Sunrise Holidays Resort (Adults Only)

Hurghada|1.63km from King TuT Bazar
True, honest and very long review... Upon arrival at SUNRISE Holidays Resort, all of the staff say ”Welcome Home” which we found initially a little bit odd. However after a 10 day stay we found that we had a new family! The furniture in the rooms is a little dated, but the rooms are spotlessly clean, towels, robes and toiletries are all supplied. the beds are comfy, what else do you need, frankly you don't spend much time in your room. Water, tea, coffee and soft drinks are topped up daily. Housekeeping staff are just fab The private beach is wonderful, the sea was warm and plenty of sunbeds. The beach staff make sure that you have everything you need, drinks are brought round at all times. There are great 4 restaurants on site, the buffet 'El Sol' is great there is something for everyone, the staff are great. I am a coeliac, so gluten free is a must. As soon as the staff were made aware of this they could not do enough for me, specially made desserts were brought out without even asking for them, gluten free bread arrived by magic for every meal. We only tried Elia, the Mediterranean restaurant, as we loved the El Sol staff so much. Mohammed, the supervisor of Elia asked us to try the restaurant our, so we did, OMG it was so worth it. You can have one meal in each of the specialty restaurants per week. apart from Nasaya, which is chargeable. The guests that we spoke to said that Nasaya was very good and incredibly reasonable. Now... lets talk about our new family... The Splash Bar.... Where do I start... the guys are truly amazing. Tarek, Engelhard, Ahmed and Ahmed are the best. Our glasses were never empty, even though i was only drinking mint tea and coffee, they knew which i would like and when, i'm not sure how as even i didn't know! The managers Mahmood & Sean run a tight ship which we love and join in with everyone, making us feel so welcome. They put up with my learning Arabic badly and tried to teach me new words every day! They genuinely care that you are having a wonderful holiday. The animation team do not stop! how they have so much energy, we will never know. They are great, volleyball, dance lessons, AQUAGYM(!) evening entertainment, its brilliant. We only had one complaint.... The Disco (Jungle Bar) is like the secret ”speak easy” it doesn't have a sign anywhere and was really quiet, non of the guests knew about it! Once we found it we loved it! Ahmed is the sweetest and really looked after us. In summary... The staff made the holiday THE BEST. Warm weather, warm water, great wifi , great food and the warmest welcome. What else could you need!.... We are going Home again Very soon. Thank you SUNRISE Holidays Resort

Zya Regina Resort and Aqua Park Hurghada

Hurghada|0.25km from King TuT Bazar
The Regina is a basic all inclusive hotel right in the centre of Hurghada. Easy walking distance to the Marina and bars, restaurants etc are right outside the front door. Majority of staff are friendly, tips get you better service (as in most places in Egypt). Samir who cleaned our bungalow was absolutely fantastic, every day he left something else in our room that helped us enjoy our stay. From a kettle (not typical to get in Egypt all inclusive) to hotel embroidered slippers and a wonderful smile every single day, I hope the management cherish him as he is simply brilliant. The bungalow was spacious enough but the shower was tiny, beds comfy, plenty of clean towels too. The food is basic and not to the standard I’ve had in other hotels in Hurghada but there was always something to have. The beer is poured in to small glasses from a bottle and all the spirits are local equivalents. If like me you need coffee early morning (before 7) then you’ll have to pay for it. They have a machine in a little cafe area and at the pool/beach bars but machine coffee is not available whilst breakfast is being served. Instead it’s provided in a huge urn and not very palatable. If you arrive before 3pm you’re not entitled to have lunch or dinner after 12 o’clock check out on your last day…they cut your band off when you check out. If you check in after 3pm then you can get a voucher from reception which allows you to have lunch. I’ve never had this at any other hotel in Egypt (this was my 18th visit) and adds to the basic feel of the hotel. If you’re looking for a cheap hotel to enjoy the ever present sunshine then the Regina could be for you.

This three-meal hotel booked 2 single-bed beds at the special price. The hotel decided to check in at 2 pm, we were more than one, and we were told to clean at 2 o'clock. We waited for more than an hour, and said that there was no room. We wanted to give us a standard room. I refused. I waited for more than half an hour and almost quarreled with the front desk. Then the front desk reluctantly said to give us a big bed sheet. There is a twin room but in a different building. I think about it. As a result, when I went to the room, I found that the single bed room environment was not bad, but the twin room was on the road in an old building, and there were no two beds in it. It was really nowhere to move, and I lived in it. As a result, the friend who stayed in the single room the next day and I said that several rooms next to him were empty. It is clear that the front desk feels that the special price has been lost, so I want to pull back a little. So everyone can book this mid-priced room, the special room is really poor service. This hotel can still accept three meals, after all, there are rice, chicken, potatoes and other foods we can accept. The Egyptian meal at the restaurant outside is not very tasty. The hotel lobby and swimming pool are not bad. If you live in a new building, it will feel good. There is a Chinese restaurant next to this hotel. The old building room was too bad to take photos. I took a photo of the new building.

The hotel is apartment-style, the location is good, you can go shopping when you go out, there is a big store on the first floor of the hotel, the tourist souvenirs inside are quite complete, but you have to bargain hard, grind more, and leave if you can't talk about it. He will call you back 😂 Basically, you can cut half. The hotel will not be cleaned every day after check-in. We provide water and towels for one time. We have enough, so there is no additional service. The room is very large, divided into 2 inside and outside, the hotel is surrounded by shopping and eating supermarket pharmacies and the phone card business is basically solved within 10 minutes walk. If you don't pursue the resort experience, you need to solve the problem of living, it is convenient here. By the way, there is no restaurant here, because it is a hotel apartment, so there is no breakfast, but there is a microwave, refrigerator, oven, etc. in the room, there are many tableware and kitchenware, you can simply process a little food yourself.

Sea Garden Hotel

Our third time in Hurghada. We selected this hotel to spent a few days and relax before our diving liveaboard. Hotel has a perfect location right next to new Marina and Sheraton street. Later has a good selection of local food options as you may get bored to new Marina restaurants which all have more or less the same menu. Room was neat and clean. Air con worked flawlessy. Mattress was nice and firm so we got a good night sleep after a long flight. Maybe from a Scandinavian view point hotels in this area are not so new but the staff worked hard with renovations. Hospitality of the staff was simply exceptional. Breakfast included a selection of bread, eggs, cheeses, ham and fruits. Considering the price point you can not expect more. Hotel has a nice pool where you relax and grab a cold one.
