The living room is spacious and the room is relatively small. I cooked dinner in the apartment and the kitchenware was complete. It should be noted that the check-in method should pay attention to checking the email or it is best to contact the landlord one day in advance to get the key.

The location to the main town is close. There is a cafe within 3-5 minutes walk for breakfast or coffee. There are goods and bads to this place. The beds are comfortable. There is a laundry service available which is 3000 isk per machine load wash/dry. The breakfast is fairly large considering. Here are my complaints. We had the 3 bed on the first floor. Everyone coming in and out slams the front door to get it to close. This was still going on at midnight. The guests above us were up talking loudly until 1a. This would be my biggest complaint. You can here very noice in the place. They ask you to be considerate of others, but people aren’t. If you have trouble sleeping, this may not be the place for you. We found the shared bathrooms to be fine. We never really had to wait for the shower or the bathroom. On day 1 we were asked what time we wanted breakfast as it was included in our price that we paid.and we said 8a. The first morning it showed up 10 minutes late which was not a big deal. On the second day we waited until 8:30 and did not receive breakfast and then had to leave due to getting on the road. She did send a message through *********** saying she had been knocking on our door trying to bring breakfast. We were up at 6:30 and in the room by 715 after showers. We found the breakfast thing to be disappointing. Why ask why what time we want breakfast if you aren’t going to be close to the time. The message they sent us though the app was 9:08a. An hour after it was supposed to be delivered. I would not stay here again mainly because of the noise outside your room

Fosshotel Húsavík was very convenient to where we wanted to be near the whale watching companies. There was supermarket nearby and also restaurants by the harbour. The room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed our stay here

Myself and my partner were booked to stay here from a Saturday evening through until Monday afternoon. This was the longest we were staying anywhere on our journey around the country, mostly enticed in by the promise of whale watching and the JaJa Ding Dong cafe and Eurovision experience. It would be fair to say that this was to be the absolute highlight of our holiday and the main reason that we’d decided to holiday in Iceland. On arrival, there were no staff present and our room key was on the front desk for us to collect. First impressions of our room were good. It was large, very warm and the huge bed was very comfortable. However, when looking for a plug socket, I found that the floor was coated in a thick layer of dust and dirt in the corners. We also noticed that there was only one tea bag and no cups in our room for us to use. Undeterred, as British people in need of a tea fix, we left our bags in the room and excitedly hurried next door to JaJa Ding Dong, only to find an upside down sign in the window stating it was ‘closed until further notice.’ Everywhere we looked online said it was open, we weren’t notified by the staff that there was an issue with the cafe and we couldn’t find any clues as to why it was closed or when it might reopen. Come the following morning, we realised that the closure meant there was now nowhere to have breakfast. Most of the places in town were closed as it was Sunday. We’d also not had the greatest nights sleep as the heating was on full blast all night with no way to turn it down. I also had to shower with the door open as the bathroom had become unbearably hot. To continue our run of bad luck, our whale watching trip got cancelled (we know that is in no way the fault of the hotel) and that led us to decide to cut our losses and leave Husavik by Sunday lunchtime. Overall, we had a very disappointing stay and probably wouldn’t return. Husavik seems like a lovely town though.
