The hotel is lovely with Arts and Crafts design. It still feels like family manor house and the staff are wonderful. Food was good and our dogs were welcomed to share the fireside . Highly recommended and will be returning soon. We miss the staff already. They obviously love working there.

Visited Stonehouse Hotel for a week end as a family to celebrate my Mother’s 90th birthday. This Hotel is an absoulute gem, the staff superb, the breakfast excellent The rooms comfortable and dinner was delicious. We will return and tell other people to visit too, Thank you everyone for making us so welcome !

Just returned from a relaxing 3 day break at this wonderful hotel. We have been staying there 3 times a year for the last 10 years and it never fails to deliver. The cuisine is excellent and the staff who most have been working there for years are very helpful and friendly without being intrusive and are a credit to the owner Since our last visit in October the hotel has undergone a few changes, the main one being getting rid of the pool table and relocating the bar to that area. This has created more space and seating and I'm sure this makes it easier for the staff. The hotel has not lost any of its character and in our opinion is an improvement. Looking forward to our return in June Well done to all. C and S

Stayed in a lovely spacious suite. Though we did not have time to explore the grounds, I am sure they would have made a lovely stroll around. Check-in/check-out were both quick and easy, though we were staying at a quiet time of year. A special shout out to the young serving staff - Sandra, Mary, Other Lyn, etc. - they were very friendly, efficient and happy to join in with the banter. The only slight quibble was that the full breakfast was overcooked, but overall a definite recommended stay.

Stone House Hotel & Tall Tales Mysteries - Murder Mystery Night 24th Feb 2024. Thank you for another great night of sleuthing and wonderful food and drinks. Murderously silly death of Mme Noir and delicious lamb shanks - look forward to coming back again in July. The changes to the bar area are really nice - just a bit gutted the snooker table’s gone walkies 😀 Thank you to all the staff who are warm, kind and extremely hard working hosts. As ever - a fabulous stay. This hotel performs well beyond its stars. The refurb is a triumph, the restaurant EVEN better this time around...really good country food; fresh, beautifully cooked and presented and plenty of it. The staff are amazing - like good friends immediately, gracious, informative, quick and efficient...a difficult feat to achieve! They always have good wine, my favourite whisky (how do they know?!) ..and...I am always surprised by the bill - for all the right reasons! Outstanding.

Overall an excellent stay. Comfortable bed, large room (deluxe king) and very clean not just in the bedroom but everywhere. Beautiful location and building. Friendly and professional staff and excellent food. Tastefully decorated throughout.

Everything about the stone house is in my opinion 5 star. In a country of terrible service and unhelpful staff this place throws that thought process out of the window. Stayed 2 night's and it was a delight. Didn't realise they had a beautiful solo singer on for valentine's dinner which sat perfectly with an absolutely beautiful meal. 1 critism, no sticky toffee pudding on the dessert menu. Shame on you ha ha. Thanks to the whole team for a lovely relaxing break. Keep it up.
