The room was not too big but we didn’t have any big luggage so it was fine, and it was nice too. However, we discovered a black gel nail on the bathroom floor, but since the floor pattern was stone with black, white and grey, so it is understandable that the room attendant missed that spot.

I wouldn’t recommend this place purely based on the area. It felt pretty unsafe outside, and involved walking through underground car park areas where we saw groups of some quite intimidating people. The hostel itself is hard to find, keep an eye out for signage. And then you enter a building that looks very much like an office / tower block. The hostel is on the 11th floor. Secure access and once inside I felt my possessions were safe. Showers and toilets were clean but the room itself had dirty stained pillows, which needed replaced but the linen was clean. There were also a few hairs in the bed. For what we needed for 1 night it was sufficient but I’d choose somewhere else next time.

We arrived late in the evening from Berlin and had next day May Day lunch with our friends in Helsinki city center. The hotel is conveniently located at Helsinki Central Station. So there has been some downgrade concerning the room equipment. The rooms are not very spacious but practical. The views from the top-floor rooms are great. Breakfast is never included in the point reservations at IHG hotels unless there is a lounge where you have access. At this hotel, breakfast costs 21 euros per person. It is slightly better than the usual Scandic or Sokos Hotel breakfast in Finland. So maybe it is worth the price.

Very clean, and have 3 supermarkets nearby You can take the tram and ferry for a few minutes walking distance. Good choice for single or couple travellers!
