This is a typical traditional Japanese thatched style inn that looks like a movie set for a samurai film. Located in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. They provided a free pick up from Nakanojyo station where an express train from Ueno station stops. It took us around 40mins by car to get there. There are some annex in the village and some of them display historical objects. The room was big and comfy apart from the heater or boiler for the heating system kept making loud noises which deprived of our sleep. If this hadn’t happened I would give 5 stars. The baths were excellent especially the outdoor bath with a view of the falls was very impressive. The food was great, too much to finish, and seemed like most of the staff speak English. It’s a remote area so all you can do is to stay in this inn and take as many baths as you like. But I do recommend this place if you truly want to experience a traditional style inn in Japan.

温泉は熱いが泉質は良く滞在中ほぼいつでも入れます。 部屋の設備については、大きなガスヒーターと空気清浄機が整備されパワーも強力でよかった。室内の清掃もきちんとされていました。 食事は食堂風の狭い場所のためゆっくりできる感じではありません。お品書きもなく高級感はありませんが美味しい方だと思います。 少し坂を登った所にある中屋饅頭でのお土産購入がおすすめです。きび大福が珍しい上に美味しい。温泉饅頭も美味しいです。 なお、宿で無料の札を借りられる隣りの共同浴場はお薦めしません。受付のおばあちゃんの接遇態度があまりにも酷いからです。公共浴場を自分の家のお風呂と勘違いしてるようです。時間前に並んだ所怒鳴られました。 隣の龍鳴館やまるほん旅館に泊まるか日帰り入浴できたら泉質も同等だしゆったり入れます。何よりこの老婆に遭遇する危険性もないし地元民に気を遣い小さくなって入浴する必要もありません。

When you arrive, park your car and check into the lobby alone. The elderly front desk staff responded and carefully explained how to use the facilities. Return to the car and move to the log house where you will stay. The road is wide enough for one car to pass. The log house is two stories and has 5 beds. There is a toilet with a washlet, a separate bath, a mini kitchen with an electromagnetic range, a microwave oven, and a small refrigerator. There is a table for four and a terrace. There was one double outlet in each room. There is a TV and free Wi-Fi. Although it was in the mountains, there were no insects inside the log house, it was clean, and there were pet supplies (dog toilet, rice and water bowl, deodorant spray, roller, plastic bag). It was a comfortable stay. There is no roof in the passage between the parking lot and the log house, so when it rains, there is an umbrella at the entrance of the log house, so you can use it to carry your luggage. You can walk to the main building or drive to the public bath and dining room. A car is good on rainy days. When you leave your pet in the log house and go out to eat, bring a cage and put it in and go out, or leave it in the car. The large public bath is a hot spring with an open-air bath and an indoor bath, so it was spacious and relaxing. Sauna is closed due to Corona. It was a meal plan, but when I was checking in at 5:30 pm and carrying my luggage, it was time to eat. I couldn't do it slowly and I was busy. I wish it was a little more flexible. As for the meal, the roast beef is prepared in advance and the meat is dry and disappointing. The beech meat and vegetable stir-fried on the copper plate was warmed with solid fuel, so it was delicious. Appetizers, sashimi, and boiled dishes were delicious. The ingredients of the soup are dry ingredients and the soup stock is not absorbed, and the taste of the soup stock is not delicious. The contents are good for the price, but I would like the quality of the food to be a little better. Breakfast was a buffet, which was satisfying. There is a coffee machine in the lobby, and all-you-can-drink coffee in the lobby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check out took a while.

There is a slope in front of you and the best location. This time, I used a plan with a ski lift ticket, so it was very good value. The room was a long time ago, but there is no problem because it only sleeps after skiing. The gondola from Naeba Ski Resort to the next Kagura Ski Resort was wonderful. However, it was difficult to have a balanced meal because it was an accommodation plan without meals. Since it was a weekday, there were many restaurants on holidays, and I felt that every restaurant was generally more valuable than the quality. There are two large communal baths, but one of the men's baths was under repair and could not be used, and the only underground large communal bath that was available was incredibly far away. Also, it was dark and lacking in cleanliness, probably because it wasn't cleaned very well, so I didn't want to enter twice. I think it would be difficult to stay unless it was for skiing purposes.

The self lounge at the corner of the lobby is good. Since it is a free drink except for night ～ early morning, I am glad to use it before and after check-in out, of course, after the morning bath. You can relax while watching the garden. Because it is winter, I didn't go out, but I saw foot bath? I want to go out next time because I saw something like it. The room is clean. It is especially convenient that there was a bath towel size pole in the bathroom. The side of the washbasin is also a paper towel and ⚪ as a corona countermeasure, but it is regrettable that the toilet was an ordinary towel. I am excited to pass through the tatami corridor to the hot spring. There is also a rest corner at the entrance of the tatami corridor and on the way, and it is safe to climb. There were several baths, and I liked to enter the steam negative ion state on the back side of the waterfall. I had a Viking in the morning and evening. There is no big feature, and there is no super delicious as it jumps up if there is no unpleasant thing, and there is a corner that can be made in the live kitchen even in ＝, and tension rises. A long-established hot spring inn near the stone steps of Ikaho Onsen. It has a reputation for warm hospitality. The characteristic is that there are two entrances, and you can enter from the stone steps side as well as the usual entrance. In many inns, there are many movements in the building with slippers, but since the whole building is tatami mats, you can walk barefoot in the building. The food was delicious and the amount was appropriate. The bathhouse was also large enough to relax. On the other hand, although it is a family saying because it is a good inn, there were some staff who were still developing in their behavior. I would like to expect that I will grow up as a good staff with good teaching from my predecessors. There was also a machine in the room for massage of my feet. I think the massage machine after the bath is cleaned frequently, but I was a little worried about the sanitary condition of the machine in the room. Because it is a thankful consideration, I think that it was able to use it more comfortably if there was a display such as ”cleaned”.
