Hotels near Mamula Fortress in Herceg Novi

I had booked the hotel months and months in advance and wasn't quite sure what to expect, especially given the awful weather forecast I was reading from the week before. The transfer from Tivat does take a while and includes a short ferry crossing more at the Tivat end. Our coach managed to reach the hotel despite the narrow roads on the approach. The hotel is built into the mountain side and enjoys a fabulous location. We had rooms in Luna with amazing views up the bay of Kotor. A buggy took our luggage to our building. Our room was sea view in the premium location (we had paid for this). However our daughter got a similar room that we had not paid for. Great. It is very true that there are lots of steps and slopes at the hotel. Luna is closest to the restaurant and the pool. We had read about this and did exercise caution at all times. This is not a hotel for guests with mobility issues. The staff are all wonderful, from the cleaning staff to the waiters, gardeners, receptionists, porters and bar staff. There was plenty to get involved in by way of activities, led by the enthusiastic animation team. The hotel complex has a small private beach and a cordoned off area for swimming. There is a beach bar which is open when the weather is good enough. Unfortunately the roof top bar was not open when we were there. I would have loved that. The main bar is under the restaurant and the décor is modern and it is comfortable. In better weather there is entertainment outside, but in the evening we preferred to sit inside. There are plenty of trips guests can do. Our daughter went swimming in the cave out from the bay for 25€ . A small ferry goes over to Herceg Novi for 5€ each way when the weather is good enough. Or there is the odd bus (very cheap) or a taxi for about 12€ to the Old Town. There are buses from Herceg Novi to Kotor and Dubrovnik. These trips can be arranged at the hotel if you don't want to go it alone. We really enjoyed the hotel vibe despite having only three decent days weatherwise. The pool area is pleasant, but in mid October the sun goes down around 2pm, so it is not perfect for sunbathing at this time of the year. The sparkling wine is great and is French and the house wines are very drinkable. If you ask for a cocktail with a particular branded spirit you will get a better cocktail than the premixed version. The dining experience was very pleasant with fabulous views from the restaurant. We could see that the food was carefully prepared and proudly presented, but we felt that many of the main courses lacked seasoning and therefore tasted quite bland. I enjoyed the pork dishes and the freshly made pizza in particular. My morning omelette was also a daily treat. In October there was an issue with wasps, just a seasonal thing. Friends we made used the spa and loved it. 20% off prices was offered. The gym looked pretty good too. We felt the hotel could do with a little shop to sell all the thing

Beautiful hotel set in a very pretty marina. The breakfast was delicious, the best we have ever experienced abroad! The coffee machine in the room was an extra added bonus, constantly topped up. The cleaners where amazing, it was almost like they had magic wands as they where in and out so quickly. You never saw them but they had the place spotless. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the centre of Herceg Novi along a coastal path which takes you right into the old town. Once you get to the statue you will see a yellow coffee shop and the stairs to the left take you into the centre. There is a lot to explore in the old town. At the top where kanli kula is you will find the bus station and can get a local bus to Kotor which takes about a hour and ten minutes. We wanted to do a few tours but unfortunately it was the end of the season so not much on offer. The weather was a pleasant surprise though. We had 3 days of blue sky and temperatures of 23-25. Two days of rain and two days of clouds and light showers. The best thing about going at the end of the season was just how quiet it was. We had the pool and spa to ourselves on a few occasions and everyone was so attentive to us. We really enjoyed it here and will be recommending it to all our friends and family.

Four adults (age range 22 to 60 years) spent a relaxing and restful week at the lovely Heritage Grand Hotel in Perast in September. The hotel is made up of a series of very well maintained attractive stone buildings that surround a courtyard. The hotel has great views overlooking the sea with Risan bay to the west and the gulf of Kotor to the east. Across the quiet and mostly pedestrianised road in front of the hotel is the hotel's outdoor (non heated) pool and seating area. There are also steps that provide access to the designated swimming area in the sea. The whole place was kept spotlessly clean and we saw the staff cleaning the courtyard and communal areas every morning when we set off for a run (along the footpath from Perast to Risan). We had an excellent room with walk-in wardrobe, large bath/shower room and very comfortable bed. The room was cleaned every day and towels replaced twice a day. Breakfast (plenty of choice of fresh fruit, pastries, cold meat, bread, cheese as well as cooked eggs) was served outside on the balcony, which had great views over to the two small islands of Our Lady of the Rocks and St George. The staff at breakfast were excellent and worked very hard to serve the guests. In fact, all the hotel's staff were great and very helpful. We used the very small gym and the excellent indoor pool (plus sauna and steam room). While we were staying in Perast the hotel hosted a wedding in the courtyard which included live music. The hotel notified guests about the wedding and the music stopped promptly at midnight. Perast is a very attractive small village with several hotels, restaurants and churches. It is set below the main road that runs aound the coast and the narrow street through the centre of Perast is mainly free from traffic, which means that there is little road noise. Rising above the village are tree covered hills. There is a regular bus from the edge of the village to the nearby town of Kotor (1.5 euros per person each way) which takes 30 minutes. An extraordinary complex with all facilities! Hotel Chedy with extremely friendly staff and comfortable accommodation completes the comfort and quality of the complex. Our business visit was spent enjoying the hotel facilities. A real place with a great location with a private beach and marina. Great bars and restaurants with great food and service! All recommendations!

Hotel facilities are very new, the price of less than 100€ is excellent value for money. About 30 minutes walk from the ancient city of kotor, will pass by several good seaside restaurants, take a taxi about 6 euros. The room size is also large, the service staff is very friendly and the English is good. Breakfast is very good, it is a la carte, better than the buffet

It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel Service attitude: The service staff at this hotel was very welcoming and she was able to answer our questions with enthusiasm and patience. Environment: the view from the room was exceptional! You can see the mountains and the bay view, and at night you can see the two sides of the lake lit up. Because this hotel is on a hill, the air is particularly good! I will still stay again if I come to Montenegro next time
